Neither of this happened to me while I was at Stouffville Smiles! First, you can book your own appointment using their website. Then you will get email and text reminders! So convenient and time saving. When you enter the office yoi are greeted with a beautiful reception lounge. There is a coffee machine and a playroom next door for kids to play in. This is a huge bonus for families. To start, you are entered into their system and given a tour of the dental office. It is the most modern and clean dental clinic I have ever visited. Everything looks pristine. My favorite part has to be the flatscreen t.v. hanging on the ceiling for you to watch Netflix or Cable while you get your procedure done! Stefanie was my hygenist and she took her time to explain every thing she was doing. She took photos of my teeth and you can see it in color on the ceiling mounted tv screen! I was floored. Im use to seeing only black and white xrays. Stefanie was so gentle and thorough in my teeth cleaning. Stefanie offered me the choice of flavors for the polish and flouride. I never had the option of flavors before which just made things feel more personal. I picked cherry but there was also mint and bubblegum. Trust me. Ask for Stefanie when you come here! You wont regret it. Overall, they really wanted to educate me on my dental health to enpower me. I felt like they were looking out for my best interest and it was up to me in the end to decide what that was. Dr. Novin has an amazing office here and I'm so glad I visited today.

Dr. Novin was very calm, polite and educational as to what needed to be done and believe me there was extensive work to be done. I entered feeling very scared/terrified due to past experiences and felt somewhat comfortable here. I did not get the "lecture" nor did I feel embarrassed here. We discussed the past and the potential of a beautiful smile. I knew this was the place for me! The staff here are amazing!! From the moment you enter the doorway to the minute that you leave they are all cheerful and encouraging. I have had extensive work done in my mouth and I am very pleased with the outcome. I love the "one stop shop" and the ambiance of this office. The staff never makes your feel awkward and I am sure that you will enjoy your experience here whether is is for a simple cleaning or major surgery. Dr. Kumar is absolutely excellent and she is so friendly and professional. I was most surprised that she did the cleaning herself - I'm not sure if it's because it was my first visit or if she always does that. But if she always does that, I will be coming here forever (absolutely nothing against dental hygienists who are excellent but the fact that the dentist is so hands on gets insane brownie points there). I'm also extremely impressed with the staff who are so friendly and organized. Ladi got my insurance information completely ready before I even arrived and Jovita broke it down to me by showing it to me on a TV screen. It was legitimately the very first time I understood my dental policy and I'm so glad they explained it to me. They do not file your claims directly and you do have to pay up front first but they are able to put your claim through on your behalf and the turnover time for approval is very reasonable (~48 hours for me). Their modes of communication are also awesome because they're able to text and e-mail you if they can't get a hold of you through phone and they reply extremely quickly. Their follow-up was also impeccable and I even got a call the next day to let me know that they were in the process of following-up with my insurance and that they hadn't forgotten about me. Their prices were fair and they do offer payment plans in special cases for really big procedures. You can tell that this clinic really truly cares about their patients and Dr. Kumar is so personable. I haven't had a filling that has had to be done by her yet so I'm not able to evaluate how she is but all other aspects, she is absolutely excellent! I think I've truly found my dentist and I will be seeing Dr. Kumar from now on!

Flash forward to today, I was immediately put at ease when I walked into Upper Village Dental because felt the friendliness of the staff. During my teeth cleaning appointment, Lexi ensured that I felt comfortable the whole time, and her communication skills are impeccable! I can see why all of the reviews for this place are GLOWING. Overdue review…read more Upper Village Dental Care is a great place to visit for all your dental needs. My first few visits was with dental hygienist Shawna( sorry if I misspelled it). She was absolutely phenomenal! I returned because of her. She then went on maternity leave and Ashley took over the appointments. I was surprised, she was also amazing! Both of them have a great personality and did a great job. There's TV's on the ceiling, the place seems very clean. Dr. Peter helped me out with my remaining appointments and although I was nervous, he did a great job. I highly recommend this place. And who doesn't want to do a yelp check in for a free teeth whitening gel?

I arrived to both appointments early. After my appointment, I was given another appointment for the following week at the same time. They asked me if I would like for them to write it down on a card. I told them I do not need them to do so as I use my phones calendar instead. One of the receptionist then told me that she is surprised I made it to my appointment today at all and laughed at me. I'm on ODSB and the reason why I came to this clinic, the staff know this and use this information to make fun of me. I contacted the clinic and let them know what happened and that I felt offended by the receptionist unnecessary and rude comment. I got a phone call from the same receptionist with an insincere apology they continued to tell me that they thought it was funny and that they were just joking.
