The photography was my number one priority for the wedding, so we had done a lot of research and were really excited to work with her. Her portfolio looked well rounded and of good quality. She did a great job on my hair and makeup on the day of my wedding, however, that's about where our pleasure of working with her ends. I heard later from multiple sources that she didn't seem to play well with the videographer, which limited his ability to get the shots that he wanted. To make matters worse, she informed us when we got home from our honeymoon (three weeks later) that she had lost a whole memory card's worth of photos from our day, which included our first look photos. Those were some of the only photos we got together as a couple on the day of, so this was extremely frustrating. She also lost ALL the family photos that were taken, which breaks my heart as my grandfather died shortly after my wedding and I never got another photo with him. She never called me once to try to discuss this - she sent me her bad news email at 11 PM (I presume she thought I would be asleep and she could avoid having the conversation a little longer). I modeled for many years, and I know that any photographer worth their price would be offering a full refund if this had happened to one of the weddings they shot. Brennan, however, thought that a refund of $600 out of the $2558 that we paid would be sufficient. After several emails back and forth, she tried to "nickel and dime" me, as the expression goes, and fought with me when I raised my large concern about these photos looking raw and unedited (I could see people's hands and body parts that were very obviously not supposed to be part of the photos). She then took this time to blame the quality of her work on anything she could (the lighting, where people were standing, my own family) rather than simply offering a genuine apology. At this time I decided that a refund of $1800 and the raw photos she did have would be acceptable, and it would still leave her with $700 of profit while I have little to no photos that are good enough quality that I would want to hang on my wall. She rejected this offer and raised her $600 to $950. At this point I was so upset and frustrated by all of the fighting I was having to do with her that I was becoming physically ill, so I had to get a lawyer involved. I still have not received a dime as a refund, and it's been six months since my wedding. My problem with Brennan Terry is not the fact that she lost photos - as someone who has worked in the modeling industry, I understand things can happen. My problem with Brennan is her lack of empathy and her unwillingness to make it right. The problem is that rather than calling me with this horrible news, she avoided me for three weeks and then emailed me instead. She never once took the initiative to prove to me that she truly was sorry. And it is highly distressing that she doesn't seem to understand that while she would be taking a profit loss to rectify the situation, she, as the wedding photographer, lost an enormous portion of a day that I can NEVER recreate and I can NEVER get those pictures back. Brennan looks out for number one (herself) and doesn't seem to care about her paying clients. Please be careful who you hire for the most important day of your life, and don't make the same mistake that I did!
