Perkins Tree Service prunes trees, removes trees, and grinds stumps. I have used this business twice--once to remove my backyard neighbor's tree (yes...) and once to remove four of my trees. In 2021, my backyard neighbor had a tall, dead tree that was near our property line and was very hazardous for several years. On a Friday, I contacted Perkins Tree Service to get an estimate. The owner Tom said that he would arrive for the estimate on a Saturday afternoon. On Saturday, he did NOT show up, so I contacted him, and he changed the appointment to a Sunday morning. On Sunday, Tom gave me an estimate of $875 plus $75 for grinding the stump. He said that he would be available to do the work on Tuesday morning--a wait of only two days! On the Tuesday, four workers from Perkins spent about one hour cutting down the tree. They used ropes and a chainsaw to remove the several large branches and a grinder to remove the stump. They did not damage the nearby fences or any other structures. In 2022, for my four trees, I contacted Tom on a Friday to get an estimate, and he said that he would give an estimate on Saturday or Sunday. He actually came out on Tuesday, and he gave an estimate of $500 to remove four ornamental trees and to grind their stumps. This current job was small, so Tom said that he would not make an appointment for it but would rather fit it in whenever he could in the next 1-2 weeks. Several days later, his crew removed the four trees. They did a very good job, so that only mulch was left behind. They cleaned up debris with a rake, leaf blower, and trash can. I deducted one star from my review because Perkins stood me up twice for estimates and because in 2023, I contacted Perkins again, but they never responded. Furthermore, my next-door neighbor set up an appointment for an estimate with Perkins in 2022, and they did not show up, so he hired a different company. read more

We used Perkins Tree Service to remove several trees from our home and highly recommend them! For the initial estimate, Tom came to our home to assess the trees we were concerned about but also took the time to take a look at others in the yard that were potential hazards, diseased, or dying. He made a recommendation and we opted to plan for a day rate with his crew. We received other estimates but decided to go with Tom due to his knowledge, fair pricing, and excellent communication. When the weather improved, Tom and his crew were there bright and early on the expected day to get to work. They moved quickly and safely to remove all the trees we discussed. The crew used large machinery to remove the trees and worked to grind the stumps. For a small period of time the yard looked a bit squished from the heavy trucks but now that summer is full swing you don't notice that they were ever here. Tom did an exceptional job, and I would recommend Perkins Tree Service a million times over. The estimate was quick and painless- also substantially less than every one else's. Tom and his guys showed up on time, and took about 2 hours to cut down a ginormous tree in our yard. They went above and beyond by cleaning up other small trees and shrubs that were in the way, and even trimmed limbs on top of my neighbors house (how awesome is that) best part is that they left our yard in great shape, maybe even better than what It was when they got there. 10 stars for Perkins based on great price, and great service. Ever since they pruned my maple trees a few years ago, one of them which was beautiful in my front yard died. It was pruned back so far unnecessarily. I cried when I saw what they did. Last year we had to get another company to cut the whole tree down. Another maple was also pruned terribly. It keeps losing large branches.
