I've used Rove for twenty years with the exception of a brief, ill-fated fling with worthless Aptive. Six months in I was back at Rove. I live with a nature preserve bordering my property, so mice, voles, wasps, spiders, ants, you name it and I've got it. Rove has an outstanding spray that repels box elder bugs, the scourge of summer, and a spray that seriously helps control the wasp invasion every year. I like that I get a call reminding me of my quarterly visit and I don't have to be home if I don't need the inside treated. None of their indoor applications has an odor. Not even if I walk into a room immediately after they treat it. Mice are a HUGE issue with the woods right behind me and Rove helps keep it in check with bait stations. Sometimes it's unpleasant to come across dead mice in my garden, but better dead outside than chewing through my wiring and nesting inside. I also like that they will make a return call if something isn't working and they'll change it up. Every tech that's been out here has been polite, efficient, and respectful of my home. Absolutely terrible experience. I signed up with Rove and they switched to Greenix. So hard to get a hold of customer service, They had the incorrect billing and kept sending me emails saying I owed them money. I made payments and they said they didn't receive them. I tried canceling and they told me I would have to pay a fee to cancel even though they were awful!! read more

Had ongoing mice issue from October, came back out to try and fix problem which did nothing. Didn't pay bill hoping someone would reach out and then did. Informed them of my problems with mice and nothing was done. Called today to get service to house/garage as mice have gotten really bad. Bruce chose to cancel service instead of fixing problem so I could then pay my bill. Not going to pay for a service I am not getting. Rob -- I tried to reach out and waiting to hear back. Rove Pest Control has been a great service for our home. They've done an excellent job keeping bugs out and even took care of a yellow jacket nest that was pretty intense outside by our front door. Izzy and other technicians have always been a pleasure to speak to and respectful of our home. Illegally going door to door. Sale staff refuses to show company ID or permit to sell in the city. Both of these are violations of city code. If they can't follow simple city code are they going to be above board in business? I think not. read more

if I could leave a minus star I would. I have a NO SOLICTING sign on my door with very clear instructions that if soliciting to NOT ring door bell or leave flyers - it usually works. Tonight a young man on a Hoverboard rang my door bell. When I saw the logo on his shirt I said I'm not interested and pointed to the sign. He proceeded to ask if had a pest service and with whom. We do and said we would not switch.. I didn't have time and not interested. He was pushy and still wanting to engage. The real kicker was he handed me some garbage (a wrapper) and asked if I'd throw it away. I was so dumbfounded by the whole thing and didn't know what to say... washed my hands immediately. read more

I contacted the company for issues I have every year with ants, spiders, and centipedes. I scheduled an appointment and technician came out, introduced himself. I told him my issues and then he stated the price and I proceeded to pay him, but as I was giving him my credit card asked him if there was a warranty. He told me that if the bugs returned within 90 days, it was covered. The ants returned shortly thereafter and when I contacted them I told them via text and so forth that the ants had returned. However, they stated there was no warranty. Very disappointing as I had planned to use them in the future. read more

Absolutely disgusted with sales staff. Going door to door on the Fourth of July, being extremely pushy when I said multiple times we weren't interested and too busy prepping to have people over to entertain a sales pitch, and then to be insulted by the rep saying "You're obviously not the decision maker. I'll wait here while you go get your husband." I had to ask the sales rep to repeat himself because I was *sure* I misheard the blatant sexism, but he confidently repeated "I'll wait here for your husband while you go get him, that's fine." Additionally, he was invasive and disrespectful to the entire neighborhood, who are all pissed he was bothering them on a holiday and not taking NO for an answer. Will absolutely never do business with this company that 1) has people going door to door on a holiday, 2) has disrespectful sexist staff, 3) invasive and predatory sales practices, 4) treats potential customers as though they're incompetent, and 5) blatant disregard for the multiple, highly visible "no soliciting" signs everywhere. My literal entire neighborhood was furious at this sales rep. I waited a few days to calm down from this experience to post this, and I'm still just as irritated now as I was on the 4th. read more

At first, I thought this company really had it together. I originally noticed them at a neighbors house and I called to see what they do. The agent was very nice and we got an appointment set up right away for Wednesday, May 27 between 12-5pm. At some point, without notifying me, they changed the date and time and refused to put it back to the original scheduled time that worked with my schedule which was a huge inconvenience. I canceled my appointment and my account and will no longer consider them as a trusting company. I will find a different, more reliable company to work with that will not change schedule appointments because they feel like it. Very disappointed! read more

My mouse problem had become more than I could handle. I was hearing them scampering and squeaking in the walls daily, which was starting to get really bad at night especially, and then a hole appeared one day in a kitchen wall and I saw a little snout poke out and sniff around. I called Rove the next day. The service man was very professional and friendly. Answered all of my questions and reassured me about placement of traps and concerns I had about my cats getting a hold of a poisoned mouse. He treated the inside and outside of the house. Let us know the issues he found and how he addressed them. Presently I am not hearing any noises in the walls at all...what a relief. Overall I think Rove is easy to deal with, effective and reasonably priced. I'm very happy with them. read more

I worked for the company as a sales rep. Every agreement is checked by our office and each customer gets a follow up phone call to verify that the customer is fully aware of what the terms of each agreement. I had multiple times where customers that I had signed up called and asked our technicians to do a reservice because their pests started showing up again. We showed up and performed the service free of charge. Also all customers are automatically set up on at least 1 form of communication. I always set people up on a text and email reminder before each service that way the customer knows. Great company to work for. Very well run company. If you communicate with Rove they will communicate with you to work out any misunderstanding as an employee and as a customer. read more

