I am an Alumn from BSNRS cohort 7 but a majority of the experience of my time at Stanbridge was in…read moreBSNLA cohort 6. I finished the BSN program in July of 2025. I received my ATT (approval to test) within one week from my last day. I had the option to test immediately but I had applied to test with accommodations so with limited centers for accommodations I tested 1 month out in August and passed the first time. I worked closely with our Careers Center and the director Dr. Willinger to create an amazing resume right after receiving my license, began applying to jobs immediately and received an invitation to interview within one week for DaVita. Two weeks later I received an invitation to interview for an ER position close to home which was my first choice to build a strong foundation as a new nurse. I know there are a lot of negative comments about this school on here. I have heard and watched a lot of sad and crazy experiences that my friends and other peers endure with staff and faculty throughout my 3.5 years there. I have experienced questionable professors and staff who are obviously there for the paycheck. On the other end, I have met 2x as many INCREDIBLE staff and faculty throughout my time at Stanbridge. People need to understand that this is still a relatively new program and it's still working through a lot of adjustments both within the programs itself, how they handle students, and how they handle staff. But with being new comes an advantage to incoming students because with the help of the right people and resources, there is flexibility and grace that comes with a class or a term that possibly end in a fluke (I.e. bad professors, missing classes due to extreme circumstances, etc.). I understand this is not everyone's experience, but I HAVE seen multiple times where the school does work with students to properly evaluate their knowledge of a subject a second time if there is overwhelming evidence showing it was not properly done the first time. It also is dependent on how an issue is communicated as well. Any nursing program out there is hard and rigorous. Stanbridge is not unique to this. I can confidently say that I went in to the NCLEX feeling so prepared because of how this school preps you. If you follow testing strategies and work closely with the coaches at the end of the program YOU. WILL. PASS. From Term 1 Stanbridge works with students not just on building testing stamina but building testing stamina while sleep deprived. It's not officially an actual thing. They always told us to be well rested and to eat before but, the reality of any nursing program is adequate sleep is simply not possible. You just have to get through each term and pass. Keep moving even if you have a set back, do your best to not stop. I have no idea how many times I thought to myself that I will more than likely not remember anything after the program and I questioned if I really actually learned anything. I have been an ER nurse for almost 7 months now. Every moment of feeling competent, confident, and proud to be a nurse I owe to Stanbridge. While most of my peers in my new grad program have forgotten a lot of basics and high priorities, I am one of the few who still remembers and I am so thankful. I had zero medical background coming into the program. My science gpa at a 3.5 was not competitive enough for CCs, UCs, or CSUs to see me as a priority candidate for their RN program. Stanbridge was the first school to take a chance on me and invest in me. Before Stanbridge I was never the student who was picked for scholarships, awards, or special internships. The last 2 years at Stanbridge I received scholarships every term, was selected for Student Hospital Fellowship, received the Presidential Service Award, and ended the program with the Thomas Fuentes Service Award. This was all because ONE staff member encouraged me to apply each time an opportunity was sent out. The Stanbridge experience is truly what YOU choose to make it. I have met some amazing people with incredible hearts at this school. I loved that I don't need to hike or walk a mile to get to class. I loved that I only needed to be on the ground once or twice a week. Nursing school was THE hardest thing I have ever done. I gave up my entire life for 3 years just to eat, live, breathe, and sleep nursing. You can ensure your success in this program if you want this more than anything else. There will be times where you have to pick school over your family and it sucks. But being on the other side now, it is SO worth it and now I have the rest of my life. My husband is currently in the program now and is in term 4 at the OC campus. He hasn't been in school full time in over 10 years and he is doing amazing. I'm proud to be a nurse and I'm proud to be a Stanbridge Alum. The cost for tuition is pretty steep. If you have a good tribe behind you and can afford to not work during the program, I highly recommend it!

