    Izzy and Brutus
    Jb P.

We have used Gretchen for our temperamental English Bulldog (Brutus) and our new Frenchy (Izzy). Gretchen is flexible on pickup and drop off, sends pictures and updates and been a member of our family, more or less. When we travel we head to Gretchen's. Our pups are trained to recognize her name and anxious to head over! She has been great. Unexpected funerals, work trips and the like. Always dependable and reliable. If she can handle Brutus, she can handle any pup. Highly recommend, and have (in-laws pups and our neighbor's pup).

Gretchen Green has been a godsend to me as a caregiver for my Frenchie Phoenix-Grey and became a close friend to me. On 4/4 I took Phoenix to the Emergency ER , Gretchen kept in contact with me while I was going to the ER, when I got to the ER and dropped everything to be with me while I was holding my precious Phoenix -Grey that passed away. She cried with me, she held Phoenix, gave him love and said goodbye and thanked him for ado many fun times. I was a mess, she helped me get through the process to get his ashes and helped me pick out the urn. Your pets are lucky to be in Gretchen's care, and you are luck to have a person like her caring for babies....

This is my "furry family friend"!

I've known Gretchen, personally, for many years...both as a neighbor, a pet sitter and a friend. My puppy was 3 months old when I decided to travel. I was happily pleased to have received text message updates on her behavior as well as how she was eating. This was my first experience with Gretchen as a pet sitter. She is amazing! She not only loves each and every one of her client's furry family members, but she strives to make sure each animal in her care gets everything she can humanly possibly do to make this animal feel totally at "home". In fact, when I returned home, Gretchen had all of my puppies belongings all organized and ready for meeting me for the pick up. My puppy did not want to leave Gretchen. I live in the neighborhood. When my dog and I walk, she pulls towards Gretchen's home each and every time we walk. Spending time with Gretchen is the very best gift you could ever give your furry friend! In fact, my puppy was very non compliant (stubborn) about eating, being on a leash and just sitting being calm and content. When I returned to get my puppy, I wondered if I had the right puppy. My puppy was calm and contented! She received the very best from Gretchen regarding all aspects of her care. In fact, I'm honored to have the expertise she provides available to me for the care of my special, four legged friend! I'm looking forward, almost as much as my puppy is, to my dog's next visit!

Scott is amazing, and we can't recommend Chill Out Dog Training enough!…read more We adopted a 9 month old, 80 lb (now 110 lb) golden retriever from a local rescue in mid-2023. A complete contrast to our older collie/aussie mix, he was full of energy and naughtiness (a puppy), and a nightmare to control. Prior to being surrendered by his (previous) family, he went through two weeks of out of home boarding/training, costing upwards of $7,000. We thought this would have helped with obedience, but boy were we wrong. Fast forward two and a half years, sessions with a certified behaviorist, and failed attempts to use an e-collar, we were at a loss. He constantly displayed leash reactivity, would lunge at cars and dogs, and made it so we would rarely walk anywhere. He almost broke my finger during a break free lunge at a dog completely across a residential street! At home, dog forbid another animal appeared on the tv; he would jump and bark at everything. Then we found Chill Out... After the very first session with Scott, our big boy golden was a different dog. Scott set is up with the right tools to refocus our dogs behavior and break him of his leash reactivity. That very first walk was pleasant and uneventful. We almost felt foolish for claiming bad behavior. What we needed was the right trainer and methods to help our dog change behavior. Like I said at the beginning, I can't recommend Chill Out Training enough.

Everything from Pomeranians to Labrador and Golden Retrievers and every breed, temperament and personality in between. It's easy to find trainers but it can be really hard to find a GOOD trainer! Over the years, we've spent thousands on dog behavior veterinarians, breed specific trainers, and your basic pet store group classes. All of these can work for some dogs, but not all. We lost our two black Labrador brothers this past summer to age related health problems. We were completely devestated. We didn't know if we could do it again until Jack decided for us. Jack is a male Bichon mix rescue, but who rescued who? Jack rescued us - literally ! When we got Jack home we wanted to start out on the right foot immediately. We used two online trainings - waste of money and time. We asked, searched and found several self-proclaimed and "guaranteed results" trainers. You had a time limited training. From past training experiences, if your dog didn't learn everything in that timeframe you were left feeling frustrated and confused as to what to do next. Then we found Adrienne at Bark Busters. They aren't inexpensive, but when we found out they would be partners for the life of our dog, we were hooked. In over 40 years of our dogs and training, Adrienne is the ONLY trainer who actually knows what she's doing. Jack began training as a timid puppy who then developed into a defiant teenager with an attitude. Adrienne has given us the tools and behavioral changes we needed to make to consistently provide Jack with age appropriate expectations. We now understand how to think like a dog and speak "dog". Jack is becoming calm and confident that we are the leaders and he can enjoy being a puppy. Thank you Adrienne!

We have a…read moreShepherd/Cattle Dog mix (high energy, high intelligence), and before meeting Bruce, we had tried multiple trainers, most of whom were only okay. Initially, we knew some basic commands, but the biggest struggle we could not overcome was our dog's obedience or reactivity concerns. Before Bruce, our dog did not do well with other dogs and people on walks, and guests couldn't come to our home due to fear of being accidentally hurt by him. Our lowest point was when our boy bit a lady at a local Farmer's Market, where we were attempting to do some training with him, and he became startled. We utilized as much of the training we had worked on with other trainers, but it wasn't enough. That's when we called Bruce. Here's our experience: at the initial meeting, we were very impressed with Bruce's resume and we could tell by his skill-set that he would be able to turn our boy around. Bruce had over 15 years experience working with dogs who were relinquished due to aggression or behaviors at a local humane society, turning them into confident, obedient and adoptable dogs. Not to mention, he also trained in Germany for 3+ years overseas with a military-style training for police dogs. Bruce uses a combination of high-drive reinforcement and timely corrections One thing to keep in mind though, you get out what you put in. If you aren't willing to do the work, Bruce might not be the right guy for you. We were pretty motivated and found a lot of success with Bruce. Within the first few sessions, we saw noticeable changes in our dog's behavior; he was gaining confidence through the consistency and training Bruce taught us about. Bruce's ability to fine-tune all the mixed signals we were giving AND giving us detailed explanations of why they were important to correct, completely changed everything for us. He even explains the science behind some of the techniques, which we appreciated. Our closest family and friends knew all the struggles we had experienced with our boy before Bruce. They have been so impressed with how much progress our dog has made. We would absolutely recommend Bruce to anyone needing dog training. You will be able to tell the passion and love for what he does the first time you meet him!

Bruce's guidance and tools gave us the confidence to support our pups and develop their improved behavior. He also helped us understand the underlying rationale on the tools we learned. We honestly can't believe the dramatic change in our dogs. Thank you Bruce!

His behavior and fear far exceeded anything I could manage on my own, as nothing I did worked to help the Pup out. A friend of mine recommended Jenny. Jenny was amazing and God sent!!!! She supported me and gave me a lot of information on what to do to get our new found puppy to feel safe and come out of his shell. Through her walking me through what to do, contacting me to see how its going and her positive words the whole time, she was the catalyst for this puppy's recovery. Our new puppy went from being scared of us, Peeing himself when we were near and hiding in corners, to comming when I call, snuggling with me and playing all day long with his toys and our other dogs. He went from being the most sad soul I have ever met and transformed into a goofy and silly sweet boy. I accredit this to Jenny's information and guidance. He was a very extreme situation and it took a different approach and a level of understanding to get him to the place he is in now. Jenny comes highly recommended by myself and I would use her for any of my dogs or for any future needs because she is absolutely amazing!!!
