I dropped off my dog on Thursday for cremation services and was informed that I would be charged more because my dog had not been weighed correctly when I brought him in. I called multiple times on Friday and Saturday to get an update on the status of my dog, often more than once per day, but received no response. The only communication I received was a text message on Sunday stating that my dog was ready for pickup. The message stated: "Pickup may be made weekdays 3 p.m.-6 p.m. or Sat/Sun before 3 p.m. or by appointment." Based on that information, I arrived at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. The employee was already leaving but did return to assist us. Unfortunately, the pickup felt rushed, and I was not given the opportunity to look at or purchase an urn before leaving. Losing a pet is an incredibly difficult experience, and I would have appreciated more consistent communication and a less rushed pickup process during such an emotional time. read more

Anytime you lose a pet is traumatic. This place is definitely old-school. But if you've been around since 1939 you must be doing something right. I was able to bring my sweet kitty here and have her cremated. She was 18 1/2 so it was pretty traumatic for me. I felt the place was calm and they were able to get her ashes to me the next day. I paid the extra for a paw print. I'm sure glad I did. It will be a great reminder. Their prices are very reasonable as I had checked other places. i'm glad I chose this location. i've had a couple of my animals cremated at this facility. Crystal is amazing. Everett is amazing . I've had to call them and asked to stay with the animal and be present while they cremate and they've always been more than accommodating. They're very nice. Crystal is totally amazing. I would not recommend this place to anyone. My companion animal/friend died in Jan. 2024. I paid for his cremation w/ a paw print, hair clippings and ashes to be returned to me after giving them his body to cremate. The hair was not his and the paw print too large to be his. To this day I do not know what happed to my animals body. Even though the $ charges were placed on a card, I was denied a receipt by Denver Pet Cemetary. All this doubt and their denial has only prolonged my loss and grief. Don't give your pet up to this buisness.....If it's too much for them to write out a receipt for services rendered, then it may be too much for them to honor what their doing with pets. read more

