I'm only giving two stars because my mother eventually got her RX (3 days and 5 phone calls later). Here are the major problems, which will explain why my mother has asked her doctor to use another compounding pharmacy in the future: -hard (sometimes impossible) to get anyone to pick up the phone -text-only communication -no notification OR filling of the prescription at all when insurance does not authorize a prescription My mother has severe viral conjunctivitis. If it goes untreated, it can scar the corneas and cause vision loss. The RX was called in on a Tuesday morning. That afternoon, my mother was told it would be ready Wednesday morning because they needed to order the formulas. It still wasn't ready Wednesday morning, and it turns out that the formulas still weren't there because the RX was pending insurance approval. We wouldn't have known that had my mother not called and asked. She said she still wanted the RX even if there was no approval. The nurse also followed up, but she eventually gave up on connecting via phone since nobody would pick up, and she faxed her message to the pharmacy. Wednesday afternoon, my mother called again, and they told her it still wasn't ready. I called later, and they said they hadn't ordered the formulas because insurance hadn't approved the RX. I REMINDED them she wanted it anyway and to please order what they needed. Thursday afternoon (not morning), I was able to pick it up. Before I left, I asked to talk to the manager. It turns out that the loudest, brashest person behind the counter was the manager. She explained to me unapologetically that prescriptions aren't filled until approved by insurance and that all communications were through text; however, the pharmacy doesn't notify the patient at all when there is a hold due to insurance. Until they get it together, I recommend using another compounding pharmacy. read more

I remember when Perrone the actual owner and pharmacist ran this small independently owned pharmacy. He started it in the 1950's if I remember correctly and was second to none and don't believe he ever had to advise because of word of mouth and is how I heard about his service, saw prices, experienced ethics and I enjoyed talking to him as well. Since his passing, you can see the history and it'll make you smile, especially if you're my age. Today, who ever is operating Perrone's seems quite busy. And will miss Mr.Tom's delivery smile at 82' sharp too! Only thing I hope is they find a way to get scripts on time and not have missing one's much of the time. I ordered some compounded medication that came in 4 syringes for the month 1 of them was defective I switched out the the needle 3 times and the syringe was not good the pressure ended up busting the product out on the ceiling of my Kitchen The needles worked on every other syringe just not that one so I called them to have it replaced as I paid for a whole month worth and it wasn't cheap and she said that they can replace my new medication and make it a week early, but they're not adding that extra syringe that I paid for just a whole new medication doesn't that just sound shady to you Sadly their compounding mix is terrible. Keep you BUT I PAID FOR A PRODUCT I SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE IT.. Go to a different pharmacy these people are not only rude but I truly don't think they know what they're doing when it comes to the compound mix. I wouldn't allow these incompetent morons to fill a sandbag, much less a prescription. If you value your and your families health, stay far away. My wife attempted to fill her anti-depressants here. She waited 2 weeks without a call from this place. They, of course tried to blame the Dr for not sending the script. After we received proof from the Drs office that they did send it, Perrones denied ever receiving it. When my wife went to Perrones to see what the problem was, they lied, were horribly rude and had my wife in tears. I'm so surprised by the negative reviews however as a young adult I worked in a pharmacy and customers in this area of service are very challenging. I learned a lot about how to communicate with people that are ill. As far as the service at Perrone's it is one of the best in town. They have an automated refill service, send text messages when Rx's are ready for pick up and are always helpful. Every doctor I've had over the last 20 years really likes them as well. read more

