I've been able to "fill in" to care for my Mom but I'm exhausted. Can't count on them to come through. Thank goodness my Mom is of sound mind but unfortunately in a wheelchair with limited mobility. She doesn't require lifting-she can transfer to chair and bed. But she can't prepare her meals or shower and needs this assistance. I hired Visiting Angels as a companion for my 85 year old husband with short term memory issues so…read moreI can go to doctor's appointments, run errands and shop without worrying about leaving him alone for an extended period of time or falling and getting hurt. I hired them for four hours every two weeks. They sent a young woman who came on time for the first two visits. On the third visit, the office called and said the person would not be coming because she had car trouble. Visiting Angels did not have anyone on call and did not have anyone else to send. Today, two weeks later when I called the office to confirm our appointment, they texted and called their employee and she did not respond. She was a no show again this week, and yet again, the office has no one else to send. I have to cancel my appointments yet again. The company is simply not reliable and did not seem to be at all concerned that their employee was a no show. The office person, Hope, seemed surprised when I told her their services were no longer needed. I'll be looking at other agencies but would NOT recommend Visiting Angels.

My deceased wife needed oxygen, and after she died these people…read morecame to pick up the stuff they had rented, and they had left one of the oxygen tanks at the hospital. The delivery person said that would be no problem for them to get it from Largo hospital. 5 weeks later they had still not picked it up I had to go to the hospital and got the air tank as well as the other things that I had to get, and called them to make another appointment for them to come pick it up. They didn't show, or rather they showed up after business hours. They can't guarantee what time they will show up, they say leave it outside out on the street and they'll get it there, can you imagine leaving anything in downtown St Petersburg just leaving it outside the door, and hopefully it would still be there by the time they got there? I don't think so. They made it very difficult to try and reschedule again, this would be the third rescheduling none of which was my fault that they could not come when they said they would or where they said they would. The equipment that they rented us was of a much lower quality than the equipment that we had gotten when my wife had gone to the VA Hospital. The oxygen tanks looked a little rusty and getting replacement tubing was difficult, they made everything difficult, they didn't come ever when they said they would. If you can use any other home health care provider, I would definitely use almost anyone else.