I have had multiple issues at this "university". I was there for business administration BA degree…read more But ever since I've been there it's been hell as the administration is all over the place and there is so much miscommunication. This resulted in me dropping out and going to a better school. They have messed with my financial aid as some of my grants and scholarships would be either taken out and put back in which resulted in me being overcharged for each of the 8 week semester. I also used to cheer there in the athletic department, so for them to keep placing me on financial hold while they messed up my financial aid is beyond frustrating and ridiculous. I have tried to communicate with them multiple times but they never pick up the phone and even when I am there in the office, no one is barely even there to help out. It seems like they do some shady stuff and then they quickly hide their hands behind their back like they didn't do anything wrong. They even referred to me as a damn F1 student when I am a domestic U.S. citizen who has been literally born on United States soil but they refuse to change it and there was no answer. Not to mention the education there is a no go. If you were to ask me what I learned from this "school" I wouldn't even give you a full answer. As I mentioned I was in a business administration bachelors program and some of these classes didn't even associate with business. Like I was in a class for social movements....now you tell me if that's part of business. As well as some of these teachers barley know what they are teaching as they just have use do discussion questions and watch a YouTube video over zoom. I also know other people at the school who have had issues where they had messed up a persons class schedule which resulted in them missing half of their basketball season and they were unable to play. As well as someone who was in the cheer team had issues where they put them in summer classes which was already two weeks in but decided to tell her two weeks later. And as you know already, that could mess up her financial aid as you have to be in attendance in order to receive aid. This place is a major scam and for whoever wants to come to this place either as an international student or a domestic student, run as far away from this place as possible. They only care about money and money only, not for your education and wellbeing. This place practices illegal policies that should be investigated and should be shut down!!

The PA comes in to tell me I'm going home. All I have to do is walk 20 steps. I managed to walk 20 steps. So they felt I qualified to go home. I told the PA I was not going home unless my pain was under control. They gave me morphine and said it would work fairly quickly. It's an hour and a half and I cannot move my elbow or buttocks. I am in excruciating pain when I try to move. I asked the PA if they needed to send home a few patients because they needed the space. I told her all I had heard from the very beginning is that you won't have to stay. I told her I no longer trusted the decisions of this hospital. I also told her I was not going home with the pain I'm now experiencing. If something is good. I wanna call it good. If something is bad. I wanna call it bad. This class was a whole circus... She would show up late with these crusty PowerPoints from 2015 of 200 pages, complains about her schedule and how "overworked' she is and how her ADHD makes it impossible for her to stay organized. If you ask a question she hits you with the classic, 'Do your own research,' as if we didn't pay actual MONEY to be taught. Girl, WE are the ones researching while YOU sit there reading off PowerPoints you copy and pasted during the Obama administration. I have no idea how they still hires her. She never grades anything on time-like literally weeks go by and the gradebook is just empty. No feedback, no comments, nothing. She's super aggressive for no reason too. One time a kid asked about a canvas assignment that had magically disappearedand she snapped and said she could 'call security' if people kept 'acting up. And forget getting help. Prof. Susan Gil literally never answers emails, never clarifies anything, and then acts shocked when everyone is confused. Honestly feels like she uses grades as revenge when she's having a bad day. By mid-semester HALF the class had dropped.. Honestly, overall the campus is actually not that bad, but particular individual?... NOT worth the money, the stress, or the brain cells I lost. Take it at another college.

I received my Juris Doctorate from Western State College of Law in 2015…read more I chose Western State because of its strong Business and Immigration Law curriculum and because it is the oldest law school in Orange County, with the largest alumni network, and consistently achieves among the highest bar pass rates in California. I was also impressed with the personal attention from the staff when I was deciding which school to attend -- a level of care and commitment that continues to this day. Western State is one of those rare institutions where everyone knows your name. Law school is not easy, to say the least. For me though, the accessibility of our professors and their willingness to help us until we get it makes all the difference! While many of the professors at Western State are well known leaders in their fields, they have always been available to meet with me privately or with my study group to offer whatever help we need. I benefited from this sort of academic and personal support many times, especially during my first two years! The commitment of Western State faculty and staff to promoting social justice and ethical behavior within the legal, public, and business arenas also sets Western State apart in a way that is both inspirational to students and extremely valuable to our alumni and the communities they serve. Interacting with faculty and staff in my role as editor of the school newspaper and representing the students as SBA Vice-President has given me the privilege to get to know almost everyone at Western State. The more I learn about what they do inside and outside school, the more I see what incredible opportunities there are for people with passion and purpose to use the tools offered here to make a meaningful difference in people's lives. The combination of practical skills training, exam preparation, and rigorous legal analysis at Western State also prepared me to handle actual client intakes and write-ups for the Legal Aid Society of Orange County. The attorneys there frequently comment how well-prepared Western State students are to get right into the mix and deal with a wide range of real life legal issues. Perhaps most surprising to many incoming students is the incredible spirit and camaraderie of the student body. Whether it's sharing class notes, discussing legal issues, lifting your spirits when you look tired or confused, or noticing your new outfit or haircut, the students here are in it together. The academic and administrative approach and culture at Western State guides and encourages us to work collaboratively to develop what we need to succeed. The quality and number of close friendships I've developed here is extraordinary, and I can't imagine doing as well as I have without their support! I look forward to meeting or speaking with new or prospective students interested in learning more about my experience at Western State, and I encourage you to contact me any time! The individual and structural challenges my students and their families faced helped inspire me to pursue law.
