We had called/ requested multiple companies for pricing and availability, and from the first phone call we knew this company was different than all the rest, and that Michael really loves what he does. We had decided to do a "DIY" wedding, and honestly - probably could not have pulled it off as successful as we did without his help, talent, and personal investment in our event. He was easy to contact over both email and phone, and when we got busy and overwhelmed, he stayed on top of us to make sure that he had all the information he needed. The wedding outline he uses and phone/email conversations helped guide and structure our entire night and he worked to really get a feel for the atmosphere we were trying to achieve ... He managed to turn a ballroom in a historical house into a fun, yet classy, dance party that incorporated BOTH my wife's love for early 2000's dance music and brought out my 90's punk/ alternative! While still getting younger family members and parents and grandparents out on the dance floor. We used the North fork Rustic Decor DJ booth (which I'm pretty sure he built himself!) after DJ Michael saw photos of the space and recommended it, and it fit perfectly! And when we stumbled during the cake cutting (we did not have a Maitre D - and neither of us knew what to do next, or who cuts first) ... I look up and there is DJ Michael. He had stepped down from the stage and DJ booth, came to our table, and discreetly guided us through it, to flawlessly look like we knew what we were doing! There was at least a few more moments just like this, from nailing our entrance, to making sure we were served first from the Food Truck, and speeches went smooth... Rented a Waterslide for a backyard birthday party (11am-3pm). Bald man setting up even confirmed that our party was from 11am-3pm. When the water slide was set up, we were told that they would be back at night for pick up. The guys showed up at 2:45pm, I happened to be outside, I said to them, wow you guys are early?!? I was approached with the excuse that they were checking to see how the slide was doing. I said come on in, thinking they would check and leave since they said pick up would be at night. They walked into the backyard with a large hand truck, bald man went straight to my hose and closed the water knob from my home to the hose, walked over to the slide, told us that the water line was too high, to which I advised that he pointed to a specific seam and not the sides, he did admit that he only pointed to one seam and apologized for being wrong, told us to tell the kids that are currently on the slide to get one last trip down since they needed to pack up. I told the bald man that they were early! He acted like he didn't know the time and asked what time is it? I said, 2:53pm and politely asked if they could please leave the party and wait outside to which I will call them at 3pm when the party was scheduled to be over. All of this happened while the party was still going on, party guests were stunned at the behavior and unprofessionalism. At exactly 3pm, I personally went outside and went to get them, I thought this was very unprofessional and will not be renting anything from this company again or referring anyone to them. TO NOT USE THIS COMPANY- WILL RUIN YOUR EVENT…read more If you're considering hiring this company for an important event, especially an outdoor event, I strongly encourage you to read our experience before booking. We paid $700 for what was supposed to be the centerpiece of our daughter's first birthday. Instead, approximately 20 minutes before our guests arrived, the display began falling apart. The shimmer wall separated, balloon sections detached, and the entire structure collapsed before the party even started. The owner, Nicolette, never came to our event herself. Instead, she sent assistants to perform the installation. During setup, one of the assistants actually asked us if we had a rock because they didn't have enough sandbags or weight to properly secure the display. When we told her we didn't, she responded, "I was just given these materials. You'll have to take it up with the owner." That should have been our first warning sign. A professional balloon company charging hundreds of dollars should arrive fully equipped to safely secure its own display--not ask the customer to provide rocks. After the display collapsed, we were forced to search our yard for rocks and concrete blocks ourselves just to try to keep it standing. We also had to reinforce the shimmer wall with packing tape so the party could continue. The second group that arrived to address the collapse introduced themselves as Nicolette's parents. During their visit, they called Nicolette in front of us. During that conversation, we heard them state that the structure had not been properly supported by the assistants because there were not enough sandbags used to stabilize it. They also told us they had previously recommended that Nicolette stop taking jobs on Long Island because she lives upstate and cannot personally service her Long Island clients. We also recognized the stand used for our display as an Amazon stand. In our opinion, it was poor-quality equipment that had no business being used for a $700 professionally installed outdoor balloon display. It appeared lightweight and not suitable for supporting a large outdoor installation. After the event, Nicolette relied on a clause in the contract regarding outdoor displays. However, the weather that day was completely normal for a summer party--approximately 9 mph sustained winds with gusts around 16-17 mph. There were no storms, no severe weather advisories, and no unusually high winds. We expected a professionally installed outdoor balloon display to withstand ordinary weather conditions. Although the contract discusses outdoor displays, we could not find language stating that a customer assumes responsibility if a professionally installed display collapses in ordinary weather. Despite the display collapsing before guests arrived and continuing to fail even after repairs, Nicolette refused to issue a full refund and instead offered only $150 back on a $700 display. You only get one first birthday. Instead of spending those moments celebrating with our daughter, family, and friends, we spent them repairing and stabilizing a display that should have remained standing from the beginning. We have photographs and video documenting the progression of the collapse. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this company. If you're spending hundreds of dollars on a milestone event, ask who will actually be installing your display, what equipment will be used, and how it will be secured. We wish we had Owner will also try and play on words and say that their outdoor set ups aren't guarneteed - I'd say then don't take my money and the job if you can't do it properly do the job.
