I had a really unfortunate situation occur with my kitty and she had to have her leg amputated. I think it was harder for me than it was for her as any pet owner knows that's the second most devastating decision you can make. The reason for no 5 stars honestly? Is because of everyone BUT Lindsey (Lindsay? I'm sorry) and prices seem a little high. Idk how she does her job so professionally. This vet took xray of my dog to determine why he was limping. Showed the xray to me and how his hip was not in the socket fully. My 2 yr old dog had hip dysplasia! We took Tux to an orthopedic surgeon who explained Tux is fine! The ER vet had him crooked on the table when xray was taken. This vet caused grief and worry over nothing!!!! I fortunately had to drop my 13 year old Blue-haired Yorkie. He had been suffering from an advanced stage of crushing disease... His liver finally gave out and it was reported that he was in diabetic shock. I of course was heart broken- out of panic I called my mom to tell her "mom I think Baxter is dying." She immediately ran over and we took Baxter to this emergency center. Dr Martin was super sweet and very helpful. She explained to me what I was to expect. And I made the decision to put him down later that morning but I begged please let me spend a few hours with him. Her concern of him suffering in pain was valid and I didn't hang on to him but for a few hours. He seemed ok but he was not the same during his final hours. My moms normal vet was able to finish his visit a few hours later. I was prepared to let Baxter go and he didn't seem to exhibit much pain. I miss the bugger so much. I hope that he's in a better place now. I've learned one thing with this experience; cherish the times you have together... because they are gone in a flash.. now I wish I hadn't been so hard on him for leaving poop on my floor. Being a holiday weekend and all regular vets were closed, had to bring an unhappy kitty to the emergency clinic when her tooth started to bother her and eventually fell on its own in the morning. Called ahead and the receptionist said there was a doctor on duty and they would be able to see our cat right away.. Upon arriving, the staff here was incredibly friendly and knowledgable. Dr. Monk was able to assess dental disease immediately and administered pain meds and antibiotics painlessly. The office was very clean and quiet. They accept all small animals, common and exotic. Its open after hours after all vets usually close..Mon - Thur 5 PM til 8 AM and then 24 hours on the weekends. read more

My elderly dog had been having serious health problems for two months. One night she started acting totally out of character, and my wife and I knew she was close to the end. Around 4:00 AM, she started to have a major seizure. We knew we couldn't wait until our regular vet opened at 9:00 AM, so we took her to Pet Emergency Center in Tamarac, which was the closest animal hospital open at that time. Paige and Dr. Monk were on duty that night. Paige was very compassionate and sensitive to our needs from beginning to end. Dr. Monk was professional and didn't sugarcoat our dog's prognosis. We knew what we had to do, but they gave us the 40 or so minutes we needed to convince ourselves it was the right decision for our baby girl. The prices are expensive compared to a normal vet, but they are reasonable for a 24-hour emergency animal care facility. After our dog was stabilized, we were presented with bills showing the estimated costs of various options for treatment. At no time did we feel pressured to make a particular decision. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I took my 1 year old English bulldog here around 3am last night because his face was swelling up and he had hives all over his body. The tech by the name of Kendra was a miserable and condescending person. She had the nastiest attitude when speaking to my mother and I. Constant eye rolls and never showed an OUNCE of compassion. In this type of situation, the last thing you want to deal with is rudeness...you just want your pet to feel better. I get it, it was late and she probably didn't want to be there-I definitely didn't... no one wants to have to watch their pet in discomfort and pain. But that is what she decided to do for a living. She was absolutely disgusting when my mother and I would ask questions, answering them in a way that suggested that we should have already known the answer, yet she was talking huge medical terminology and I'm sorry but I was an English major in college. I was so close to snapping right back at her but I actually have manners. On the other hand, the vet, Seth, was extremely helpful and nice. Nothing to complain about with him. Also, they should really consider hiring professionals to clean the trail of blood splatters from an obvious emergency that lead up to the front door. They look as if they have been there for a very long time and no one wants to see that when going into a pet hospital. Just makes you think the absolute worst. read more

Absolutely phenomenal experience. We took our dog in on a Friday night, after a run in with a neighbor dog left our Yorkie with a 1/2" puncture wound in between his shoulder blades. Pet Emergency took us in right away. They were extremely kind, and explained to us all our options. When a treatment plan was written up, they reviewed everything (including price details) before taking our dog back for the procedure to treat the dog bite. The procedure was done quicker than expected and we were able to pick him up right away. His medication was explained in detail and they answered all my questions completely, and patiently. (I was a little flustered.) My dog had an issue with one of the medications a few days later and I called them back. Again, they were beyond helpful. Hope we don't have to visit again, but I would recommend this to any pet lover who needs emergency care. read more

