During this time of Covid this shop has remained open and has made masks and sanitizer a part of business. When you enter they tell you to use the sanitizer by the door. The store is well stocked with all types of firearms. Handguns, rifles and shotguns are there for your purchasing pleasure. The staff is happy to answer any questions that you may have about any of the guns that they have in stock. They have managed to keep a decent supply of ammo as well during the pandemic shortages. Got a price from my go to dealer Kentucky Gun Co ( free shipping, No taxes) Called Perry's to see if they still had a ATF KIOSK...Hanna told me yes...told her what I was looking to buy and Kentucky Gun price $2,917.00 She quoted me $500 more for weapon and tax and $50 FFL transfer fee if bought from another dealer. Weapon shipped to Perry's 25 January 2024...I paid my $205 tax stamp and Perry's did my paperwork Called Perry's 24 April 2024 to see why my approval was taking to long (service connected vet,2 Bronze star prints on file since 1979,listed as a gun collector with ATF) Was told by Hanna there had been a OVERSIGHT AND MY ATF/FBI PAPERWORK HAD NOT BEEN SUMMITED. I asked will you wave the $50 transfer fee being you messed me up for 90+ days...? I was told NO BEING I DIDNT BUY THE WEAPON FROM THEM...I said you were $500 too high! 24 August 2024 I get a call from Paul saying my approval was in...Paul seems to be the only one there that knows anything. I had never paid over $20 bucks for a ffl transfer.. They gave me a bill of $85.80 for a single weapon transfer. Went to the store at 3pm today. Browsed for a few minutes found an AR15 I wanted for 1k dollars. Informed the female clerk who then stated that they don't sell firearms past 3pm. Owner needs to just close at 3 if they aren't going to be making any sales. Especially because I was planning on spending 1k on the gun and 2-300 on accessories. This was due to me providing a copy of my holders FFL & a Holiday weekend. They shipped UPS 2nd day air from NC & I had it in SD 2 days later. The handgun was exactly as described. The process was easy & they communicated well. During the course of this purchase I sent 3 emails & they were all answered within 30 min of sending them. Perry's has a good selection of guns, ammo, and accessories, but every single time I go there the staff completely ignores me. I'm not a "regular" at Perry's, and I think they must have a lot of regulars who get all of the attention. I've been to Perry's 6 or 8 times in the last 10 years. I usually shop their online inventory and go to the store knowing exactly which gun I'm going to buy. I just walk in, buy it, and leave. I've bought three guns there, but the last time I walked out without a gun because I couldn't get anyone to help me. FOUR of their employees were helping one customer, but not one of them would step away from that customer to help me. I spent almost 15 minutes standing in one spot in front of the display case where the handgun I wanted was located. Then I just walked out. I ended up buying the same handgun online and having it shipped to a local gun shop that's a little closer to me. The price with shipping and the dealer fee was about the same as Perry's, but I had to wait a few days. One time when I was there I ended up talking to the owner for about 10 minutes. This was around the beginning of the Covid pandemic. He seemed like a really nice guy, and he was the only person who ever paid any attention to me. He told me that they sold more guns online than they do in the store. Maybe that's why his staff doesn't seem to care about customer service. Anyway, I'd prefer to support a local gun store rather than buying online, but it's not going to be Perry's. read more

Rude staff, and over priced. If you point out that their prices are higher than the competition, they tell you they don't care and try to justify it. Buy a silencer and you get the run around because they don't want to do the paperwork. One Ruger i purchased here is defective and I have to send back to Ruger. I recently visited Perry's gun shop to purchase two Henry rifles and a case of ammunition. The salesman found the rifles and we stood in line for 20 minutes or so because they were having a sale. It finally became our turn for background checks and the purchase to be made. The owner's exclaimed that we would have to purchase the rifles before the background check (which is illegal) and possibly wait a week, at that time they could just mail the guns...When I had a problem with that the owners then got frustrated, and went on to say "how do we know you didn't just beat your wife.." I have no idea where that came from or why they got so upset because I wouldn't purchase the gun before the background check. The owner is VERY arrogant. I then left and found the rifles I was looking for at SpringHill outfitters. Made my purchase after the background check and left in less than 20 minutes. I highly recommend SpringHill outfitters. Very kind and polite and I actually got the guns new in the box, where Perry's only had display models that everyone had played with. read more

Great selection, good prices, and a helpful staff! Everything from safes to targets are sold here. If they don't have a gun or item in store, it's really easy to order them off their website. I have been doing reloading and not only have they nearly doubled the price on powder and primers, they will not sell you primers unless you buy 5 lbs of powder that is well over priced. I like Perry's and do not have any personal expectations as to the folks that work there except to say that they know people have questions, but actually intelligent questions get great answers. It used to be a Hardware Store back in the day and I was fairly excited when they converted to an Outdoor Sports and Shooting Sports store. They almost always have what I am looking for, or what I want to lay my hands on in the way of ammo, so I really have no complaints. So I am not looking for an experience, I am looking for the goods. I think that may be what's different based on some of the comments made before mine. I just like to walk in, get what I came for and walk away with the reason for the visit and that is why I shop there versus say Cabela's. Don't get me wrong, I walk through to see if they have other stuff, but always walk through the shooting sections to see what's there. I get three to four people asking me if I have questions so I play deaf. If I have a question, I will ask a question and extract the useful stuff discarding the rest for another day. I went into Perrys Gun Shop to buy a .380 and some ammo. I get the gun I want and the salesman ask if I want any ammo. HE not me goes over to the ammo picks up a box and puts on counter. Get home it is the wrong ammo. Called the store and they said basically it was my problem $40 wasted. Well to continue this review I took the wife and the .380 to a GUN SAFETY COURSE where the instructor had been trained extensively. As we were loading our guns to shoot for the first time we noticed the slide even when in locked position would slide forward when putting in mag. The instructor says it is a malfunctioning gun. Take the gun back and 1 employee says it is a malfunction. Another says it is supposed to happen and the older gentlemen offers a bs offer then belittles my instructor and says they know how to shoot not about guns. Well excuse me didn't know Perry's was the end all say all in guns. Over priced, extremely rude staff and overall just bad customer service. Don't shop here. read more

I am handicapped and use a walker and have arthritis in my fingers and wrists and needed help finding a gun that I was able to rack the slide and hold safely in my weak hands. I am also a first time gun owner. They helped me and were extremely patient with all my questions. If you use a walker of wheelchair just call them and they will help you get in.