They waited until the day it was suppose to be filled and left me a week out from getting it refilled somewhere else! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! COMMUNICATE!!!!!!!!!! You could have told me this LAST month that this could be a issue! Not only that they LIED about receiving my prescription from my doctor last time. I asked my about it and she showed on the computer the day Perrones got it. This company is TERRIBLE!!! STAY AWAY! First time to use this company. My doctor recommended Perrone over CVS, because I have a difficult prescription. I called to see if my prescription was ready and they told me it was going to take 30 min. I ran some errands... 2hrs later I arrive and they tell me it's going to be 30min to finish it. I waited around 10 min later they call me up, give me one of the prescriptions and say they have to order the other and it would take a day. So far... I'm on the fence. I've literally been using Perrone pharmacy my whole life. Mr Perrone knew my folks and our old family doctor was located in the same complex. The current Perrone is still family owned and operated by his decedents. I can recall Mr Perrone giving me pieces of candy when I was a boy. (Back then, that wasnt considered weird or scary like it is today). He always smiled, he was a really great man and that legacy is why I continue to do business with this location even though the man himself passed away a long time ago. He is missed, but the spirit of good business that he fostered is still here, alive and well and better than ever. They recently went through a remodel and now offer drive-thru as well as all the other services they always offered. If you live within a reasonable distance, you owe it to yourself to use Perrone pharmacy. read more

VERY rude staff. They will act clueless and play dumb with you. You seriously are forced to pester them in order to get your medicine. I have problems Every. Single. Time I try to get my prescriptions. Several times they apparently "never received the fax" of the prescription. So then I started showing up in person just to hand them the physical paper. After maybe 1 or 2 times of that working, they somehow misplaced the paper the next time. Only until after I called them a week later asking for a status update were they prompted to find it and finally enter it to be filled. My last visit was the worst one yet. My prescription was handed/sent in on the 20th. There were 2 prescriptions; 1 typically much quicker to make than the other. The 22nd I received a text that 1 prescription was ready. Because of my previous experiences, I assumed that the prescription that was ready was the one that usually is quicker. Only until I called on the 28th did I find out that the quicker one was never put in to be filled because they said that patients usually don't take it at the same time as the slower prescription I had. So they never put in my prescription to be filled because of extreme assumptions on their parts. Seriously, why would you not fill a prescription someone has an order for??? Not only that, but the last 3 times I've sent things to them from the doctor, they have been BOTH medicines. Yet randomly this 4th time they decided to just not make it. Soooo weird of them. Well, after I find this out on the call, I tell them that yes, in fact I do want the prescription I literally brought in, and asked when it would be ready. The lady on the phone told me that it might be ready later today at the earliest. So then I asked, oh okay so if I came in tomorrow then both would be ready? And she said yes. And then I told her that I would come in tomorrow to pick them both up. The next day I had someone pick up my 2 prescriptions for me, but they call me and say that the pharmacy only has 1 and put back the other one to stock. So I call the pharmacy and they say something about how they keep prescriptions for 7 days but after that they go back into stock. And ironically enough, she counts the days and counts today as the 7th day. She tried to brush past this but I caught it. So I ask her why they put back my prescription if today is the 7th day, and they put them back after keeping them for 7 days, so today they should've kept it according to their own rules. So then she says something about holidays. So then I tell her how I literally called them yesterday and asked if both of my prescriptions would be ready tomorrow for me to come in and pick them up and how she confirmed yes to me. Lady on the phone gave some generic answer of not being sure what the lady yesterday told me. Definitely avoiding answering me. At this point I bring up how I would've come in earlier had they not randomly cancelled my 1 prescription. Because this whole time I was waiting for a text saying I had 2 prescriptions ready so I could get both at the same time. No one told me they were only going to make 1. Why is it on me to have to ask them and hold them accountable to that? They should've told me they were only making 1, and they shouldn't have put my other prescription back to stock. read more

I am (was) a customer of 7 years who trusted this pharmacy with their heath and heath maintenance because of 2 things: they would always say hi to me by name during every drop off with a smile, and I never worried about one of my scripts being filled because I trusted they knew how important each of my monthly medications were. They were my advocate in health, simply amazing. Those days are beyond gone. My last fill was enough - after 3 awful experiences before saying no more - and it was the last straw. They now lose medications, file things incorrectly and fraud insurance, and left me 2 days without my medication because of "low stock" even though I dropped it off 3 days in advance. Should it have been one day more of a already late fill I would have been in the ER due to a risk of seizure. They were the ones who had my script, I had zero power. Do not fill here. When I had a family member on hospice Perrone Pharmacy worked with the hospice company and made sure he ALWAYS had the medication he need. Perrone Pharmacy has always been the pharmacy to go to in your time of need. Mr Perrone saved my life as a child and saved my daughter's life. First compounded prescription they gave me the WRONG medication which I applied for a least a couple of weeks. When they corrected the prescription they were very nice and gave me the correct 1oz med without charge. I called on a Monday for a refill, for which they needed to call the doctor for refill. The doctor office did not call it in until Friday...I wAs the one to prompt the docs office to call. The pharmacy never called me that there was a hold up... Perrones says they can't mix it until Monday... So here I am w/o medication again. Not happy. read more

