Went in on a Monday to replace a new watch pin and to engrave my wedding band. "No problem" they…read moresay. $15 for the watch and $20 for engraving. I write down what I want engraved and they tell me it'll be ready for tomorrow (Tuesday). Arrive Tuesday afternoon and the watch is done but the engraving isn't ready. Ok, pretty inconvenient since I live in the South end but I'll go kill an hour so they can finish the job. Come back to pick up the ring and they have engraved the wrong date! They'll fix it but you'll have to come back tomorrow. Wednesday, third trip back to Imperial Fine Jewelers to pick up a botched engraving job on my wedding band. I walk in and the staff makes jokes that it isn't ready. Ha ha! Not funny. I look at the ring and the engraving is correct but now it's crooked and completely off center! I point it out to staff and they say I'm wrong and run off to another counter. By this time, I just want my ring back and to get out of there. He tells me that engraving is usually $70 and he'll give me a great deal of &45+tax for everything even though I was initially told $35 on Monday. Avoid this place! Shady dealings, poor craftsmanship, and obviously zero customer service skills.

On my way there, I took my wedding ring off (valued over $6000), to put on some handcream. Being very nervous about the meeting, and almost late, I quickly jumped out of the car, not realizing I hadn't put my ring back on, but had instead left it in my lap. Of course when I jumped out of the car the ring fell to the ground, and I didn't realize it. The people at APNA Jewellers found my ring! My car was parked right in front of their store, and when they went in to open the storer they say my ring on the ground. My meeting was at 9:30, I didn't realize that my ring was missing until 11:30. I went into the jewellery store, just in case they had happened to find it. How lucky was I when the answer was yes. How lucky am I that these people, at APNA Jewellers, are honest people. Sure I have insurance, but this is the ring that I was married with, it is one of a kind, and while I could get another one made with the insurance money, it would never be the one I wore on my wedding day. He advised the owner of what he wanted to order, filled out a form and provided his VISA number to place the order. He was advised that he would receive a rendering of the final design once it was completed and that the ring would be reay in 3 - 6 weeks. He never rreceived a rendering; however, the order was placed and his VISA was charged the full price of the ring right away. He had no idea what the final ring would look like to this day, we still don't know. He had to propose with a loaner ring instead of the real thing. Once the six week period had passed and my son and his fiancee never received any call or update, my soon to be daughter in law called Honest Solitaire to check on what was happening - only to be told pretty rudely by the owner that it was actually going to take 16 weeks. That would have the completion date at January 22, 2023. On December 3, 2022, my son and his fiancee went into the Honest Solitaire store in Calgary to speak to someone in person about the missing rendering and to find out what was going on as nobody would answer their calls or messages. The employees at the store that they had no idea on the status of the ring, but in fact it would only take 12 weeks maximum, and the ring would arrive either just before Christmas or the week after. As we expected - it never came. Our son and his fiancee called multiple times for the next two months without any answer until finally they picked up the phone in late January 2023. We were told the ring was finished and being shipped. The website ways shipping takes two to seven business days. We were also supposed to receive a tracking number, but never did. Our son and fiancee gave Honest Solitaire two weeks to give time for any delays, but heard nothing. Several calls were made after this two week period and then found out the owner went away on vacation and apparently the two staff members in the storefront are not allowed to accept any packages when the owner is gone - so even if the ring did arrive, our kids would not have received it. The staff members in the storefront couldn't even say if the ring had or had not arrived, nor could they say where the ring was at this time. Our soon to be daughter in law called and texted Honest Solitaire multiple times in February 2023 trying to set up a meeting, but all of these requests and messages were ignored. I booked a consultation meeting through the Honest Solitaire website, specifically requesting the owner as the consultant, as a means to get a meeting with her to discuss the ring that has never been produced, yet paid for months earlier. When we arrived at the Honest Solitaire storefront at 11 am on February 18, 2023, we were told that the owner never works in the store and that one of the young workers could help me with the consultation. I advised that we specifically made an appointment with the owner online, as this was a choice on their website, and that we wanted to speak directly with the owner about the ring ordered last October. After much discussion with the young staff in the store, who clearly do not know anything about the operations or their website policies, we asked for the owner to call immediately me to discuss a full refund of the purchase price for the ring that has never been delivered. The owner did call a few hours later and was extremely confrontational and rude with me. She said that the ring was ready in December and that our son and his fiancee knew that. I then asked her that if the ring was ready in December where is it? Her response was that they "ship rings in batches" and could not advise as to when the ring would actually arrive. I asked her for a full refund and she refused. She did say a partial refund might happen but could not tell me how much would be refunded or when. I advised that this was not reasonable and asked again for a full refund of the purchase price which was refused. The following words are courtesey of my son and his fiancee.... "It has been almost 24 weeks since we ordered our ring. We have no idea what it looks like, where it is or when it will get here. At this point we don't even know for sure if its been started or not because this company has terrible communication and absolutely zero follow through. We have had to reschedule our engagement shoot twice and I have gone the majority of my engagement without a ring. We've been given multiple different completion dates, stories and quite frankly lies about what is going on with our ring. The store puts you in a position where they take your money and then hang you out to dry until your ring comes in 6+ months later......or not. Buying an engagement ring is not a game - don't waste your time on this company."

I ordered my custom ring back in December and had to buy a wedding band from elsewhere as I did not get it in August! There was minimal communication and I had to reach out about 10 times through phone, email and messaging to get any answers, I was always told a "couple of weeks" every time and once that passed I was told another timeline if I could even get a hold of them. I found them very defensive and always blaming something (ie was on vacation, production delays, low staffing etc..), it was suppose to be done within 5 weeks but 9 months later and nothing... My fiancé ordered my engagement ring from here so I thought everything would go smoothly but now I would never recommend this business to anyone. I highly suggest looking at different places to order your rings from. I love to support local but ordering from here just caused more problems, there are other small business you can order from that are 100 times better.
