After arriving and speaking with a staff member my granddaughter and I spent an hour falling in love with this little gal. Before leaving we were going to pay her adoption fee and ask a few more questions only to be told that the kitten wouldn't be a good fit and doesn't get along with other cats. Which clearly stated on her page that she was good with other cats! After listening to there reasons that she wouldn't be a good fit I told them that my granddaughter and I had already fallin in love with her and I was willing to give her a try and to work with her if needed to only be totally discouraged to even do that. I don't understand how when we first arrived we were not told this information immediately so we didn't spend an hr with her becoming totally attached and in love with her. They could of also called me prior to the visit but didn't! I specifically told the gal that I was looking for a playmate for the cat that I already have right when we arrived! The least they could of done was be willing to let us give her a try instead of discouraging us in every way possible! They said the choice was mine but every time I said I would still take her they went on and on about it just wasn't going to work! So clearly the choice wasn't mine! Check the reviews and pay attention to the dates! Almost every review is from the previous owners who are excellent. NOT THESE ONES Jason is scary and also seems like he would take his aggression out on the animals. My dog never liked him, nor did she like going to this establishment. At her previous daycare she would pull and whine with excitement until we went into the building. Here, her tail was tucked and I had to force her into the building. To no surprise now, my dog always seemed fearful of Jason. We had an incident here last week when I asked Jason if I could pick my dog up early as I had an unexpected half day off work. I got off at noon with only a few hours notice, and I asked when I dropped my dog off that morning if I could pick her up a little after noon, (since it takes about 15 minutes to get there from my work) but I would gladly pay the whole day since I booked the whole day. He said "sure fine" and pulled my dog into the back. I arrived at 12:25pm and the building was closed, lights off. Nobody answered any calls or emails. I was so confused. Perhaps Jason just forgot he said it was fine. I was concerned there was nobody on the grounds and I couldn't get a hold of anyone (I mean what if the building was on fire? Who would know?! What if I had an emergency and had to pick my dog up right away?!) but ultimately I just figured it was a miscommunication or he forgot. Once Jason did arrive, he was rude and aggressive. He said they closed at noon and there are "fees for this" and he tried to tell me I told him I would pick her up BEFORE noon. Which is impossible because I did not get off work until noon. I told him a fee would have been fine had he told me that this morning. At my old daycare they had fees for picking up outside of pickup times and I completely understand that and have paid them, but he never said anything about that. I put as much distance between us as I could, I stayed near the door. I have never been treated like this. I was scared. My phone was in the car and I had no way to protect myself. I went back to my car to grab my phone while he was billing me so I had a way to call if I needed help. He sat at the counter and I told him he needed to get my dog now. It seemed like he was being extremely slow to make me uncomfortable and wait, to show me he had control over me and my dog. Finally, with what usually takes 30 seconds to grab my dog, but took much longer, he comes out and hands me the leash and I asked him to cancel every booking (I was bringing her in daily and had some weekends booked) and he said "sounds good" in an uppity voice. Also, keep in mind, I am new to Hayward, like... only been here two weeks. I had just started to bring my dog here and this was going to be a long term arrangement. I booked out weeks in advance, and was bringing my dog in daily for daycare. I wasn't just a random once-in-a-blue-moon customer. But I only lasted a week before this happened. Aside from this very scary situation, the business is completely disorganized and understaffed. There are hours during the day where the dogs are completely alone, no way to contact the owners, and no way to get access to your dog. They get no exercise and are just in the kennel all day, everyday. It is nice to have your dog somewhere safe, and this place IS NOT IT.

None of them would see us immediately and one recommended a vet 100 miles away. Called Hayward Animal Hospital and they said bring the dog immediately. We took the dog, they did x rays,blood tests and determined the problem. Called us back and gave us options but recommended the least expensive option to try first. When we arrived to pick the dog up Dr. Ostrander talked with us at length with x-rays in hand. Very professional and personable. Would recommend him to anyone for regular veterinary service or emergency service. Great support staff also.

It was after hours so I brought Her to Webster Animal hospital and told them she was having severe mouth pain. The attending veterinarian examined her (including her mouth) and said, 1. that she could find nothing wrong and 2. As we were walking out of room that "she may have to be put down at some time in the future." She even put this in her notes. It was creepy, especially since she found nothing wrong. The next day I brought my cat to the Watson Veterinarian clinic where she was diagnosed with two "very rotten teeth" which were extracted. A few days later she was still in pain and, being after hours again, I took her back to the Webster Animal Hospital. A second Veterinarian examined her and found nothing wrong but got her weight wrong by four pounds somehow. My cat only weighs nine pounds. A couple days later I brought her in a third time to the Webster Hospital where a third Veterinarian examined her and found nothing wrong even though she was clearly in pain, so much so that she was shaking! I asked her several probing questions and she finally looked at me and said, "I have to be honest with you, I don't know much about cat's mouths." I'm not making this up. You can't make this stuff up. I will never forget her words to the day I die. I finally brought my cat to the CAT CLINIC on Hampton. They were OK, actually seemed to care and referred me to the University of Missouri Veterinary Health Center in Columbia MO where I traveled two hours the nenxt day to and stayed overnight. My cat, Octavia, was treated for osteomyelitis (Infection in her jawbone) and had three more teeth removed. She is home now and doing fine.

I brought my best friend Yeti in, my beloved German Shepherd, to be checked because of a few concerns that came up quickly, never in a million years expecting to find out he had cancer throughout his body and a very short time to live. Needless to say, I was devastated. From that first appointment to 4 days later when I had to say goodbye to him, the loving support and comfort the entire staff showed both me and Yeti truly made a difference to us and it's something I will NEVER forget. I am switching my other animals to Spooner Veterinary Hospital as well. I wouldn't even think about bringing them anywhere else, now. If you love your animals as deeply as I do, you will want to bring them here for care. They are absolutely WONDERFUL!

We called the vet nearest us in Danbury and they would not work us in to their schedule. We called Spooner and they told us to come and they would work us in. When we arrived we were greeted with friendly smiles. They put us in a room where our Golden could be examined by the vet and his assistant. They determined that they needed to take the whole nail put and said it would take about 45 minutes. It took exactly that. Everything went well and our Golden's urgent situation was resolved. We really appreciate the prompt and professional attention we received. We aren't a regular patient because we live in Illinois, but they reacted to our need for help and we are so grateful!!!
