    The warning for "The Unknown"...
    Cindy T.

WOW - I don't even know where to begin to explain how AMAZING and FUN the experience my friends and I had with "The Unknown". It was definitely nerve-wrecking before we started the mission because there was NO information given about this room and the extreme content warning... (not recommended for anyone with heart conditions.... HUH??!!) - not to mention you aren't allowed any hints at all.. but I am so glad we gave into the hype and tried it out. Obviously I can't spoil the room but once you experience it you can tell everything about it was very well-thought out. From the design to the production, to the puzzles and to the story, the entire mission had you on your toes the entire time. It is different from your usual escape room as The Unknown is so much more interactive so you're fully immersed into the story. I don't think I'll ever come across another escape room that combines thrill and fun so harmoniously but this is for sure something you MUST experience in your life (I'm a huge scaredy cat and loved it!!). Can confirm that The Unknown lived up to its hype (if not beyond the hype LOL)!!! The staff was also very kind and accommodating. One of our friends was running about 15 minutes late and they let us wait for her with no problem. I also like that there are designated waiting spots for each room in the lobby to avoid clutter with different groups, such a small detail but so important to organization during busy times (they literally pay attention to everything!!). PLEASE do yourself and the universe a favour and try "The Unknown"!! You will not be disappointed!! My friends and I are ready to come back and try out their other rooms. Escape Games is absolutely one of the top escape room establishments in Toronto.

Came here with a group of 5. It was my first time. We play the Mayan Curse. It's first level (for beginners like me) lots of fun, interesting puzzles. You have to solve it in 1 hr. and we did it in 40 mins. I highly recommend this activity with your teens. A great night out

BEST escape room company in the GTA! We've done Syndicate, Mindshaft, The Unknown, and The Haunting of Noriko here with friends. I hope they keep making new rooms in years to come because they really are the best out of all the escape room places that we've tried in the Toronto area. Staff is friendly and professional. Waiting area is big enough, bright and clean.

Probably the best escape room places I've been to and for good reason. Walking into the lobby area was just awesome. It felt like home for me - very cozy and tons of board games that you can play while you're waiting. Had a few superheroes props too.. so awesome! Our group booked it during the night around 11pm, so it wasn't as busy then. Let me tell you, this place is so organized. Timing is everything and if you arrive late, they'll start without you -make sure you're not late for your booking! As for the actually room, we did The Unknown room. I won't ruin anything by telling you what we did, but this room was the most elaborate and thought out room I've been to. The puzzle had locks, jump scares, awesome props, decoys and so on. All things were well detailed and put into an intricate game. I really enjoyed the one hour here. Price was $28 per ticket, so it's not cheap (bc baller friend wanted to do the hardest one) lol! However, it won't hurt doing this once for experience. The other rooms were cheaper, but not by much.. I may come back soon! Btw, we managed to escape with around 2 minutes left.

    So true!

Did End of the Line (the subway one), Prison Break, Haunting of Noriko. Passed all of them but still challenging Highly recommend prison break for beginners and big group it's really fun and active. Haunting of Noriko was a favourite. 2 floors, very well made Soooo scary and very fun and amazingly designed like the best escape room I've ever been. I was scared but I have to admit the room was so good (just go with a huge group) Escape games has board game free to play while waiting. Staff are very nice and very professional here, really impressed with all the rooms (coming back for more). They really put in detail and care in making each room :) Thanks Escape Games

The Puzzles We ended up doing two because we had such a good time. We did the Amun Ra room and the Wilshire puzzle. They were engaging and well thought out and had us working together to communicate our findings and surroundings. The production of each room and immersiveness were great. Sometimes the puzzles didn't work PERFECTLY, but the staff were quick to correct it if things didn't work well which was rare The Service The staff were fantastic . All were friendly and wanted to make sure we had the best experience possible. The team was clear with the rules and expectations of each room. Follow the rules and you will have fun. The Value It's just under $40 for each person playing and each room with the minimum of 4 participants is a private booking. I really enjoyed this as I got to work with people I knew and could work off their energies as well. It's worth the money and it's time and money well spent. I'm looking forward to trying the Steampunk room as well as the upcoming Microsoft HoloLens room. I would 100% recommend this place and can't wait to go again. I can't recommend it enough!

