Unfortunately, the alcohol prices were absolutely appalling and really put a damper on the evening. Over $20 for a beer and nearly $30 for a mixed drink is simply outrageous!! You go to a concert to enjoy yourself, and then you're essentially paying astronomical prices just to have a drink. These prices are higher than what you see at Fenway Park or Yankee Stadium, which is hard to justify. This isn't Boston or New York City. The food trucks were just okay. Nothing particularly memorable but the alcohol pricing was by far the biggest disappointment. If the venue needs to generate more revenue, I would much rather see some of that cost reflected honestly in the ticket price upfront than arrive at the venue and be shocked by ridiculously inflated drink prices. At least then, people know what they're paying for before they get there. It's really disappointing because the venue itself has so much going for it. The concert experience, setting, and atmosphere were all excellent. But the extreme drink prices felt incredibly greedy and out of touch with the people who are coming there to enjoy an evening. Because of that, I honestly don't know if I would return. It's a shame that such a great venue could leave such a negative impression over something that seems so unnecessary.

There are food and drinks vendors, a merchandise store, and not a bad seat in the house. Ticket prices are more than reasonable and a great way to spend an evening rooting for the local team! We had a good time all around. It was really great to see the band playing in support of the team and lots of kids and families enjoying a night out. We will be back for sure.

There are two levels of seating - blue (molded plastic back) and red (benches with back support) - with reasonable prices, and pretty much every seat has a good view of the game. The snack bar is tiny and basic - hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, popcorn, soda - but everything is tasty. If you're looking for a fun time out for the family, this is a great choice at a great price.

(Naturally, the small children gravitated toward it- plus it was an eyesore) -Few prices posted in the gift shop; had to ask clerk -Fun Zone for kids was closed and in disrepair. No gate or sign indicating that it was closed until you walked all the way in only to see an empty area with the remains of a ride; the two staff members I spoke to had no idea if or when it would be back up and running. Kids were disappointed. Overall, would not return to this stadium unless some major improvements are made.

New Britain Stadium is the home of the New Britain Bees baseball team. They are a member of the…read moreAtlantic League and are not affiliated with Major League Baseball. Player salaries are capped at $3,000 per month. The league's website says that "more than 40% of Atlantic League players have major league service time" and that "the league averages more than 50 player contract sales to MLB organizations each year". Today we saw the New Britain Bees play the Long Island Ducks on the Fourth of July. Admission was free, seriously all you had to do was show up, go to the ticket window for a ticket, and give that ticket to someone at the gate and you were in. Parking was a modest five bucks, so no complaints there. We went up to the Alvarium Beer Pavilion and enjoyed a White Denim "It tastes like a Blue Moon" and a Cremo "It tastes like a Yeungling". Beers were 7 bucks a glass. After the beers, we grabbed lunch and got a hot dog and a kielbasa for $4 each. They were pretty good sized portions and tasted great (free sauerkraut is a nice touch). The stadium corridors and restrooms are painted bumblebee black and yellow and the stadium looked to be in excellent condition. The staff we interacted with was very nice, especially the young lady at the Alvarium Beer Pavilion who looked on in disgust and fascination as the hot dog eating contest in Coney Island unfurled before us on live TV. We had a lot of laughs wise-cracking about what we saw. Had it not been 96 degrees, we would have stayed a little longer, but free admission, cold beer, a great hot dog, and the crack of a ball against a wooden bat made for a few great hours. This is a review of the Yale University athletic fields just across Central Avenue from the…read morestadium. During the 1950s, these athletic fields surrounded a complex of married student housing units. The address for this complex was 70 Central Avenue. The houses were quonset huts with corrugated metal roofs. In the summer, we threw punctured water hoses over our roof to keep it wet and to cool down the inside. Each quonset hut was divided in half, for use for two different families. The front door for each half resided at opposite sides of the quonset hut. The family occupying the other half of our quonset was the Anamunthado family from Bermuda. The inside of their home had a bad smell. My photographs show me, my mother, me and my sister at Halloween, one of my parties inside our quonset hut showing my friends from Edgewood Elementary School, and me and my sister inside the quonset hut wearing Davy Crockett hats. The athletic fields to the north were used for football practice, and I enjoyed viewing the large sleds with huge pads, where the pads were used for football players for shoving and pushing. Another athletic field was indoors, and this was an indoor polo field where students could ride horses and play polo. On a couple of occasions, I cut across the athletic field to the north on my way to school, and I crawled under the fence at the northeast corner of the field, but usually I took the sidewalk the entire way to Edgewood School. In one of my photos, you can see a girl (not a relative) wearing an Edgewood School shirt. In 1960, the quonset huts were torn down and we moved to Seattle.

The Bridgewater Country Fair gives you the quintessential country fair experience - complete with…read moregiant parade, tractor pull competition, pie-eating contest, livestock show, flower exhibit, art exhibit, baking contest, home crafts, live music, and more. You can eat everything from fried dough (as big as your face) to BBQ chicken to chili dogs to corn on the cob - and then worry about keeping it all down as you ride the various daredevil rides (or play it safe on the Ferris wheel or merry-go-round). There's a big midway filled with games for all skill levels and promising prizes of epic proportions. It's been going on for 60+ years and continues to be a huge draw in the area. Don't let the $8 entry dissuade you if you're into this sort of thing - remember it benefits the Bridgewater volunteer fire department (you know, guys and women risking their lives for us just because). No beer, however, might legitimately dissuade you - because the only thing more entertaining than a redneck festival is a drunk redneck festival (you or them).