Outstanding service from the first phone call to the invoice. Took my older dog over late this Tuesday night for a minor emergency. She was treated and we were out the door in 30 minutes. Obviously, this is an emergency vet center so I did expect to pay a fair amount. I was pleasantly surprised to find the prices reasonable for an emergent basis and felt no pressure for unnecessary testing. Best of all the veterinarian and technician were both highly competent individuals who really cared about animals. More than I can say about most regular vets. The doctor was nice but over medicated my dog who had so much anesthesia and pain medication that it paralyzed him and a few hours later he died in my car on the way to a hospital because he stopped breathing this was at around 1 a.m. when I took him there because he was in a lot of pain and I was going to get the diagnostic results from another vet at 8 a.m. the receptionist was cold as ice, no compassion whatsoever which by the way is needed to be in that industry. I had taken my dog to three vets and two hospitals from Thursday to Saturday and nobody could tell me why my dog was suffering in agony, and I was lost and this employee told me I was insulting her because I called her a receptionist and she corrected me to say she was a nurse. I had just left their office about an hour and the doctor told me he would be there til 10 a.m. if I needed him, but she would not let me speak to him. She said to me he has neurological problems. I put the phone close to my dog who was lying down and because of the anesthesia couldn't get up and tried to continue barking and making agonizing sounds from pain. I am crying and I said to her does this sound to you like it's neurological. She said give him more pain medication. I said but the dr gave him an injection already for pain, is it safe to give him more? She said yes. Then tells me not to call because I insulted her and that she was going to hang up the phone and then she hung up around 10 a.m. my dog died in my car on the way to a hospital. I screamed and cried and still crying. He was the only dog I ever had. He was going to be 13 years old in August 2020. He suffered a horrible death, and I could not get an answer or any compassion from this nurse. She's in the wrong profession. Shame on her. This happened Sunday May 20, 2020. Horrible way to spend mother's day. My rating for this place is zero "0". Don't take your dog or cat there. read more

I went to the Tamarac location with my cat who had an obvious urine infection. (He couldn't pee!!) Because I was not willing to pay over $600 for unnecessary tests, I was sent home with pain medicine for $263. I then had to go to my regular vet to get the meds I needed. We took our Golden Retriever here on Thursday night when she had a sudden onset of seizures. Kendra Winter was the initial contact. She was wonderful! Dr Jessica Martin was the vet that took care of us. She was compassionate, informative and knowledgeable. We felt that we were cared for and guided properly. I've visited this facility back in March 24, 2017 with my female dog who had gone into labor.. I have welped litters before and I new something was wrong, so I took her here. They euthanized all 8 of her full term puppies because they didn't believe in breeding nor the breed.i told them she was an American bully they said she was Pitbull. I knew something was terribly wrong when they wouldn't allow me to stay during C-section. They kicked me out and locked the doors. I knew those puppies were alive before the C-section because they were kicking and flipping and moving they were alive they had heartbeats.As I let them do the C-section to my dog they told me that I had to have her spade if they would save her life. It was some kind of blackmail either I let them do what they wanted to my dog or they would let her die. This place killed all my puppies! All of them. I wished I could post a picture of this demented job the vet did. I'm so angry this hurts so bad! I still cry over this. I have 2 years after to sue and I think I will. On May 27, 2014 I had to take my dog to an emergency hospital due to having problems urinating and not eating. I took my dog to Saint Francis Hospital due to its close location to my residence. Upon my arrival the staff was pleasant, but the facility had an odor. My dog was diagnosed with bladder stones based on x-rays alone. He was given a catheter and kept overnight. I was told that he needed surgery to remove the stones in the amount of $1200-$1400. On May 28, 2014 I went back to Saint Francis and was informed that the previous person had made a mistake and the surgery was going to be $1500-$1700. I called a friend and was referred to Pet Emergency Center in Tamarac, Prior to my arrival I had spoken with Paige at Pet Emergency it was decided that I was being overcharged and that my dog could come to the center that night. She made me feel relaxed and listened to me without interrupting. She kept ensuring me that my dog would get the best care. She was right. That