We hired them now (2026) to demolish the chain-link fence and install a 6-ft tall vinyl panel fence because my daughter, who has autism, elopes. We did not pay for a new land survey since the new fence was supposed to go in the same place as the old fence. Anyways, we paid to have the entire chain-link fence demolished including the 2 posts where our neighbors had connected to our fence. We paid for 2 new posts to be put in our neighbors' yards and their fences connected to the new posts. Anyways, they failed to remove the 2 posts to which our neighbors had connected their fences. As a result, our new posts are not on our property line. They offered to reimburse us for the cost of the 2 new posts for the neighbors ($168?). They are now saying one of the posts they failed to remove is actually on my neighbor's property. This would mean the land survey Dakota Fence did in 2010 was wrong and that they put our old fence in the wrong place! I believe the whole new fence on the east side of my property is several inches more than necessary from the property line. It would fit entirely within the old chain-link fence. Some of the employees said the new fence posts are 2 to 4 inches further from the property line than necessary. Now Dakota Fence is saying the old chain link fence was actually on my neighbor's property. Again, Dakota Fence surveyed the land in 2010 before putting up the chain-link fence. After I brought up my concern about the fence not being as close to the property line as desired, they attempted to find my land boundaries by locating the pins buried in the yard. They dug them up and found they were laying on their sides. Thus, they said they were not accurate. However, they are using the pins to say the old fence was not in the right place! They keep telling me different things and I do not trust them.
