At 12:30 am on a Friday night, we (a group of six) started talking about escape rooms that we've tried. At 12:35 am, we started calling random escape rooms to figure out if they could get us in. Perplexity said they had rooms available if we were to show up right then. So our decision to try out Perplexity Escape Games was somewhat impromptu. And it turned out to be one of the most fun nights I've had in recent memory (that didn't require medications/ointments the next day). I've done escape rooms before, but Perplexity set the bar high and I'm pretty sure other escape rooms won't seem nearly as fun now: - Firstly, Perplexity's escape scenarios aren't limited to one room. With our choice, there were two rooms that we had to work our way through. And there were a lot of clues. - Secondly, some of the rooms incorporate jump scares. So not only do you have to get out of a room in a set amount of time, you have to deal with the anxiety of trying not to wet yourself at random moments. - Thirdly, there are some great props that help add to the creepy (or outright scary) ambiance. All of these aspects result in a much more immersive experience than other escape rooms I've seen (at least where I'm from, I can't speak for other escape rooms in the GTA). The guys who got us ready for the room were very helpful, and even accommodating to someone in our party who struggles a little with being trapped in smaller spaces. I appreciated that they were considerate of our concerns. The guy who took care of the paperwork upfront offered us a discount (around 10-20% or so, I don't remember) for checking in on Facebook and tagging everyone who was there. And it looks like Yelp check-ins get you similar discounts as well. All told, I spent $33.99 USD for two people, which according to Google comes to approximately $44 CAD. I've paid more for crappier escape rooms. Perplexity was worth every dollar spent. I look forward to the next time I'm in town so that we can try another room. read more

Not the most amazing escape room I've ever been to but it was still pretty cool. We did short cut which was a fairly difficult room for only 4 people but we had a good time! Even better was you could play the board games for free afterwards! Good place to chill in Brampton if you're looking to try something new! read more

Visited July 26,2018 This was my third time playing an escape room. I avoided playing escape rooms for a long time as the average cost is typically $30+ per person. This place is well priced, well designed and overall a fun experience! We had a group of 12, they reserved our room in advance and didn't charge a credit card in advance which is good. I played Lost and Found and my team was able to solve the room in 50 minutes. The scenario and room was very well planned, interesting and exciting. There were some tricky parts where we had to test different ideas which is all a part of the fun. The room was a little bit creepy, but nothing too scary. We tried Kate's motel room with 4 other people. The room was very scary and challenging. Unfortunately we did not escape from the room despite the clues but we still ended up having a great time. We will definitely have to come back to try the other rooms. The service was impeccable and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The place has a very good vibe and room escapes are perfect to do in winter months in Toronto/Brampton. read more

It was our first time at any escape room and it was amazing! Kate's Motel is highly recommended! We were quite impressed we solved so much! Because we were new at it, it was a bit confusing what to look for but once we got into we were on a roll! We had so much adrenaline that we decided to do Criminal Binds after! This place is my top 2 escape rooms in the city (that i've been to) I've been to some horrible escape game rooms. Some of which the puzzling was just too simple, or doesn't make sense. The best one, had both a high production value and had some good puzzles/thinking. Did Kate's Motel. Although not fancy high tech production like some other places, it was very well done. With many puzzles in one room, and very detailed. it was really well done. We did it with 4 people, and had a great time. This was my first go at an escape room, and the only reason I can sort of compare it to other escape rooms in Toronto is because my 3 companions are what I would call vets of the Escape Room scene and all 3 of them were filled with high praise at how good Perplexity was in terms of difficulty and the effort they put in to the props etc. They have 5 rooms I believe, and we opted to check out 2, 1 of them being recommended for a group of 8 the other a group of 4. Since we were only 4 strong, we figured the bigger room would be a challenge, which it really did end up being but we managed to beat it with less than a minute to spare, which was pretty epic and we managed to impress the staff as well, so go us! The room for 4 was easier, we might have gotten stuck at the very start wrapping our heads around stuff, which probably cost us the chance to finish this room in record time. And that leads me to another fun fact about this place, is that at the entrance they have listed the record times for each room, so it's extra motivation for us to try and beat that! Just imagine all that bragging rights we would have! The only spot of bother I had with this location was that it was around $50 for the 4 of us, but (and I might be wrong here) it would have been cheaper if we were able to spread the cost if we had a bigger group. But like I said, it's such a minor thing and the fun rewards we got back from coming here was well worth the cost. Booking was generally harmless, but always call ahead (as is the rule with almost all room escapes). The staff here were really friendly and enthusiastic, full props to them. Went to Perplexity on the weekend and tried the Elevator room - so much fun! The puzzles were challenging and the ambiance really made you feel trapped in an elevator. The tech in the room was very cool and really made you feel immersed in the environment. We ended up getting out but just barely and we really needed our hints! The facility looks nice and the staff were super friendly and helpful. You'll have a great time here if you ever want to try out an escape room - I highly recommend checking it out! read more