day, I discharged my dog from Saint Francis and took him to Pet Emergency Center. Upon arrival the facility was much cleaner and the overall odor was more pleasant; one would not even know it was a pet emergency center. Lindsay greeted me when I walked in and immediately took me back to the room. She kept coming in to make sure I was okay and took all my information (due to another pet emergency). Dr. Nicole Amon was on duty that night and again listened to my whole story and told me in detail what she planned on doing. She stated that she would look at the x-rays and do blood and urine work (which was NOT done at the previous hospital). I was told that I would be contacted that night on how my dog did with surgery. While at Pet Emergency Center Paige followed up with to ensure I was getting the best care possible. Again she made me feel relaxed and reassured me that my dog would be fine. Around 9:00 p.m. that night Dr. Amon contacted me and stated that my dog had been wrongly diagnosed and he did not need surgery. She had taken the time to do tests and re-do x-rays and did not find any stones. Pet Emergency Center is not about getting money, but trying to correctly diagnosing your pet. Overall, the staff (Paige and Lindsay) were phenomenal and deserve 10 stars for their professionalism and overall way of making me feel relaxed in this stressful situation. Dr. Amon also deserves 10 stars for her dedication and determination. I would highly, highly recommend Pet Emergency Center to anyone. Although this place was about 30 minutes from my house it was well worth the drive and I would drive all day to get here. We named him Tom. Since he was a stray he was everyone's cat. He was a welcome sight and was fed by the woman in the neighboring community She noticed he was starting to slow down and he eventually ended up in the doorway of one of our neighbors house a few days later during a rain storm. He was taken in and it was apparent he was extremely sick or hurt. Action needed to be taken and that meant finding a compassionate, yet affordable solution for him. Another neighbor, Teresa, set out looking for an animal hospital that evening that could help and was disappointed in the manner some answers were given to our situation from a nearby hospital. She left there and a short way down the road she found the PET EMERGENCY CENTER. She was given the information she needed from Dr. Sheila Boughton with care and compassion for our predicament and concern for Tom's suffering. At that moment, she knew the few hours Tom may have left would be in the best possible care. Teresa came back to get Tom and another neighbor, Janet, went with her to the hospital. Once we got there we are greeted by Paige Obrig, the hospital manager. She was very professional and caring as well. Once settled into the examination room Paige confirmed our fears. Tom was indeed in bad shape. He was panting and was having a very hard time breathing. We believe he may have been hit by a car . She was also so kind as to talk by phone to the neighbor who had taken Tom in during the storm as she was very upset . She was hoping Tom could be treated and brought home to her so he could live with her and have a home. Unfortunately that was not the case. Paige was so comforting and helped to calm her down. Dr. Boughton came in and examined Tom and confirmed it was indeed time for Tom to be let go. As it turned out Tom was drowning in his own fluid and let us know we made the right decision by bringing him in. She was extremely compassionate and answered all of our questions and concerns. It was very sad when we had to say good by There were a lot of tears, hugs and an unspoken compassion for a little stray we named Tom. The service was priceless and the fee was reasonable and we highly recommend the PET EMERGENCY CENTER for all after hours care for our pets. We give them an A+ in all aspects of care and compassion. Our cat was having issues with not being able to urinate and was trying to go everywhere. We called Pet Emergency Center and were told to come in right away. All the blood work and other tests were done on the premises and we had results right away. We were able to start our cat on medication right away. The doctor discussed issues we will need to watch for since some of the tests showed potential problems down the road. They sent our regular doctor the results. I lost my beautiful fur baby dog last Monday, when I arrived to this center at around 1am the front desk person was not sensible at all when my little one could not breath well, then came Dr. Monk and told me that she was not going to make it, she was in cardiac arrest as he explained, immediately they told me to leave the center and go home, I wasn't going anywhere but they did not let me stay in the reception area either so I had to stay in the parking lot until almost 5am when Dr Monk called and said that she just passed away, he didn't call me to be with her in her last moments as I requested. The two people working there that night had no empathy at all, they were the worst people to be with a dying little one, not sensitive and they did not allow me to be with my baby in her last moments. IF YOU LOVE YOUR BABIES DONT TAKE THEM TO THIS PLACE, NOT EVEN 1 STAR TO THEM!!! I HAD TO MARK 1 STAR BECAUSE IT WOULDNT LET ME POST IT, BUT THEY DONT DESERVE IT!!! read more