It has many little disjoint puzzles which are somewhat challenging. Each puzzle is independent of the others, which allows for a group to split into smaller groups and solve the puzzles in parallel. The second room was The Lost Treasure (3/5 in difficulty). It was well thought-out and somewhat more challenging than advertised. The main room leads to a secondary room, and the main room is considerably more challenging. Both rooms were suitable for all ages. One of the great things about Enigma is that they allow you a lot of extra time. On both occasions they allowed us almost an additional hour to try to escape. They gave lots of clues, without taking away from the challenge. Moreover, the place is well maintained and it is clean. Keep up the good work.

It's a cozy place though with a few couches, coat racks, and lockers to store your belongings - oh, and the mandatory signs to hold up for pictures afterwards, of course. There are 7 different rooms here, 2 of which are horror themed. My team selected the "Godfather" with its 5/5 stars in difficulty rating, with the reason that we wouldn't be embarrassed even if we failed (i.e., a good excuse haha). Without spoiling anything, it gave us quite a run for our money! At first I had thought that the 9 people (maximum) we had in the small room would be overkill, but there were a few convoluted clues in there that had all of us circling around in confusion. It was only after 4 calls for hints later (hints are unlimited here - you'll need them) and with just 1 minute to go on the clock that we thankfully made our escape. Overall, everyone enjoyed the escape games, and the friendliness of the staff definitely contributed to the positive experience. Instructions were clear and the process was fairly efficient, although I felt they were somewhat understaffed as there was sometimes a delay in receiving hints - again, this was to be expected as we constituted a large group, but you'll appreciate my frustration when you're in the room staring in panic at the clock counting down on the wall. The price is reasonable given the location, recommended! :)

The escape…read moreexperience takes place both indoors and outdoors, so if you are easily scared or are afraid of the dark (as you can imagine it can get quite dark in the pioneer village) consider going to the earlier session (6PM vs 9PM). With the way the Pioneer Village is set up, you are instantly already in such a immersive environment. Everything looks, smells, and feels genuine - this is half the elements needed to make this a great escape. Thankfully, besides the environment, the puzzles are very detailed and well thought out. Most puzzles require special mechanisms that were especially made and it's done very well to merge with the existing environment. Owing to and out of respect for the surrounding historical buildings, there are nothing mechanical or electrical, which is charming in its own way. The way the escape experience is set up are that there are many 'buildings' in the village, though you will not visit them all in one play. Therefore, this escape is perhaps the first I've encountered that has actual replay value because you can definitely try a different building next time around. 6 players are recommended because some tasks may require you to subdivide into smaller groups to tackle. Overall, I find the experience very enjoyable, even more so than their Casa Loma games because of the illusion of open area exploration. My only real complaint is that I am really not a big fan of jump scares. With an entire genuine village, I feel the idea for an escape experience is limitless and is not limited to a cursed village - this idea is already done elsewhere. For instance, I would love a RPG style experience - maybe you're looking for a lost gem. Or maybe you've traveled back in time to 1860s in hopes to find a clue about a relic you want to find in present time. A very unique experience overall!

This room, while creepy, is unlike other escape rooms I have experienced. It utilizes the space of a large historical site that features both indoor and outdoor spaces. You are put into groups of 6 or less. My group of three, which included my 10 year old daughter, was fortunate to be matched up with two visitors from the Boston area. Four of us were experienced escape room enthusiasts and through teamwork, we completed the various tasks with 25 minutes to spare. We got bragging rights for finishing first. (Your group competes with up to 9 other groups.) What made this room extra special is that once we finished, we were given more tasks and experiences. (The average team completes two indoor rooms and 2 outdoor experiences.) One of the special experiences was universally our highlight of the room. What would have made this room extra extra special would have been if we were awarded buttons or given a special promotional code for their other rooms - for being first place finishers. Sometimes bragging rights don't really mean much when the other players aren't happy for you. I would highly recommend this room for those who want an experience working together on solving puzzles in a very immersive environment.

None of the mechanisms work and the staff don't pay attention to manually start them either. So basically you'll solve a problem and wait around and wonder for 20 mins why nothings moving even if you got it right from the start. Instead, the guy said he was unable to finish a walk through because the next group had arrived.
