Manchester Acupuncture Studio…read more I have been a client/customer/patient of Manchester Acupuncture Studio in Manchester New Hampshire. This is a Community based acupuncture program that serves the greater Manchester area and surrounding towns and cities. I have had greater than 40 acupuncture treatments since the beginning of July. The quality is very good along with the staff. The staff are very accommodating whether its working you in on a busy schedule with no appointment, or if you have some special needs and require a little special assistance. There are sixteen reclining chairs in a large ward like room. Community acupuncture provides an added benefit of group encouragement and healing. The treatments are reasonable; they are $ 15 - $ 35 dollars, on a sliding scale geared to help all participants afford the treatments. Tiny little disposable needles are carefully placed in the arms, legs, feet, hands, and head (depending upon what type of treatment you require). The clinic is also usually able to treat two or three issues, simultaneously. Warm blankets are provided for those who require them, and a bathroom is available inside the clinic. The needles are often not even felt when the "punk" places them, at the most, minor mosquito like bite and any minor pain disappears within a minute or less. The treatments themselves are relatively painless and generally last about an hour, though you are welcome to stay longer if you wish. I want to point out my two favorite practitioners; Andy Wegman and Amy Vlacich. Andy and Amy are very skilled, but they are also natural communicators and very in tuned to the patient need requirements. I have also had Elizabeth Ropp and Jodi Lemery, they are very skilled as well. I would recommend Manchester Acupuncture Studio very highly for treatment of stress, anxiety, depression, blood pressure, swelling and inflammation, back pain, neck pain and a variety of other treatments. On the first visit you setup up a short 10 minute consult with the acupuncturist to discuss your treatment plan and options for treating multiple issues or conditions. The initial visit costs $10, a one time fee, then the treatment is the sliding scale fee of $ 15- $ 35 dollars.

I should have known something wasn't right when I called to inquire and was told the consult was free UNLESS you decided not to go with their services. Than you would be charged. Seems like a hustle to me! I knew once again from the past that acupuncture had served me well so I setup the consult. The paperwork was sent to me via email and I received 2 calls asking where it was in under 24 hours. Aggressive to say the least. Isn't this type of service supposed to be about calming? These people were stressing the heck out of me over a pile of papers. Came in for the consult and the office parking is HORRIBLE to say the least. Yikes! The office itself is beautiful and very zen. Deb at the front desk was the one aggressively pursuing me over the paperwork but once she had it in her hands she was a very nice lady for the most part. Alyson Kramer is who I saw for the consult and at the end she stated "are we good to start?" She literally meant RIGHT NOW! Pressure tactic yet again!! I signed a form that was for a package of treatments and it was not inexpensive!!! Felt like I was at a car wash buying a book of washes. Based on her treatment plan she planned to have me blast through this $$ in under a month and a half. Unreasonable at best and not fully discussed until AFTER the first treatment and back out to Deb for scheduling. I missed one treatment because we can confusion on the appointment and I had not received a call or text which that did for all the other appointments. Four appointments were attended as I was spreading out PT along with the acupuncture which was discuss during this consult. They didn't want me going back to back or on the same days. Each appointment was a treasure hunt. Different treatment not focusing on the source area which was ridiculous. I felt ZERO confidence in Alyson and terminated treatment. A settlement was reached on remaining money and we went our separate ways. Find somewhere else and compare prices, services and anything you can find. A pretty office doesn't make for a good treatment source.

I have been going for weekly acupuncture for 8 months now. Originally for infertility, and now throughout my pregnancy. It has been vital in my self-care toolbox & wellbeing. I don't foresee a time where any individual would not benefit from adding acupuncture to their care. Every room is clean, calm + inviting. I drive further to be able to have treatment here, and every week is a treat. I highly recommend this female owned + operated business to all my friends and family!

Things seemed to be going well here until 4 weeks ago, despite the difficulty there seemed to be with my request to schedule my acupuncture and massages back to back, at the same time, on the same day every week. It took me nearly a month to fully convey this month, and to be accommodated. I opted to receive text alert communications. Showed up for my regular weekly appointment, and walked in to sign in as usual. One of the ladies, who I believe is one of the owners, came flying around the corner and started yelling at me about how I wasn't supposed to be in the office until I was called in. She said an email had been sent out, which I told her I hadn't received. She then said there was a sign posted on the door. We walked to the front door, and the said sign was covered by a large wreath hanging in the window. Rather than apologize for the miscommunication, as I was trying to do with her, she simply kept telling me how I was in the wrong. I tried to relax as much as possible for my treatment, but still came home feeling not great. Two weeks later, there was a similar issue. Something was miscommunicated. In trying to convey my apologetic side of the story, same lady kept insisting I was in the wrong; there was no way she might have done anything wrong! At one point, she said, "Well, this isn't the first problem we've had with you. Maybe you need to find somewhere else!" I responded with, "Well maybe I do." Granted, my treatments are paid for by the VA, and are indefinite. For as long as I received treatments, this place was guaranteed to get paid. The following week, as I was getting ready for my regular appointment, I realized I hadn't gotten my text reminder for my appointment. I called the office to make sure everything was ok, was told the manager would call me back, and when I was called back, I was informed that they would be dropping me as a client and had canceled all my appointments from there on out.
