I would say you should expect craft beer prices, as that these are craft cider.

It has made our summer to have this convenient location with top quality food. The owners and their daughter go above and beyond to make sure customers are happy. This is a must stop when visiting our hometown in Damariscotta! My friends love when i show up with the surprise baked good of the day!! Thank you for making Damariscotta known for being a friendly and welcoming town!!

Even the non-gluten foods are mediocre at best. Total waste of money and barely edible. I can't help but wonder who is writing these 4 & 5 stars reviews‼ I do know for a fact that a negative review has been taken down because there was one here a week ago that's no longer here. Can't help but wonder about others...The food is atrocious yet 4 stars?? I'm a long time (30 year) gluten free person, not by choice. Back 30 years ago I was making my own gf baked goods, but the chemistry was early stages so most recipes didn't hit the mark. GF baking has come a LONG way since then, however not at this place--still dry and overly sweet, or wet and undercooked--most items barely resemble their description. To add insult to the injury of the expensive and surprisingly bad food, staff is unwelcoming and quite rude right out of the gate. Do yourself a favor--go to Wild Flour Bakery in Brunswick for FABULOUS GF baked goods. Or, if you're in Portland hit up Holy Donut for gluten free donuts that are actual donuts! YUM. Both are worth the drive!

Think of it as a large farm with a rustic barn with roaming chickens everywhere. Even a few chickens inside greeting all the guests during our visit! The feel and look of the barn reminded me and my wife of our barn wedding! Definitely a spot during nice weather with so much space available and so much nature to soak up! Then their drink offerings are so huge and vast especially for this area of Maine. Give their house made ciders a try that are not too sweet but have tons of flavor. If cider isn't your thing then don't worry they still got you! Their drink menu is huge with beers from all over the world, wines, cocktails, and on and on. Then often they also have food trucks so grab a bite to eat or bring some of your own snacks if the food truck of the day isn't your ideal meal! The staff were phenomenal as well with their kindness and knowledge. Also often hosting live music as well so bring your friends and family for a night of drinks, live music and enjoying the outdoors. This place is a must try if you are in the area but I think it's also worth the trip even if it's a little further out! I look forward to our return trip.

From the owner: Our mission is simple. Make great cider…read more Each fall, Kennebec Cider sets out to find the best, most flavorful apples Maine has to offer. We start by using all of the apples in our small orchard and then travel throughout Kennebec County and beyond to find as many unique and delicious cider apples as we can. Next the bins of apples get pressed, poured into the tank and ready for fermentation. The yeast is added and the tank is brought to the fermentation room. Time to let the yeast do the work (and it takes patience!). Primary fermentation can take anywhere from two weeks to several months. Once it's fermented to dryness, we "rack" the cider off it's lees. This means we pump the juice off the lees and into another tank. Depending on what we are making, we will allow the cider to age or add blueberries or quince for our other varieties. Allowing the cider additional time to age gives it more complexity, clarity and flavor. As soon as the cider gets the flavor we are looking for, we are ready to bottle. We add a small amount of sugar to the juice which restarts the fermentation in the bottle allowing it to carbonate over several weeks. Bottle conditioning adds a unique effervescence that is hard to find in other ciders. As soon as the bubbles are just perfect, it's time to bottle pasteurize to halt the yeast while keeping just a bit of sweetness. This process results in the Kennebec Cider we love and are proud to produce.
