While we dont see Dr Miskin very often we try to get dad in for an annual check up. Most of the time we see Dr Mishkin if dad has to go to the emergency room after an incident. Dr Mishkn is a quiet patient doctor and always listens to whatever is said to him. He seems very mild mannered and does a great job with dad. I am glad Dr Mishkin is my fathers primary physician.

Rakeeda who is in charge of test results doesn't return or accept phone calls and important life support tests are not ordered, results are not available unless you physically go into the office and she lies about tests that she says are waiting for results when they were never ordered. Rude and incompetent a horrible combination. A test for my heart was never ordered until I came in and got the blood drawn again 2 weeks later. Now I can't get the results or a referral to a cardiologist or even make an appointment with the doctor because she blocked my phone from calling the office. Totally dangerous and unprofessional. Unfortunately, doctor Mishkin lets this behavior go unchecked and his patients are suffering. Imagine. A doctor's office blocking a sick patient's phone.

Many arrests due to impolivnese, not caring about life, etc. Bad realationships with family and friends etc. From 23-33 i have seen many docs with minimul impovment and at times feeling worse then how i started. I would see doc after doc and went through the same old thing to the point of suicide 3 plus times. Few minutes given the hottest med to push, a run of my credit card and me week later crying for help. I know its a process and doesnt improve your mental health issues right away. But to see 5 plus docs over yrs and always feel worse, feustated over soc cancelling apts, hr wait to be seen, talked down upon, and blind as day no support. Then one day telling my self i am going to find the right doc for me. Went online and called a dr by the name of Amy Kosches. First apt we spkke for 20 minutes if not 30, hmm doc seems to care , back and forth conversation, meds with explanation on the side effects, changes will be taking place each visit until your feeling great., calling to chech up on me between visits, office atmosphere, short wait, early hrs, etc etc treated like family truth is she is the best i will guarantee you make one appt and like meyou will write a online review for the first time. I won't go into details but this is the WORSE doctor I have ever seen. She cares about one thing only MONEY how much money are you going to bring her. And she's expensive and gives you hardly any of her time. Her lack of tact and bed side manners are atrocious. She has zero manners of or in speech. I contacted the main offices in Florida "Health" to report her. Her malpractice of how she treated me did qualify for them to do at least an investigation. I guess depending on what they find they take the next step. However only how she handled my med was a "valid" reason for them to make what they called a "valid complaint" it said in the forms that bed side manners would not be considered a "valid complaint" Yes how she handle my med could have cause me serious physical damage. It was very serious However I don't see how a doctor in the mental health field is not required to have bedside manners or tact. Its words they use to communicate with patients with a myriad of problems from insomnia to depression, BP, ect,ect It requires excellent communication skills, tact and a kind tone are a MUST HAVE for them. More than Docs in other fields. However I did not follow through as I did not have time. I found another really good Doctor. Before I go any further. Anyone seeking treatment for any diagnosis given due to child abuse and neglect like PTSD, Please read the updated info by real doctors with cutting edge info like Bruce Perry PHD and Judith Herman MD. These Docs write in a manner that is easy to understand and will give the readers very good clue on what to look for in a competent doc and why is key to treatment. Because doctors like Amy Kosches can do more harm than good. She is outdated in her knowledge.Very outdated. And a Doc that seems to have control issues. Another very important issue with this doc is that she doesn't thoroughly explain her choice of med for you and to you the patient This breaches on a very important law. The Informed Consent Law. I mean I've read a lot about psychology and I saw a very good top of the line very ethical psychiatrist for my insomnia on and off for 19 years.. There was never a problem because from the beginning he established an atmosphere of mutual respect and a safe validating environment.. . This woman in my opinion and my experience as an extremely well informed patient should lose her lic.. This woman is not cheap I paid 280 for the first consul that was 35 mins of her time and 85 there after for like 15-20 mins of her time.. Now a days Doctors can monitor their reviews...So her reviews are good. I had read previews reviews before where others expressed the same outrage at her treatment. After I read a great book called "People of the lie" by Scott Peck MD. which I highly recommend It made me think of her. Narcissists don't "see" others they have NO empathy. And the last observation i'm going to mention about the woman is that she does not remain objective about her patients. For those who may wonder what I mean about staying "objective" about her patients. This is the perfect definition from the dictionary. Objective: treating or dealing with facts without distortion by personal feelings or prejudices. Also she is NOT really listening to her patients either. When I requested my chart from her. Everything I had told her was wrong in her notes and I could/can prove that. Is like she wasn't even paying full atte to what I was telling her. I am writing this review out of concern for patients who are paying big money to these Doctors and that money should include ethical, kind, humane, up to date treatment and up to date knowledge. Ridiculous experience. I've been trying for months to get prescribed a specific medication that I…read morehad already discussed with the provider. At my first visit, I was told we'd likely be able to move forward by the second appointment. Instead, the process felt unnecessarily dragged out, because I am already full aware of what I have and what I need. By the second visit, I was told it might take "a few more visits," which was both frustrating and vague. He also suggested a bigger "evaluation" which is completely not necessary because again, I already know what's going on from previous life history. There were also serious billing issues. I was clearly told there was a flat fee per visit without insurance and that I needed to pay a set amount upfront for each appointment, which I did. At no point during those visits did they have my insurance information or did I agree to any different than the amount they specified. The only reason they have it now is because my partner later called to schedule a new appointment and provided that information. After the fact, they billed my insurance for those past visits--without my knowledge or consent--and then sent me an additional bill for $50 per visit, totaling $100. I never agreed to have those visits billed through insurance, and it's not fair to retroactively change how those appointments were handled and then charge me more. Communication was also extremely poor. We contacted the office multiple times by phone and text with no response--no returned calls, no replies, and no follow-up about scheduling another appointment. When I finally called again to clarify both the charges and schedule my next appointment (after waiting 2-3 months), the staff said they didn't know what I was referring to. I requested a refund for the unexpected charges, but it was denied. After months of waiting, I still don't have the medication I originally sought, despite clearly communicating my needs from the beginning. Overall, the experience felt disorganized, misleading, and dismissive of patient concerns. Not a good way to build trust or retain patients.