This place is great. Two of us did 'The Elevator' room and it was well set up. We have done other escape rooms before, and this room was fun for even two people. Staff were nice. My group did Kate's Motel with 6 people and we were blown away by the room! The puzzles posed a challenge and the props added a nice touch to the storyline. We all had a great time and the staff were friendly and hilarious! They also had a board game lounge for us to hang out in while we were waiting for our room. This place is truly amazing. For my first time, I am hooked and was extremely impressed. I highly recommend this escape place, staff was friendly and the puzzles and room was awesome. This was my first time ever at an escape place so I had no idea what to expect. I was primarily concerned about my wife wanting to divorce me after or feeling like I would become hulk (which would be frowned upon). When we entered we checked in and checked out the game room before our session. My wife and our friend were focused on escaping the Elevator and strategizing on how to work together and pay attention to everything lol. We were greeted by our briefer (super friendly) and watched a quick video about the basics and rules. He then led us up to the escape room and gave us the back story and locked us in. With that, we began the adventure and without giving things away the best advice is stay calm and don't get discouraged. The puzzles had some great variety and I was super excited when we solved one after another. What I really liked was that they really did a good job using technology and really used the space well. I loved how well thought out it was. We used 1 clue, but we were victorious and escaped. All in all I would def do it again and at a min I get to place all the amazing board games in the game room after. Loved it!!!! read more

I visited this location for a team building workshop with my work and this was the most fun I've ever had in an escape room ever! The staff was very patient and helpful! They were very cutious and extremely fun! The facility was clean and tidy abd the room itself was challenging, fun, and creepy all rolled into one! I WILL be returning for some more adventures!!!! Pros: customer service was good. People were nice. Many puzzles in the room which were interesting. Cons: definitely way overpriced for what you're getting. Even after the check in discount it was expensive. Not a lot of tech for them to be charging $24 per game. Plus the facility looked old and the room we were in was dusty and dirty. Many of the clues in the game needed to be replaced (laminated papers were ripping which made it tough to figure out). Overall we had gone on a Saturday and it wasn't busy so probably not one of the more popular ones. Would not go again for $24 but maybe like $15. read more

Checked out this new escape room in Brampton with my family. Great room, lots of clues and locks - not cheesy in the least. Great attention to detail and staff is so helpful and friendly. Would definitely go back as this is one of the better escape rooms we have tried. If you're in the west end, check out Perplexity. Very convenient to the highway. This is by far my favourite escape room Ive been to! The staff is amazing and the customer service is unmatched! As for the room itself, my group and I took the challenge of trying to escape Kate's Motel! The room has excellent decor and amazing puzzles if you decide to choose that room you will not be dissapointed! The other aspects of perplexity that impressed me was their board game lounge! Great place to just relax and enjoy a couple of board games while either waiting for your room or even after your room is finished! For a while I have been hearing about this type of thing going on around the city. We gathered up a group and made a date to experience an escape room. At first it was a bit intimidating but after a few minutes I was comfortable. This is an amazing concept and very very entertaining. We were told that only 30% of groups actually finished the room we were in. We were given 1 hour and 15 minutes and believe it or not we escaped in 1 hour. I was so surprises as this was extremely hard. We had a great group and we all worked at it together. Overall great experience, great concept. I would totally go again. read more

First time at an escape room and had a blast! Staff was very friendly and informative, got there a little early and they had a waiting room with many boardgames to play while you wait for your room. We did "the shortcut" room and the staff said it was the hardest room to escape and they were right! Lolz we failed but had a blast trying to solve the puzzles. First time here and the experience was priceless. It was our first ever room escape and this was the first one we ever heard of in Brampton. It's brand new and we booked a reservation. I don't know how busy this place gets but with the amount of fun we had, I'm sure it will get a lot busier as its popularity grows SO MAKE A RESO. Game: Shortcut You have 60mins to escape. You have a series of puzzles to solve to get out. We got the hardest room they had and for our first time we did pretty well. It's really challenging and you have to be extremely detail-oriented to get through it. This room can take a maximum of 8 people. Staff: The people are awesome, friendly and have a good laugh with you. We didn't escape at the end and since no one was waiting after us, one of the staff actually walked us through where we went wrong. Amazing experience and they definitely made it that much funner. Tips: Leave your stuff in the car if you can after you pay, they have lockers but no need for anything when you go in. No phones! Grand opening you get 20% off! Book a reservation. I could see this place be a huge hit so better be safe. They do have a waiting room with board games which was also fun. Go with people who are fun! This is such a fun group activity.
