My rabbit choked on hay at home, then became very congested in his nasal passages over the weekend. I didn't want him to wait until Monday for his regular vet, so I brought him to Pet Emergency Center to be checked on a Sunday. We waited a very reasonable time to be seen by Dr. Schneider, who was excellent. She flushed my rabbit's nasal passages to remove any hay that might have been stuck, then prescribed meds. The tech and front desk were equally as pleasant and thorough. My rabbit is fine today and I wouldn't hesitate to take either of my bunnies for care during off-hours when my regular exotic vet isn't available. I'm a donor of a cat that was brought into this vet for care. When they arrived they were greeted by Lindsey who was incredibly rude. They were told she was doing great after spending 4 weeks there and over $5000 spent. The condition of the cat after being picked up was horrific. She was completely incontinent, had a prolapsed rectum, and reeked of urine and feces. She had a uti and an ear infection. It breaks my heart to know that she was sitting for weeks in a vets office in this condition. She was completely neglected by this hospital after being told she was in wonderful condition. She was brought to another reputable vet and ultimately had to be humanly euthanized. What this poor cat endured under the care of this vet is both heartbreaking and terrifying. No animal should have to endure such suffering from an establishment that's supposed to help and advocate for them. read more

I highly recommend this hospital for all your emergency needs. I could tell my cat wasn't feeling well and I don't have a regular doctor. It had been three days now my kitty had a fever you could tell by touching her nose. And she gave a little squeak when I picked her up which was not her normal. I took her in and they did a sonogram. HORRIBLE SERVICE. Do not take your dog there for emergencies. I repeat, do NOT bring your dog there for emergencies. My puppy was super sick, shacking, breathing very slowly. We got there and asked the girl at the front if it was going to take long. She said 'it will be a little bit of time because we have a critical case ahead'. She then disappeared for the next hours. No update, no communication, NOTHING. A dog patient came in bleeding from his nose. They took 10 min to just even answer the door and ask the owner what was going on. Then they let him wait outside for hours, again, with no update or communication. When the rude heartless woman finally came out, we asked for an update and she was so rude!!!! Then proceeds to lie and tell her that she said it was going to take hours. It she had said that, we would have left. Both my partner and I heard the same thing and she straight up lied to our face then threatened to call 911. I never ever write bad reviews, but this woman was so rude I could not even believe it. And instead of trying to make things right, she told us we could just leave. It was a Saturday and only a few emergency centers were open. I will call back on Monday and make sure I speak with the doctor in charge. This is so ridiculous. This woman should not be working at a pet emergency center. We recently had a serious health issue with one of our amazing cats who has been with us for over 12+ years. It was 7:00 PM, and we were feeling completely hopeless with our situation. We made a couple of calls and the next thing we knew we were walking into the Pet Emergency Center. We were immediately welcomed and made to feel that our situation was as important to them as it was to us. While we were waiting to see Dr. Lee. Lindsay came out and started to do a preliminary exam on our cat and immediately noticed that she appeared to be dehydrated. A short while later we were in a room, and we met with Dr. Lee. Dr. Lee was so caring and compassionate and took the time to explain everything that was going on and what the probable issue was with our girl. It was determined that she had an infection, which caused the dehydration. Ultimately, we left with a proper diagnosis and a cat who was significantly better than what we came in with. A few days later and our girl is back to normal although still being treated for the infection. I can't begin to say enough of the amazing help that we received from Dr. Lee and Lindsay. You were both there for us at a time where we needed help. Even after hours, we had a place to go and for that I want you to know how much you are appreciated. We had a very positive experience with a rescue that we pulled from Broward County animal control. Went in because my cat had a UTI which was the first time he's ever gotten sick. I freaked out on a Sunday and took him here in a rush. Super overpriced and the treatment they gave him was some pain meds. They prescribed him science hill food which is what most vets prescribe and is expensive. I bought him urinary track food and liquid vitamins and that is what did the trick. They charged me a small fortune and I wish it happened on a different day because my regular vet is pretty good and I could've saved the trip and $ during this difficult time. I wholeheartedly recommend this emergency pet care center. My little Yorkie began experiencing severe problems breathing. He was gasping for air and even passing out from not being able to breath. I took him to my regular vet, who diagnosed him with an enlarged heart that was crushing his trachea, but the vet needed to have their cardiologist review the ultrasound and x-rays. And although we discussed he would need heart meds, they wanted to wait for the cardiologist to review the xrays and ultrasound. That was last Thursday. By Sunday, my Yorkie was in severe distress. Everyone in my house was crying, because we figured we would have to put him down. We weren't ready to say goodbye to him, but we were in agony watching him suffer. So we figured we had to get him to an emergency vet, because our vet was closed on Sunday. Thank goodness Pet Emergency Center was open! They were so compassionate and kind, and they were also very quick! Dr. Kiser confirmed the heart condition after he took some free x-rays (since I had just gotten some x-rays from regular vet) and found issues my vet didn't catch! Gall stones and liver issues! In addition, Dr. Kiser got my baby on meds IMMEDIATELY. I took my Yorkie home, not knowing if the meds would work, and steeling myself for what I figured would be the imminent decision to have to put my Yorkie down after 14 years of heaven with my angel. I am sure anyone reading this knows the pain of being confronted with the responsibility of having to play God with the life of your beloved companion. The power of life and death decisions is not one I ever wanted. Just thinking of it makes me nauseous. Anyway, after being home for a few hours, and watching him continue to strain to try to breathe, I made the decision that we better go ahead and go back to the vet and put him down. I was getting changed, when a dear family friend dropped by to say goodbye to my Yorkie. While I was delayed talking with my friend and watching my baby, we started noticing a difference in his breathing and comfort. He started calming down...he started being able to rest. And by the evening, we had reason to hope for the best. Now here we are on Wednesday, and my beautiful angel is not only doing well, he is doing better than I have seen him in a long long time! I am thankful my friend came over when she did, but I am forever indebted to Dr. Kiser and the kind staff of Pet Emergency Center for SAVING MY BABY. I actually delivered my Yorkie (with the vet helping me on the phone) 14 years ago. He is my angel, and I have loved him endlessly his whole life. We were told to then wait in our car, couldn't be inside due to social distancing because of COVID-19 which I understand, and that it would be about 30 minutes before we could be seen. Our dog is like our baby and we did not feel comfortable waiting that long since she seemed as if she could not breathe. Called a different emergency pet hospital and was seen right away. I understand the hesitation of having people inside, but to completely dismiss our concerns and treat us and our dog as if "no big deal" when we went to an EMERGENCY hospital.