I began treatment with My Psychiatrist after an inpatient stay for a severe panic attack and was assigned to Dr. Dean Helseth. From the very first appointment, I felt dismissed and unheard. I explained that my current antidepressant wasn't controlling my anxiety or panic attacks. He told me to "wait 4-8 weeks" and suggested an as-needed antihistamine. When I explained I'd already been on the antidepressant for over a month and it wasn't helping with severe panic attacks like the one that led to the recent hospitalization, he abruptly accused me of seeking benzodiazepines -- something I never mentioned or asked for. I clarified that I wasn't asking for a controlled substance, just something that would help. He offered no alternative and simply refilled my prescription. Over the following months, he continued increasing my antidepressant with no improvement to my anxiety symptoms. He prescribed Buspar even though I'd previously tried it at the maximum dose without success, which worsened my depression and was discontinued. Despite explaining that my anxiety made it nearly impossible to leave the house and do things like work, grocery shop, or take my kids to the park, he kept offering nothing but an antihistamine -- a medication I later found out carries a significantly increased dementia risk with prolonged use. The final straw came when he prescribed a beta-blocker for my anxiety, despite knowing I had a preexisting heart condition. He assured me it was safe, but it triggered rebound tachycardia so severe I nearly fainted every time I stood up. Since leaving this practice, my new psychiatrist has actually listened to my concerns, offered appropriate treatment options, and prescribed a non-benzodiazepine medication that finally manages my anxiety and gave me my life back -- something Dr. Helseth never once mentioned. Regarding my panic attacks, both my new psychiatrist as well as my PCP, also highly recommended low dose alprazolam for my C-PTSD panic attacks to prevent repeat inpatient hospitalizations. They have never once made me feel uncomfortable discussing different options for managing my symptoms the way Dr. Helseth did. Unfortunately, the issues go far beyond Dr. Helseth. The staff at My Psychiatrist are disorganized and incompetent. At one point, I went without medication for a week and a half -- which caused severe reactions like brain zaps -- because my pharmacy never received the refill. Multiple staff members gave me conflicting information -- one claimed she contacted Dr. Helseth, another promised an "urgent" message and a callback, and a third finally admitted no message had been sent at all. I was told "urgent" messages actually take 2-3 days for the providers to respond to and since it was Friday, I wouldn't hear back until the following Tuesday or Wednesday. He also stated no one in the department could help me today, they do not have an answering service, and no provider had availability to see me the following week. They also rescheduled one of my appointments with Dr. Helseth without notifying me -- moving it up by a day but keeping the same time. I received their standard reminder text and assumed it referred to my originally scheduled appointment. Later that day, I got texts saying I missed my appointment. When I called, they admitted the mistake but still charged me and attempted to collect a $50 no-show fee. Lastly, I began therapy with Zachary Katz, but missed a session due to a mandatory work conference, yet they still billed my insurance $150 anyway. I've since called three times and texted their automated line to reschedule -- each time told my request would be forwarded to the therapy department. No one has ever followed up. This practice is negligent, disorganized, and lacks the professionalism and compassion necessary for mental health care. I would never recommend My Psychiatrist to anyone in need of psychiatric support.