For the second time in nearly four years, I used the cremation services of Denver Pet Cemetery and Crematory, this time for a feral(ish) Mama kitty who graced us with her presence for nearly 17 years (as well as six of her babies...until my husband, of blessed memory, caught her--finally--and had her fixed about 15 years ago). Both Everett and Crystal were so very kind. They treated me and Mama with the utmost respect, and I had her cremains (and a lock of her hair!) within the day. Our loyal, loving family member (our dog Fritz) of almost 16 years) passed away on Saturday night. My wife called Denver Pet Cemetery on Sunday morning, and they were able to make arrangements for Fritz at 10:00 am. Sunday morning, we pulled into their quaint home-based business, and they met us at the car. I carried Fritz to their staging table, and they told us about the services they offered. Their standard cremation services and containment enclosure is very nice and much cheaper than I expected ($100), but we decided to upgrade and put Fritz into an Urn that matched his "style". Later that afternoon, my wife returned, they told her that Fritz's ashes were a little too much for the Urn we selected, and they gave us the larger Urn and no additional charge! Totally not necessary, as we would have paid the extra $10, but a great customer service gift! We are very happy with their services, kind attitude, great prices, and genuine sympathy for our loss. We have three other pets, so ultimately, we will return to have them treated with the same respect and dignity that Denver Pet Cemetery and Crematory provides! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!! P.S. I've been in touch with them for a few months because of the health of our dog, and the experience was very supportive. Our sweet girl passed early this morning and I contacted Everett immediately. We scheduled the private cremation and Grant let us be very involved, which was important to us and strangely comforting. Excellent service and staff. My only complaint is the plaster stamp of my cats paw was messed up. It was a very messy job and they didn't bother to try another time before cremating my kitty. I recently had to let go of my best friend and my baby boy who has been by my side through every phase of my life for the past 16 years. It was quite possibly the worst and saddest days that I have ever had, but Mary and Everett truly made this experience easier and more peaceful for me. I called Everett early that morning and he was so nice and compassionate, I accidentally started crying on the phone (which is embarrassing) and he was just so nice and understanding. He didn't make me feel weird and he was very patient with me in going over my options and explaining the process to me. When I showed up to the lot, Mary was waiting there for us, ready to help. I stood there with my baby in my hands and she was so respectful in giving me the time I needed with him to let him go. She wasn't pushy or trying to hurry me in any way, she gave me as much time as I needed to say goodbye. Finally, when I returned to pick up my pups ashes, he was packaged ever so sweetly in his personalized box with his name on it, his paw print and a cute little tin. They even went as far as giving me a lock of his hair. These gestures were so appreciated and truly put my heart at ease. I am so happy I found this place and I was able to work with people that value the life of a pet as much as I do. Losing your young(ish) pet suddenly and unexpectedly is an awful thing. Our family's Bernese mountain dog had been eating less than usual she went to see the family vet and then spent a night at VRCC for a full work-up. They released her Friday night and said she was back to eating and looking better. Well as soon as she got home she plopped down in a different spot than usual and wouldn't get up and wouldn't have a piece of bacon. I knew she was probably dying. When she passed around 4 am I googled pet cremation. What are we going to do with this 130 pound dog. There was just no way emotionally that we were going to load her in the car. I called Everett and he answered right away. He came to pick her up with his son. They were incredibly kind, conscientious, and polite coming into our house, engaging my 2.5 year olds question, and loading her up in their car. They could not have been more loving or gentle with her body. They offer a viewing tho we opted out of that. We did want a private cremation so we only would have her ashes. They called that night and they were available for pick up. Everett had already explained that the ashes would be in a ziplock in a velvet bag, in a box Saran wrapped. I was not as nervous to pick up. They were packed so nicely and labeled well, it is just so clear that they care. We just moved her into an urn to keep in the house. This is one of those reviews I wish I never had to write, but as life would have it, here I am. I suddenly lost my sweet little boy Parker on the early morning of September 19th. When loosing a pet (aka my child), it is hard to even know where to start. I was blessed to have my mom present when he passed, so she started making calls at 3 am, leaving messages in hopes that we could make arrangements that day to get him cremated. Denver Pet Cemetery and Crematory returned our call the second they came into the office and honestly they knew exactly what to say and how to handle the situation. I can't remember the name of the woman I spoke with, but she was amazing. She told us to take our time, spend time with him and come in when we were ready. I honestly can't tell you how much closure it gave me to be able to spend the morning with him and say goodbye. When we arrived , we worked with a young girl who helped us to get a clay paw print, then left us to be with him until we were ready. As we sat under their big trees, there was a peace in knowing he was in good hands with the staff at Denver Pet Cemetery and Crematory. There was no pressure to buy their urns or any other services - they just wanted us to know he was in a better place and that they were sorry for our loss. When we brought Parker to Denver Pet Cemetery and Crematory, I had him wrapped in my baby blanket. I assumed we would have to leave him with nothing (that was the policy when we had his brother cremated), however they allowed me to give them to him, wrapped up nice and tight in the blanket. As silly as this may sound, I loved knowing he was wrapped in my blanket when he was in the freezer waiting for his turn. After only 3 days, they called to let us know he was ready. The Denver Pet Cemetery and Crematory had his remains in a nice, blue velvet bag that had a poem on it called Under The Rainbow Bridge. Additionally, they had put the blanket in a velvet bag too, which meant the world to me. At the time, we didn't know the average cost of pet cremation, however after receiving return calls we found Denver Pet cemetery and Crematory was not only amazing to work with, but they are also the cheapest around. For the cremation services and a paw print, I think it was exactly $100. Their facilities are not fancy in the slightest (aka barns), which I assume is why the cost is so low. Unfortunately, our dog "Pumpkin" passed away during the night and we had to find arrangements for him on Valentine's Day. This place was not only open on the weekend, but also on Valentine's Day to our surprise. The gentleman who I spoke with on the phone was incredibly compassionate and understanding. I actually couldn't maintain my composure during our phone call and he was incredibly empathetic and professional. It was personally really hard for me to see Pumpkin at the house and so having them able to take him on such sort notice was really appreciated. The grieving process is incredibly difficult as it has only been a couple days since his passing. None of the urns or extras were pushed on us when we came in with pumpkin. We requested paw prints to be done and this request was kindly accepted. My heart goes out to all those who have lost a loved one. Rest In Peace sweet little Pumpkin. Thank you for all the happiness and comfort you brought into this family for the past 18 years. We shall see you again one day little guy. My cat Sophie passed away Friday night I called Denver pet cemetery and was able to get an appointment that same evening. Their prices are very reasonable the staff is very kind and caring they made a difficult time easier to handle. I received my baby's remains the next day. They give you a lovely velvet bag with the ashes in it and I chose to have her paw print in clay which turned out nice, even has her name on it, and I also got a lock of her fur. I highly recommend this place they also have a little cemetery if you choose to bury your pet. read more