Dangerous business. Not consistent in their care or filling of scrips. They could care less and have an excuse for everything. Watch your pill bottles! Keep your old ones! You will "mysteriously" lose refills - they have zero explanation and do not keep proper records. I dare you to ask for dates of previous refills!! This place has been around forever. When I moved back to Fort Worth and had to have a medication compounded this was the only place I considered. Well...I'll be on the hunt for a new compound pharmacy. I've given them a good hard honest try for 7-8 months now. Last month they shorted me 11 pills so I had to go back after 19 days. The pharmacy had NO notes of them shorting me and only gave me my new 30 pills. Their customer service is TERRIBLE. Forget about doing the drive thru. Once I sat there for almost 10 min and no one spoke to me and acted like I was bothering them. The location is not convenient for me. They do deliver but you must be home to accept so that hasn't worked out. I seriously HATE having to refill this Rx because it's at Perrones. I'll be on the hunt for a new place to take my business. read more

Dropped off a prescription for a compounded pain cream on May 23, told it would be ready May 24, called May 26, told it would be ready after 5 pm, went to pick up May 27, told it wouldn't be ready until May 30, went to pick up 5/30, not ready, finally delivered on 6/2. I have had this same recipe compounded by multiple pharmacies outside of Fort Worth for a decade and never has it been greasy to the point that soap wouldn't lather to wash it off and I believe that it would ruin clothing. When I called to try to get it corrected, I was told that he could change the base but he would only be able to dispense a 30 day supply with a 30 day expiration. I said "I guess I just spent $159 on something that is not usable". He said he was sorry. read more

I like that it is one of very few compounding pharmacies left, as that is the only way I can get one of my meds. However since I started using this pharmacy, I have never received a call when my prescription is ready for pickup. It says it can take 24hrs-7 days to refill but they don't bother to let me know when it is done. read more

Perrone is by far the best business I've ever visited. I had a prescription that was seemingly impossible to find, I spent hours on the phone and travelling to different stores trying to find just one pharmacy that carried it. I finally called Perrone's and while I was on the phone, the technician cheerfully explained why it was so difficult to locate. She then informed me that they had it and would set it aside for me. When I walked in, I was surprised to find such a large and well-stocked pharmacy. I was greeted warmly by every employee I came across and my prescription was promptly filled. Normally I would give Perrone the absolute best review but the best long term employees always seem to disappear. Now they have cut staff to only 2 people manning storefront, window and mail. Does cutting staff increase your bottom line? Why is it the long term faces we know and love disappear? The pharmacists & techs are the best. On 'Indeed' the popular employment site Perrone has a bad review -'no chance for advancement or pay increases' . So if you have any complaints about service don't blame the staffs. They are doing all they can. The employees seem to love their customers. What in the world has happened to Perrone Pharmacy? For me, the efforts to modernize this wonderful family-owned pharmacy are misguided and have completely changed my customer experience. Customer service used to be Job One at Perrone, but now the focus seems to be to turn it into a clone of the big box pharmacies, right down to putting employees in uniforms and installing a drive-through window (that apparently never will be actually operational). If I want a pharmacy with a phone answered by an answering machine, uninformed and sometimes dismissive counter clerks, and a new generation of pharmacists who don't know me and can't answer my questions (although thankfully, at least one of the long-time pharmacists is still around), I can visit my much closer and more convenient neighborhood chain pharmacy or my grocery store pharmacy. I guess maybe us aging baby boomers aren't the new target market. No thanks, Perrone. Sadly, these days it is too frustrating for me to do business with you. And by the way, please inform your counter clerks that questioning a customer about why a doctor prescribed a particular med regimen is really inappropriate. read more
