I was so excited to visit my beloved campus... but here's a twist... UCI Applied Innovation is not located on the main campus. It is hidden away towards the back office buildings in the outskirts of the campus. Look out for a Starbucks and you are in the correct parking lot. They are located on the second floor. The venue is a great place to host events with a main floor for individual speakers to present or even for a panel. My only slight commentary is that there is so separation between the speaker and the audience with the outside people coming in and out, so the external volume can overwhelm some of the more meek speakers. From an exhibitor point of view, I really liked that all of the tables and chairs were set up prior to the event with the Company Name labelled on a sheet of paper on top. We were allowed to come an hour in advanced to set up. Exhibitors lined along the edge of UCI Applied Innovations for attendees to visit in parallel or in between the presentations. There is also this convenient back area where we were spoiled with breakfast pastries and fruits in the morning, salad and sandwiches at lunch and ultimately an ice cream social at the conclusion of the event. I am so proud of UCI and the support they put into the future. I am looking forward to future events at UCI Applied Innovations whether it is an event through work or one of those other freebie events they host to promote innovations.