This is hard review..... I had previously only used a privately owned small business cremation service who was uber professional and very personalized. It was another blow to the heart when I was making arrangement for euthanasia to find out the previously used cremation business had sold out to a cooperation. Long story short is I did call the corporate owned local cremation and it was cold, unpersonalized and 100% what I did NOT want during this dreadful time. I quickly did a google search and found Denver Pet Cemetery and Crematory. I called and the owner of the business (I'd assume it was the owner) was SO very kind and comforting and just what I needed. This is a privately owned small business as well which was reassuring. We scheduled a time to take our beloved to them for cremation after we had to say goodbye. When we arrived, a couple was waiting for us and were very nice and understanding. Our sweet beloved's remains were ready by noon the next day. They give you clipping of hair which I've never had and now wish that had been an option with previous pets. It's nothing fancy, so know that but no need for fancy in this circumstance. Apparently one of Shirley Temple's dog is buried here. I will use them moving forward but hopefully it's a long time before I would need them again. read more

Going in to a place completely lost, upset, destroyed, disoriented you have no idea what to do. Going through google just trying to find the right place. I am extremely thankful I trusted this place and didn't choose any other one. I read the one star comment and can see where there is room for improvement, which would be to inform people a little bit on how it works when they first arrive. I could see how they could take the Grants personally personal but it's definitely not that way. Everyone is absolutely different and you just know they are there for you. What had me so out of worlds was the amount of detail and care you put into him. All the things we received warmed up our hearts. I do not like leaving bad reviews. Unfortunately this time it is necessary. I would like to spare other pet owners from seeing what I saw today. I had two cats whe died two years apart. They were best friends.The first was euthanized at the emergency vet and was cremated at Denver Pet Cemetery. I received a cardboard box wrapped in plastic wrap with a certificate on it. It sat on the shelf until I euthanized the second cat at our regular vet and he was cremated somewhere else. I received a beautiful wood box that contained a baggie filled with what cremated remains are supposed to look like (kind of like kitty litter)with a certificate. Also the fee was less than at Denver Pet Cemetery. Today I was in a good place to take the ashes out of the cardboard box and put them in the wooden box. I removed the plastic wrap and opened the box to find a baggie of what looks like campfire ashes and chunks of bone. Whole pieces of bone. I can easily see a jaw bone, teeth, part of a skull and several ribs. I will be consulting someone to find out if this is actually my cat. I cannot even begin to explain how upsetting this is. I would say that these people should be ashamed of themselves, however, I suspect that they are not capable of such things. read more

Last Saturday morning at 8am, we unexpectedly found Milo, one of our three beloved cats, had passed in our spare bedroom bed's boxspring. I lost my cockatiel Wazee on March 28th. I had just finished a movie and was going to turn out lights and go to bed when I realized Wazee was not moving. I pulled him from his cage and held him for a while, then wrapped him up and put him in the freezer for safe keeping. I had never had a bird before and had very much enjoyed the pleasure of having Wazee in my life with all his primping and chirping for about 5 years. I had just had to put down Twister, my 22 year old cat, on January 2nd and the vet handled the arrangements of having her cremated for me. This time I was able to take time and make phone calls and make a decision based on my own searching. I called a number of places. Denver Pet Cemetery was not only the cheapest, but by far the most wonderful to talk to regarding how to handle a loved one lost. After speaking with a number of different companies, there was no doubt in my mind who to call back. I spoke with a different woman than my initial call, and she was just as wonderful to speak with regarding making arrangements for Wazee as the first one. When I pulled into the driveway I knew I had made the right decision. The women I dealt with were as wonderful in person as the were on the phone during both my initial call and when I had called to make the final arrangements. There is a room with all differeny types of urns for a final resting place for your loved one if you choose. This was so much better than the picking from a book I had to do with Twister in January. I gave Wazee a last hug and watched him be placed into the cremation chamber. I than walked around the cemetery until he was ready to go home. The cemetary was so peaceful, full of old trees and beautiful stones that marked the final resting places of furry family members that like my pets were obviously just as much a part of the family as any human loved ones. I will always have pets in my family. My cat Shadow is now 12, Lotus is my new kitten and I look forward to finding another bird someday soon because my home seems so quiet without the beautiful chirping to greet me. I lost my baby on Valentine's Day night and I had no clue how or what to do that night. However, this place was open when we were most in need and not to mention it was a lot cheaper than other places. For my baby it was $250 while at another place I called it was $1,250. The staff did not pressure us into buying any urns or anything and also brought my baby back the same day they took him.
