I updated the auto pay to ach right away but they were not going to refund the $221 (they would only refund $48)... so I got a new policy through State Farm with better coverage and for less. I would never deal with American Family Insurance again - based on our experience it is clear they have extremely unethical billing practices.

Initially, I was told to file a claim through this company and they did absolutely nothing for three weeks. One of the agents told me they would approve my claim, but then said they had to get approval from their manager and never called me back. After a week went by she messaged me and said they couldn't approve my claim because the driver changed their story. In three weeks time, they did absolutely nothing to investigate. They told me to do all the work basically. Eventually, I had to get my insurance involved to find the police report, the body cam, the witness statement, and footage from the intersection. All of this just prove I wasn't lying. The thing that makes me most mad is that my car sat in a tow yard for three weeks while they did nothing. It's been 22 days and my car finally got to the collision center because my insurance had to intervene and do something. After researching this company, I read, they are notorious for not paying repair costs and denying claims. I just hope nobody gets hit by a driver insured by this company because it was a complete nightmare for me.
