They do have luggage storage so we were able to go to our appointment that day. Requires AU $100 deposit but refundable upon check-out. I picked a room with a terrace coz I knew the rooms are small. I personally like it. Not so roomy with 2 small luggages but we were able to work around it. Importantly, the queen bed is comfy. Room is bright with wall to wall windows and a glass door leading to the terrace. They have those blinds u buy at IKEA. Room is clean. Water pressure is fantastic. Shampoo and soap lather and clean. Excellent quality hair dryer and straightener. AC and heater are both available. No coffee maker but instant coffee and an electric kettle are provided. Comes with free breakfast. It's not buffet but offers delicious and filling choices. Our flight was early and so we won't be able to use the other breakfast vouchers. They provided me a refund of AU$25 pp. Breakfast provided at the restaurant on site, Frankie & George. This is definitely way better than those Super 8 motels in the US. We spent 2 nights only in Brisbane. So this hotel served its purpose for me. Highly recommending this hotel and its on-site restaurant, Frankie & George.

Out of all of the hotels available in Brisbane, I had to randomly pick one that I had already frequented. It wasn't all that bad though because I certainly had not had a bad time previously, and had picked it because it was one of the cheaper options available. Okay, the rooms (or at least my room) was pretty small, but I guess that is what you pay for, so I can't really complain all that much. Hey, despite it being in the centre of the city I could hardly hear a thing from outside. If there was one little gripe it was that the rooms were a little stuffy, but then again they did have free wifi so I guess that makes everything all right (though make sure you listen to their instructions because you might discover that you have burnt through all of your allocation before you know it).

At the time, I was given an…read moreexcellent rate for a studio room by receiving a discount for being one of the over 2100 victims involved in a then-recent accommodation company's bankruptcy on the Gold Coast. The Mantra and Breakfree properties were kind enough to offer a discount on bookings, as many people had to wind up rebooking accommodations as a result of this incident. This was much appreciated! As I arrived at the property at around 11:30 a.m., my studio room was not yet ready. The reception staff was very kind and allowed me to store my luggage until check-in. I could tell right off that this property stays very busy, which is never a bad sign. It was great to be able to explore the area until later on in the afternoon. The Mantra is in a perfect location right on the Marine Parade, centrally located to just about everything. Not to mention some of the best surf breaks in the world! Everything in the studio room, which turned out to be room 208, was in excellent working condition with no excessive wear. I did have some trouble with the wireless internet connection after I had prepaid for three days, but I cannot fault the Mantra for this, as the internet company is separate. Turns out I was able to get a partial refund with no problems. It seems like it took the hot water about two seconds longer to get hot in comparison to some of the other properties I had stayed at on this holiday, but it wasn't a big concern. Some of the amenities in the room included a powerful air conditioning/heating unit, fully-stocked kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, utensils, and just about everything one would need for a holiday. Ample closet space, queen size bed, a medium-sized balcony overlooking the courtyard (unfortunately all of the one bedroom ocean view apartments stayed constantly booked up until my arrival, but I did try!), a small ceiling-mounted television set, and a bathroom with a washer and dryer. The swimming pool, spa and barbecue areas were very modern and well-maintained. I'd definitely stay at the Mantra Coolangatta Beach again. My only regret was not being able to find a vacant ocean view unit, but I'll definitely be back. Great staff, good waves, and an overall fun area.

The person at the site when we returned the car was unnecessarily aggressive and rude. The car was sold over the phone was 'new'. Maybe it was 10 years ago. It was unsafe and a cheap car with no modern features. For the price I could have had something larger and newer with other companies. did complain but their offer was Hobson's Choice. As it was a huge weekend with no rentals to be found anywhere. We were stuck with it. Not sure how they have such a high star rating. Really disappointing and would 100% avoid.

This is a regular train that just happens to stop at the international and domestic terminals of…read morethe airport. (These are separate stops.) The implication of this is that there's nowhere to stow your suitcase. Bags clogged the aisles or blocked seats as a result. I went during an off-peak time, so it was okay. But if you go when it is busy, this may be a problem. I bought a return ticket at the stand in baggage claim, so there was a bit of a discount. Your "ticket " is not magnetic. When you get on and off, you need to locate the staff member and show them you Airtrain receipt (what I was given to go into the city) or return ticket (which was about the size of a business card). The staff member then lets you in or out. It did take about 20 minutes to downtown, as advertised. If you are going to the Gold Coast, they have an express train, but you have to change trains at Eagle Station. Stations are good at having lifts, but there are other problems. At the airport's domestic terminal, there was a gap between the platform and the train. Worse was Roma Street. It was announced there was a gap, but actually there was quite a step to tackle. One wheel on my suitcase got caught in the metal slats at the train door. Finally someone came to help me; another passenger freed my suitcase and placed it on the platform, then lent me a hand so I could make the step. Msny thanks to that wonderful fellow traveler.

But then last night I landed at the Brisbane airport and thought I was in a parallel universe. You can catch public transport to and from the airport in Brisbane and it takes you to Gold Coast? Well hold your horse and carriage there sir, I'm going to save me some dosh. The train runs every 15 minutes or so and there are both express lines and lines which take every stop. It is clean-ish and has the usual public transport random suspects, but most people are travellers so you don't feel like you stick out like a sore thumb. Ticket staff are helpful at the counter and for $16.50 one way (compared to $50 or so) plus free wifi on the train this is an easy way to get around.

Suitcases are grouped in sizes with large tables throughout the shop so you can open them out flat and take a good look at them. The staff know all the rules about weight, size etc for flights and cruises and know when to assist or when to stand back and let you look by yourself. Most luggage here has a 5 or 10 year warranty and if you have a problem, you just bring it back ie: you don't need to go to the manufacturer. Antler, IT, Samsonite plus the cheapies. They have it all.
