"I made a reservation a week in advance to ensure everything would be ready. When I arrived, the…read moremanager told me there were no trucks available. She then tried to raise the rate to $100 a day, even though U-Haul's own website clearly showed $47.50 a day. When I pointed that out, she shrugged, claimed she didn't know anything about it, and then disappeared into the back office and never returned. To make matters worse, she used the excuse that 'U-Haul reservations aren't guaranteed if the last person doesn't return on time.' That may be true in some cases, but U-Haul's own policy says customers are supposed to be helped and offered $50 if the reservation can't be met. At the very least, she could have called me the day before to warn me there was no truck, instead of letting me waste time showing up. What makes this even more unacceptable is that I flew in from out of state for this move, and my friends also flew in to help me. Because of this failure, we all lost a full day, extra money, and a ton of time. I had to drive further out to another location, and even then I couldn't get a truck until late afternoon. This location is unprofessional, dishonest with pricing, and doesn't respect reservations or customers' time. U-Haul needs to address this kind of treatment immediately

Staff were professional and accommodating when I booked a smaller size online and upgraded to a bigger truck once I got there and saw the features. Everything was seamless. It was my first time renting so I felt they spoke a little fast as we went to pick up the van. Make sure you check the rental with photo evidence of everything. Checking out was easy we just left the key in the U-Haul. When I got my receipt later, I was charged 5x the amount than quoted. They ask when renting how far you plan to travel, and I told them 40 miles. We went 48. So I called U-Haul and spoke with a very nice customer service lady who helped build me a case. She said that I'd receive a call from the manager in a couple of business days, so I can send photo proof of the mileage being incorrect and get my money back. I did not get any call from the manager during this whole fiasco. Instead, I get refunded $300 but it was still short by $100+. So I called again and another nice lady at the call center helped with the discrepancy and she verbally explained to me the charges and I was refunded another $100. She mentioned I was still short by $8 and that she'd inform the manager. I asked for an updated receipt as well. I never got the updated receipt so I called and spoke with someone at this location who told me that I wouldn't be getting an updated receipt. I can't understand why not but after the inconvenience of holding my card for $500+ and anxiety of this whole fiasco, the least they can do is have the manager call to apologize for their mistake. I was willing to let go of the $8 they owe me, but now I'll never come back here. I feel robbed and cheated since they don't care about their customers with mistakes they've made. And I can't event get a new receipt with the correct mileage! Two stars here is generous.

It was a barely lived/not much stuff rental property, 2 bedroom condo, and after nearly 4 hours, they still hadn't finished loading the truck. The only person that spoke English was the driver, and he wasn't helping much. Apparently, the couldn't figure out how to disassemble a very standard bed (I have photos). Sergio sent another crew member at his cost, which was greatly appreciated because we still had to move from Jupiter to Wellington. The men were polite, but I noticed after the furniture was scuffed, the walls were scuffed... they were beyond slow. The price was affordable and reasonable considering the service with three men and the travel, etc. Then, a few months ago, I needed a mattress moved. I called them again and we had a pleasant experience, literally moving one mattress 2 miles down road. While I hadn't loved the initial service I received, I found myself in a time crunch so, against my better judgment, I called Sergio again. There isn't much to move and the "difficult" bed was not one of the items. I called on a Sunday and explained I needed to coordinate the move with a friend coming in from out of town to take some of the furniture. The 3 of us agreed to the next Sunday, and Sergio instructed me to text him photos of the items, which I did on Monday. Having not heard back, I called him again. As we went to confirm, we realized Sunday was Easter and it couldn't be done. He had a slot for Friday, so we asked him to hold it until my friend got clearance to take off work. Later that night, at 8:23, I texted Sergio the confirmation as it was my understanding it was a business phone; each text has a signature line that says "Big Star Moving". I also called and left a voicemail. He replied back that he was in a family meeting and to call back tomorrow. I said thank you, I was just confirming. I have the screenshots. The next morning, Sergio texted me about his "special rates" and that after the base, it would be $20 for each 15 min increment. I expressed my surprise at the cost and told him honestly, his movers are VERY slow. At this point, Sergio became enraged and offended. He accused me of being upset because he didn't answer at night (screenshots will he provided if possible). I told him the cost was fine, I just needed to get it done, and he refused unless I brought a quote to him from another moving company. At this point, I called him. He'd initially told me he could schedule me for Sunday and it's not really my fault he didn't properly look at his calendar. His lack of diligence caused a huge upset in our plans, but we adjusted. I told him that my friend and I are of different beliefs and didn't know it was Easter; but he should have. I told him I'd pay up front but he refused and gave me a lecture on how you can't buy respect. That's fine Sergio, you also can't buy away a negative review. By the way, in less than 45 min, I found a company that beat his price. Spare yourself the headache and avoid this rinky dink sh*t show. You can do better. *please note that on Sunday, April 5th, Sergio booked us, not realizing HIMSELF it was Easter. The only reason I was insistent on getting it done with them was because my friend had already made arrangements and I was afraid another company wouldn't have the new time available. I offered $500 because his base price plus the $20/15 min would've come out to about $500 with as slow as they are. Happy to provide more documentation and texts on this from Sergio if necessary :)*

I am thankful I was able to grab a vehicle so my wife has something, but the lack of customer service is astounding. I was able to get my dealer to give me another rental from elsewhere and because I prepaid, I did not get any refund for the unused time on the contract. The employee on shift said it basically had to be a credit card. Her exact words were "God dammit" when I tried to pay using a debit card from wells Fargo. She then told me to walk some miles down the road to Enterprise in the rain, rolling my luggage behind me. I can't help but wonder if the employee on shift simply made the decision unilaterally. I have never been asked for a utility bill to rent a car and I have rented from budget many times in the past, all good experiences. Not sure what happened here.
