On the morning of the hearing, I contacted the company to obtain the status of service and any service attempt information. Because the court required detailed information regarding service attempts, a court clerk also contacted the company seeking the dates and times of any attempts. At that time, the requested information was not provided. My hearing proceeded without the service information, and the matter was concluded shortly thereafter due to the lack of completed service. Several hours later, at approximately 12:27 PM on March 9, 2026, after the hearing had already ended, the company sent a report containing alleged service attempts from March 5 through March 8. My concern is not simply whether service attempts were made. My concern is that the information was not made available before the hearing, when it was actually needed. As a result, the service had no practical value to me at the time of the court proceeding. After I disputed the charge with my credit card issuer, the company continued to send invoices and informed me that finance charges would accumulate and that the account may eventually be sent to collections.

I may get a more favorable outcome, 2. understand my rights better and what my options are, and 3. feel comfortable knowing I had a lawyer looking out for me. I paid a $3500 deductible, and none of those expectations were met. Instead: 1. My outcome with my case ended up being exactly the same as when we started. 2. I didnt learn anything or feel more understanding of what lawyers even do. 3. I felt better handling my situation without them. I talked to my lawyer maybe 2 times on the phone. They literally did the same exact negotiation I was doing prior, only they charge $40-$80 an email. Where it stands today, I paid $3500 (they waived the $60 overage though, thanks!) and I am having a hard time knowing if there was any value of that money spent at all. My advice: do your research, ask yourself if you even need representation, and if you do decide to work with a lawyer, ask them lots of hard questions before!