On June 28, 2014 I brought my American Bulldog named Gia in after she wouldn't eat for 3 days, was very lethargic, and was vomiting bile. I was desperate after coming over from one of the "supposed" best animal hospitals in Broward (which shall not be named.) I was told at this last pet hospital that Gia had a definite bowel obstruction and without immediate $3,700-4,700 surgery my dog would die the next day. I was offered no other options or treatments. I could only come up with $3,500 so I desperately looked for a second option with time ticking and it being Saturday night. I found Pet Emergency Center in Tamarac and immediately called and spoke to Paige. Paige was an angel! She made me feel at ease and told me to come right in and that Gia's surgery would fit into my budget. Walking in, I was immediately greeted by Paige who very quickly introduced me to the wonderful and caring Dr. Keiser. They both patiently explained in detail what the plan was. They also answered all questions thoroughly and involved me in Gia's treatment plan. After viewing her xrays Dr. Keiser was not convinced Gia had an obstruction so wanted to try another treatment before doing an invasive surgery. I left Gia that night knowing she was in good hands. I received a call a few hours later from Dr. Keiser who gave me a good update. She was responding well to treatment. I also liked the fact that the Dr. calls you. Next morning, I spoke to the equally kind Dr. Munk. New xrays showed no obstruction! Gia was coming home that night and was misdiagnosed from the last hospital I took her to. She almost had a surgery for a bowel obstruction that didn't exist! Thanks to the Drs and staff at Pet Emergency Center they put your pets needs first before profit. Picking Gia up that night with a diagnosis of gastroenteritis the lovely nurse Lindsey and Dr. Munk explained in detail her discharge info and I left with a lower bill than I expected. I am so thankful to Paige, Lindsey, Dr. Keiser, Dr. Munk and all other staff at Pet Emergency Center for saving my best friend and making such a stressful time a lot easier for Gia and me. If your beloved animal is unfortunately ever in an emergency I would now never trust anyone but Pet Emergency Center with the life of my best friend. Today I lost a pet sitting client, a breaded dragon at this clinic. They called my client and told her the options. My client decided to put him down due to medical issues. The Vet was nice, but the vet tech that was on duty...she was horrible! Trying to rush me as I wanted to say goodbye my client's breaded dragon. I understand that there were other emergencies going on, but have some compassion! I didn't even get the vet tech's name, because I was beside myself, crying, couldn't believe I wasn't leaving with him. But she had long black hair and light eyes. I wasn't even allow to stay till he had passed. She didn't allow me to stand by the little box they put reptiles in when they are being put to sleep. I didn't even know how it was done till she told me...made me feel sorry I even asked. My experience was NOT pleasant with this vet tech. I'm shock and angry that she was on duty. If she was cranky, then too bad...my client's breaded dragon was dying and she showed no compassion. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! PEPCID OR EUTHANIZE???? It's taken me over a year to be able to post a review. In July 2015 my 13 year old, 10lb Shitzu blew up like a balloon for the very 1st time in her life. We know she was very uncomfortable and had to rush her to the pet emergency hospital and I didn't want to wait until 7am for my amazing vet to open. Dr Monk took x-rays and said her stomach has a gastric torsion which is only common in large breed dogs. He said he has never seen this in his life in a small breed and recommended either we euthanize her or have them perform a surgery that my baby wouldn't survive (both costing thousands of dollars). The agony of spending 3 hours there trying to make the right decision in the wee hours of the morning. They wasted no time getting us approved for credit since this isn't the kind of cash we carry around. As time went on, Dr Monk was very uncompassionate, forcing us to hurry up and make a decision as its life or death decision and proceeded to tell me how much pain my baby was in and how she was going to die in a matter of hours if that long. When I looked in my baby's eyes and realized she might be feeling better and noticed her belly going down, I knew either of these decisions would be the wrong decision. We decided to leave this cold basement like place and take her home. If we had to put her down, this cold hearted office would not be the place to do it. I stayed awake with her all night until her real vet opened up. Dr Carl Ansara has been taking care of her for years. When we got there, he took x-rays and she was 100% better. He put her on a light diet and I just kept an eye on her. She is currently on a raw food diet due to her sensitive belly and today she is very happy and healthy! I just cant imagine that I was ever put into a position to have to make such a devastating decision. My baby will be 15 in January and is very happy and healthy. No thanks to the pet emergency center. Needless to say, we will never be back and yes, word of mouth speaks volumes. Dr Monk is very cold-hearted and forceful. Obviously, he doesn't understand how painful it is to have to make such an immediate decision. All I do every day is thank god that I listened to my inner gut rather than this quacks opinion! read more

