Love shopping at Vinolio, they are always so welcoming and helpful! Their wine selection is truly the best I have found in Maine and their selection of gourmet foods, cheeses, olive oils, vinegars, and homemade sandwiches are simply terrific! It's such a cute shop to browse around in as well, so many great items to look at and get tempted by. I never leave there empty handed and always look forward to going back for more, such a special store to have in Belfast! read more

Road trip from Brunswick to find this little gem of a store. Amazing sandwiches...the muffuletta is to die for! The olive salad on it...buy a jar to take home! The owners are awesome and their resident wine and cheese expert, Alex, is a certified sommelier...it was a true pleasure to learn, sample, and experience. The assortment of wines, vinegars, balsamic and olive oils is impressive and extensive for such a small location. Use EXTREME CAUTION - this stuff is very addictive. I tasted a few of the infused balsamics and ended up buying a bottle of the Alfoos Mango. I have eaten Caprese salads every night this week! The taste is so refreshing and perfect for summer. I have since re-ordered and added a few additional products. Can't wait to review those as well. My in-store experience was amazing as well. No pressure to buy anything. They just wanted to show off their amazing products. read more

The town of Belfast is adorable and has lots to commend it not the least of which is this specialty oil and vinegar shop. There are rows and rows of delicious and custom olive oils and vinegars from which to sample and choose. It's overwhelming really but definitely fun. The day we visited there were two lovely women working in the store who were very welcoming and helpful. We spent some time sampling the oils and vinegars, perusing various kinds of sea salts and the other well curated specialty items. It is a pretty store with everything set out nicely. It's a great place to get a few items for your own larder but it is also a terrific place to stock up on gifts for the holidays or hostess gifts. We bought a blackberry ginger balsamic vinegar and a maple balsamic vinegar. They are both great as counterpoints to a salad of bitter greens like arugula but can also be used as glazes on meats. We are in this part of Maine fairly frequently so we will most definitely be back soon for some stocking stuffer gifts. read more

Wonderful shop. Classic olive oils and much more: flavors from every realm. Then vinegars to match or complement, local fabulous chocolates, olives, salt and wine and ! Be sure to attend a wine- tasting or one of their exquisite dinners. Love this place. read more

On the way to Bangor we decided to stop by Belfast (super cute little town - kind of underestimated in my opinion). We parked outside of Vinolio so I stopped in. TONS of custom flavor olive oils and vinegars. I was excited to buy some porcini salt (highly recommend) and to find a great wine selection (Mirabelle sparkling wine - awesome). The lady who helped me was super friendly and knowledgeable and after finding out we were new to Belfast gave us some great tips (the Harbor Walk, Chases Daily and Darby's for lunch). read more

Vinolio recently opened in beautiful downtown Belfast. It is a curated collection of fine olive oils, balsamic vinegars, sea salts, wines, beers, baked goods, cheeses, imported and specialty foods, and more. I went to the opening night. I appreciate good food but I have never driven out of my way to go to an olive oil tasting. Perhaps I was spoiled by my Italian relatives pressing their own olives from Alta Villa Silentina and smuggling half gallons back into my homeland secure kitchen. Vinolio is a beautifully renovated space in a classic Maine waterfront city that looks like part of it was dragged out of Ireland. The tasting was fantastic with different flavors popping as I tried oils and vinegars that were wonderful. I settled on a couple of each. Then I bought a loaf of locally baked French bread and took some oil and vinegar to my weekly poker game where it was received with gusto. We lied and quaffed while savoring the oil-vinegar-and bread. The store is welcoming, has a great web site so you can order from afar, knowledgeable staff and lots more delectables to add while you are shopping. Eat well. Here are a couple of the fun tips and pointers about this little place: - You can taste test any of the mixed oils/vinegars that you want with little tasting cups and small spickets to pour the taste into it. You can mix grapefruit and sunflower and get a tasty topping for a green salad or throw in some apricot vinegar and then you really can go salad wild. - Once you partake in one of the bottles of dressing/oil you can bring the bottle back in to refil at a discounted price and get your card stamped to earn rewards then they reseal the bottle with a gold foil top. - The staff is EXTREMELY friendly and so welcoming to those that might not know what to do in an oil/vinegar shoppe. Really disappointing customer service, to say the least…read more I was a big fan of Dafni products from when I first saw them at the farmer's market in Falmouth, years ago. I loved their oils so much that I tracked them down to their shop (then in Saco). I stopped in whenever I worked in that direction, and sometimes even made a special trip. I was there on one of their last days in the shop, and was sad that I wasn't going to be able to go anymore. Apparently, things have changed. I recently started on the Mediterranean Diet and was looking for a steady supply of olive oil. I remembered Lakonia, and was delighted to see that they are shipping products. I ordered a bottle of EVOO and the drizzling oil samples. Unfortunately, I didn't taste the EVOO before using it (since I had never had an issue with their oils before), and used a good amount to roast veggies for the week. I was ill afterward. When I took a taste of the remainder, I found that it was rancid. I looked closely at the bottle and it said "2016 New Release Harvest." This was 2021. I sent them an email through their customer contact form, asking for a replacement or refund. My experience in the past has been that they were friendly and responsive to their customers. However, this time the response took me by surprise. The first thing they said was that no one else had complained about that batch (how is that relevant to my experience?). Then they said they don't put dates on their labels, and would never send out five-year-old oil. I sent them pictures of the label on the bottle (with the date), and their response was that they're just trying to figure out what happened, and would send me a refund. They asked me to send back the bottle for them to taste, so I did, and shipping it back cost me $8.50. I asked how they would send the refund and the curt reply was "however you paid for it." When I asked when I could expect it, they replied (the next day) "three minutes ago." I couldn't believe how rude the whole interaction was from the time I notified them of my experience. And although I asked them to refund what I paid to ship back the rancid oil so they could taste it, they declined. I went from a huge fan of these products to someone who will never purchase from them again. Hope your experience is better than mine. I'll be buying from Fiore from now on.

The sunrise smoothie was equally bland. Looked nothing like the photo. My smoothie was a pale pink whereas the photo has a smoothie that looks orange like a sunrise. Overpriced garbage. I won't be back.
