We recently adopted a rescue dog from TX named Raymond, who is about two years old. Rescues can come with some emotional baggage; overall, Raymond has done very well acclimating to his new home. Part of our success with Raymond is due to Gretchen! We had some travel recently where we unfortunately could not have Raymond travel with us. Having used Gretchen in the past for dog care for our other dogs, we relied on her to give Raymond care and love while we were away. We found Gretchen online through yelp and were excited to leave our dogs with her while we went on a 5-day vacation. Our miniature husky whined around other dogs, and our Bichon puppy loves everyone. Gretchen promised to assist us and give us tips about our husky's whining. She also promised to send us lots of pictures and videos, so we felt good leaving our dogs with her. Then the nightmare began. She lied when she promised to send us lots of videos and picture. While away, we begged her for videos or pictures or something, and she sent us a series of sarcastic, snarky messages about our husky. She sent two very short videos and no pictures the entire time we were gone. She argued with my wife after sending what she called a joking message about our husky, and here I am on vacation with a wife who is crying because Gretchen is acting like a psycho towards her. No apology, nothing. Right after we left our dogs, she took off her harness unbeknownst to us and only used a choke collar on her. My dogs were traumatized by her treatment. I truly believe Gretchen has some underlying issues based on our conversations, texts, and seeing how badly our dogs had been treated. She skipped at least one meal, took all our treats, and our dogs were constipated when we returned home. Do not leave your dogs with her, and do not believe all her "I used to be an executive so I know everything" bull. We had Gretchen baby sat our son/dog (mojo) while we went on our honeymoon, first off I found her through Rover.com and paid through Rover.com but then she offered to cancel the Rover payment and give a discount which now I regret doing since I can't write a review on there. When I came for the house visit with Mojo all the dogs were kenneled or sectioned off and I asked her if the dogs usually move freely since Mojo gets to roam around the house... She said they are only caged and section off due to feeding time which made sense. Gretchen had some sort of back injury/pain so didn't seem to active with the dogs, but she said she could help train mojo on his barking and wait command. She said she will send email/photo updates, which I was use to from Rover like they would do that every day. So I went with Gretchen. I had filled out all the requested forms and emailed Gretchen and she acknowledged she received it. Then my sister dropped off Mojo on a Tues. and she asked for the form that I had already emailed her. My sister said all dogs are still kenneled and sectioned off and it wasn't feeding time and they all looked sad. Kinda felt worried about that. She also didn't remember that she said she was going to train him to not bark when my sister asked about it... Then come 3rd day in of my trip she still havn't emailed or anything regarding mojo so I sent her an email, and she responded back that she was having phone issues and now it's working again (no pictures was sent). Next day I asked if she could send some pictures, she sent 1 picture of him looking miserable when he's a happy dog, with anybody else he always had a smile in pictures. So out of an 8 day stay I received 2 emails one of them included only 1 picture... 2 EMAILS, it's like really you couldn't keep me updated and anytime it's like oh my phone doesn't work, or oh this and that excuse....but when I was calling to arrange meeting time and it worked just fine all week. The only time she updated me was because I initiated it and it was like pulling teeth. Then the day when I pick him up he couldn't wait to get away from her. She didn't train him on anything, not barking, heal etc. that she said she would. On top of that she forgot to give me one of his treat box and I had to drive all the way back to get it. She was a horrible baby sitter, forgetful, unreliable, and would never use again... my precious dog was so sad... Megan from Rover did a great Job and I wish she was still baby sitting so that Mojo didn't have to go through this horrible experience. Never use again, ignore those card referrals and look at the miserable animals when you drop off your pet that should have been my first sign. read more

We love Gretchen, Phoenix goes 10-12 overnight visits a month. Im a night shift RN, he can play/be around other dogs instead of being alone for 12hrs for 3-4 nights in a row. She's been a reference to me, for issues Phoenix had and advised how to correct them. She spoils him with ice in his H2O just like home. Phoenix wasn't an eater leaving food in his bowl for days. I expressed concern, Gretchen figured out how to get him to eat his food, no issues since! She gives him supplements/antibiotic/prescription the vet has asked to give him.