By far the best place to take your pet in an emergency! Dr. Seth is one of the most caring animal Doctors I've met. Most emergency hospitals I've visited for anything have never shown the compassion Dr. Seth has shown. I'm forever in his debt. My Mini Schnauzer was in labor and we discovered a pup was too big to pass through the birth canal. She then got a high fever and I rushed her to Pet Emergency Center and was helped right away. Took a very sick pet in on Thursday night. The vet and the tech couldn't have been nastier. Actually questioned me why it took me so long to get there. I was shocked at how harshly the tech dealt with my unconscious pet. Horrible vet. Horrible tech. Would never go back and I tell everyone I know how terrible they are. I have to take my fiancés sick cat to this place on a weekend evening. While she is in the exam room with the cat, I decide to wait in the lobby. There was no other customers or staff waiting with me. A young couple comes to the locked front door, looking frantic and holding their wounded 10 week old puppy. I haven't seen an employee in 5-10 minutes, so I let the couple in. Once the assistant/receptionist comes back to the front desk, she talks to me with an attitude like I am a little kid because I let in a couple. PLEASE READ THIS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WE HAD WITH DR MONK AND FRONT DESK LADY BY THE NAME OF LINDSAY. The very end of June my daughter and her friend rescued two baby bunnies in NC that were orphaned. We are huge animal lovers and actually spend our summers there. We are such animal lovers that we actually travel in our RV with three dogs, one cat and one adult bunny. Of course we let the kids bring them home. We kept one and her friend took the other. Our baby rabbit, Pinky, was doing great for the five weeks that we cared for it. Well last night or in the early morning hours at approximately 2 am our Pinky started squealing and my husband, myself and our daughter (15) rushed to see what was wrong. The rabbit had been eating earlier and we had no idea what was wrong but knew we had to act quickly. Our daughter called to find a vet with night hours and we were referred to the Tamarac location because the location on Cypress Creek did not deal with rabbits. The woman who answered the phone (Lindsay) basically told my daughter that there were three other people in the waiting room. My daughter told me this and we were okay with this because we still needed to get dressed and drive there from East Fort Lauderdale. We get there in approximately 35 minutes. My husband had the rabbit in his arms wrapped loosely in a soft towel and my daughter was extremely distraught. No other customers in waiting room or at this establishment. The rude woman, Lindsay, flung open the waiting room door and looked at my daughter and told her she is to stay in the waiting room and for my husband to bring the rabbit back. My daughter and I waited while my husband saw Dr. Monk. A few minutes later Dr. Monk went and sat next to Lindsay and asked me if I had ever taken the rabbit to a vet. When I said the rabbit had not been to a vet he shouted rudely to us and said that was our first mistake. This so called vet then went back into the room where my husband and bunny were. According to my husband this is what this rude vet did and said: picked up rabbit, turned rabbit over, put rabbit down then stated the following: rabbit has a fever, dehydrated, has diarrhea, has virus and possibly neurological issues. Told my husband it would be $800.00. Of course my husband was shocked. My husband knew that rabbits are extremely delicate and many times no matter what you do they wind up unfortunately dying. my husband then asked this doctor what the cost would be to euthanize Pinky and he was told $140.00. My husband told the vet that he wanted to speak to me about the situation so I was asked to come back there by Lindsay. I go into the room and it was just my husband and I and my husband told me what the vet said. We knew the rabbit was never going to make it and to pay so much money was crazy. My husband then said to me that the vet appeared to have a major attitude and was very rude. Please keep in mind my husband had no idea that this vet was extremely rude to me just moments before. My gut and instincts were telling me that something is very wrong at this place and that I did not like or trust either one of these folks. My husband then tells me that he just wants to leave this horrible place. So with that I told my husband that I would check out and pay the $70.00 that was their office visit and we would go somewhere else. We were actually so turned off and so weirded out that we did not even want them or him to euthanize our poor bunny even if they did it for free. Money was NEVER an issue. We would do anything for our pets. So I go out to Lindsay and very nicely told her that we have decided to take Pinky with us and that I just wanted to pay the bill. Her response: What? I again said thank you but this was our decision. She told me that I can't take Pinky until I talk to the doctor. I tried again to just pay but she would not take my credit card and started calling for the doctor to come up front. So this vet, comes up and is next to Lindsay and starts shouting And yelling at my daughter and I. The following is what he was shouting: what is wrong with you people. You people are the most inhumane people that he has ever met and so many rude comments. I kept asking Lindsay to please let me pay so that we could be on our