This place is also referred to as the Watersong Wild Space. The weather could not have been more perfect on that Sunday, January 4, 2026. It's not the most amazing place due to the dry climate and flat lands, but for Midland it was a cool find - plus it was all free. Free parking. Free entrance. I could definitely hear the droning tires on the Interstate nearby, but viewing nature was refreshing. A caliche road leads to the parking lot. Look out for mesquite trees that might scratch your vehicle up if you get too close. The biggest drawback had to be that dogs are not allowed. No bicycles allowed either. Just please have your party dispose of their trash properly at the main pedestrian entrance. Closed on Monday.

This tucked away museum has lots of History and fun things for all ages. There is a curator who…read morewill give you information and suggestions what to see. This is free and fun. We saw the inside of AT&T bldg. a display of old farm and oil equipment with posted signs what they were used for. We saw in inside of a pull car with history of people who worked on the telegraph and railroad. You can walk thru the inside of a caboose. Visit the Rattlesnake AirBase Museum/history of the air base that was in Pyote. There is a remnant of the church steeple that was on the airbase. So much to see. The Holland House, Coca Cola Museum and Heritage Museum are all in one place! Thumbs up!!

Went to the annual CAF airshow. It was really cool. They had a lot of vintage planes and current…read moremilitary aircraft on display. The aerobatic stunt planes put on a good show. The first two were better than the third one (he flew back and forth in front of the crowd with some James Bond music playing in the background; it was kinda cheesy). The F-16 was probably the best performance of the day, although the C-17 demonstration was good, too. They had plenty of food, vendor, and beer tents set up; so I was never too far from a frosty cold beverage. All in all, a good day and time well spent! p.s. the pictures were taken w/ my iphone; and they're kinda bad.