This is a family owned franchise - husband and wife I believe. We used them for a few years, and whenever we had issues (moles/voles, boxelders, wasps - nothing unusual for Minnesota) they ACTED like and state that they guaranteed their services - but they don't. They never follow up, and I was left to treating for the issues myself. When I tried to discontinue, they charged me a huge fee to discontinue and didn't care that I was unsatisfied. Even though I was a long-term client and their services didn't work. The owner was very combative and nasty with me. I would call someone else for sure. read more

DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. If I could give them zero stars, I would. They trick you into an annual service contract, and the cancellation fee is 60% OF THE COST OF FUTURE SERVICES. There are other, better pest control services you can use that will actually get the job done without using shady antics (and will actually come inside your home. I hardly call coming to my house when I'm not there and leaving a few mouse traps to be a service worth paying for). But they'll lock you into a contract and give you no choice. I signed up for a "special" deal to manage both mosquitoes and ticks. I have had two applications and the treatments have not made any difference in vast numbers of mosquitoes. I called the office to complain and the manager was totally useless and told me to have patients, so I guess that means to wait until January. The service provided by Rove in my experience is simply not worth the the cost they charge. The fact that you are locked into a 5 service visit annual contact w/o other options for spot treatment is incredibly inflexible and wasteful. In addition, a visit in January in frigid temperatures for exterior service is largely a wasted service. Not impressed. read more

I was a Rove customer for 1 year Don't wanted to renew for next year because I didn't like the service when I emailed to cancel they didn't replied for 2 emails then for final treatment they already did the treatment and billed me 100+ $ they never replied to email that my service is cancelled(by the time I already found other service provider & started his treatments).Even when the technician was at home he called the Office and confirmed me that that treatment is included in last year agreement then I allowed him to start working then after a month they started sending balance due amount statements and sent it to credit collections because of this very worst miscommunication from Rove I completely never recommend this service read more

I would not recommend getting into an annual contract with Rove unless you are 100% sure you will never move. We signed an annual contract and the service while I was in the home was great. We moved before the 3rd service of 4. I was billed for the service even though I didn't own the home anymore. I was never contacted to let me know they were coming out to service the home, which they had done the previous 2 times, and when I called regarding the billing they stated there was nothing they could do. So I told them to cancel the 4th scheduled service. The cancellation fee was over 60% of the service bill!! For doing nothing. They aren't going to have to use their supplies, manpower or labor. So what is costing them 60% of a service? Nothing. Just a little off the top I guess. read more

Rove came out and identified our house centipedes and spiders quickly. They treated our house inside and out, our children are no longer terrified to go downstairs. Rove comes back and treats our home and takes care of the bees and ants too. They are always polite, honest and fast. read more

I was panicked that I had bed bugs. Brian from Rove came out and inspected and was professional and answered all my questions. He even gave me tips for ways to prevent an infestation and what to look for. All the other websites I looked at gave very little information. Rove's website gave me a lot more information. They also have the heat treatment so you don't have to be deluged with chemicals. He gave me a very reasonable price but I didn't need to get it. Brian was honest, thorough, respectful and friendly. I would give less than one star if I could. As other customers have mentioned we thought we were just trying the service at a discounted rate because they were in the area. We were suckered into a summer long contract. Our biggest issue is that they DON'T EVEN WORK! We used a different service last year for mosquitoes so we know what to expect. This service appeared less expensive so we gave them a try. This service is SEVERELY LACKING! When we call to complain they offer to send someone out again, in a week or two. We are not simply trying to enjoy our backyard (which would be nice). Our daughter is ALLERGIC to mosquitoes! She gets fluid blisters, lethargic and has even gotten infections and cellulitis from them. Because of this poor excuse for a company we have not been able to change companies to protect our daughter. If that isn't enough for you. We even had one occasion where they didn't even do our backyard. They sent a new person that didn't know how to get in so they just didn't do it (they have a record of how to get in on their computer, he didn't even try). They didn't say anything just skipped it and charged us anyway. We only found out when we once again called to complain. I would like to warn everyone DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! read more

I signed a contract last year for service. I was unsure of the value of the service and to make the service more agreeable the salesperson took off one of the scheduled treatments from the typical contract. We signified this by putting a large X through the typical starting month, and writing out the price of the service in the remaining months of the calendar. However, Rove has insisted that the X signified the start of the contract and I had to pay for an additional service. I was very disappointed with the situation and would not use them again. read more

Salesman lied about the services. Said they would treat to prevent Voles from destroying our lawn. Guess what? Lawn is destroyed. Called to get my money back and they would not refund. Do not sign a contract with them. You'll be paying for no service whatsoever! I contracted with Rove Pest control (Minneapolis, St. Paul MN area) in 2010 to kill the small black ants that were taking over my lawn and landscape. For two seasons they came out every month (and more as I had to keep calling them back) to exterminate the ants. That's all I wanted done, and after two years they made no progress. The ants were never gone or even reduced in number. Nearly $100 a month for two full seasons and they accomplished nothing. My calls of complaint were always greeted with sorry excuses. I found a product online (called DeltaGard) and in the spring of 2012, as the ants were still there, in full force, I applied the DeltaGard - and I am not endorsing a product here - for a about 6 weeks. One 20lb bag and the ants were gone. Gone, period, for about $30. Rove is a ripoff, they did nothing to solve the problem for two years, and at considerable expense to me. To add insult to injury, when I informed them several times (via phone and email) that I did not want their service any longer, they refused to listen to me and insisted that I did not properly 'notify' them. They kept sending me bills for service (that they did not perform) and when I refused to pay they sent a collection agency after me. Do yourself a favor and find and EFFECTIVE and HONEST company to deal with. Rove Pest Control is a dishonest and despicable company to deal with. Search the web and you will find others whom this company has ripped off as well. read more