way and she would NOT LET ME PAY OR EVEN TAKE MY CREDIT CARD. My husband is now been in the car waiting for us not sure what is going on. This jerk of a vet then starts yelling at me and says YOU BETTER LOOK AT ME RIGHT NOW WHEN I AM TALKING TO YOU. I thought I was in the worst nightmare of my life and could not believe that he was actually yelling at me and ordering me to look at him. I had enough and looked at this BASTARD AND BULLY and told him he will not yell or speak to me like that and I would no longer put up with him. Going to an emergency vet is never a pleasant experience but Lindsay and Dr. Monk make it much easier. I've had to visit a couple of times-once when one of my cats I had just adopted had a urinary tract infection (which can be life threatening so I wasn't waiting until the next day for the free exam that you get when you adopt from the humane society) and last night when 1 cat had nipped the other. After seeing my cat hurt and bleeding (I was in another room and didn't witness the event) I called and Lindsay patiently explained the urgency of the situation and if I was not going to bring her in that night (which she strongly recommended) what I should do if I decided to wait and why she should be seen immediately the next day so I decided to bring her in that night. I am so glad I did. They saw her quickly and treated her so gently and efficiently it was like she was their pet. Dr. Monk is not only one of the kindest vets (or ANY other type of doctor I have met) he is one of most knowledgeable vets I have ever seen and since my cats are the only family I have, I am extremely fussy about who handles my babies, most vets do not live up to my standards. My only disappointment is that I can;t use them as my regular vet. Last night as Lindsay calmed me down ( was very upset as my kitty was bleeding and hurt), Dr. Monk examined her, explained what could have caused the nip and what I could do to prevent it from happening again, then Lindsay and Dr. Monk patiently explained the necessary after care, answering all of my questions . Their kindness, knowledge and efficiency raises the bar in veterinary care. Most vets could learn from their example, and to top it off their prices are the same as my regular vet !! It is obvious that they love and care about the pets they treat, it's not just about making money as so many doctors are these days. I cannot put into words my gratitude, respect and appreciation. Our bunny was attacked by a cat that got into our enclosed yard early morning about 3am, Christmas morning. While our beloved bunny was bleeding and my wife was working on helping it, I was frantically calling every 24 hour animal hospital I could find in the phone book and online. They all kept telling me they only help dogs and cats. After calling animal hospitals, and emergency animal clinics in Miami and Broward, finally someone gave me a number which led me to the Pet Emergency Center in Tamarac. The woman who answered the phone said to bring the bunny right in! So we drove an hour from Miami-Dade to Tamarac and they were able to save our bunny! Turns out the doctor who helped us, Amanda Grant has a bunny too. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable about our situation and when I called back that day several times with questions, Lindsay was happy to answer them. Even though it is an hour drive away from my home, I certainly will be back soon! read more

I went in at 1:00 AM because my dog was throwing up. Saw Dr. Nicole Amon, she asked me the normal questions, but because I said my dog wasn't fixed, she wanted to do X-rays to rule out Pyometra which they told me can be fatal. Of course, I had them run the X-rays. X-rays came back normal as per the Dr. I was given a detailed report and findings in the visit along with the X-rays on a cd. She was diagnosed with gastritis and given a shot of cerenia for her nausea. My dog was ok for the next few days, then started throwing up yet again. This time I took her to another emergency Hospital as it was on a Sunday. They ran bloodwork and looked at the X-rays previously taken at the Tamarac Pet Emergency Center. The Doctor tells me my dog's liver is a little enlarged. This was never told to me at the previous visit nor written on the report. Come to find out my dog had liver cancer and it was very aggressive from one week to the next. Once I found out, I wanted to give my baby girl a chance and sought chemo treatment. She was with me for 19 more days from the diagnosis and passed away in our arms on 12/22/13. I have spoken to the manager at the Tamarac Center of my concerns, that was over 2 weeks ago. I blame Tamarac for only looking for one thing, not seeing it and sending me on my way with a misdiagnosis that caused me precious time with my dog. The fact that the manager could not even be bothered to let me know what her form of action would be is sending me to seek legal action against this facility. Seems like they place the vets who just got their degree on call at that time. No offense, but I didn't need the guessing game for the diagnosis of my dog. You get paid tons of money for guessing, in my industry, you guess you get penalized by the IRS.... I don't make nearly as much as they do. Veterinary Industry is nothing more than a money scam. I miss my baby very much and will never be sucked into the my dog must be vaccinated annually and heartworm preventions. It's all money for them and a shorter life for my little angel. read more
