Happy Tails Pet Boarding and Daycare

I am a veterinarian in Cumberland just a few miles away from Happy Tails. I have known Bonnie a…read morelong time as she worked with me at the veterinary clinic for several years. She left us to start this boarding facility as it had been her dream to have a pet boarding business. I want those reading this to know that she has loved dogs and cats forever. She taught me how to "baby talk" to dogs and cats at the vet clinic. She searched with me when my beloved Baxter went missing one winter and she cried with me when he was never found. My clients at the vet clinic knew Bonnie and loved Bonnie as much if not more than the veterinarians (me included :) ) My clients at the vet clinic take their dogs to Happy Tails with Bonnie and the owners come back with nothing but positive experiences. They love the one on one attention she gives to the dogs and cats that come to stay with her. Some of my clients tell me how Bonnie has a special room with a couch just for their couch-potato dog. I have tried to use Bonnnie's services in the past but I am a last minute planner and so she usually doesn't have anything available for me-totally my fault as I will contact her the day before I need to bring my dog in for a 3-4 day stay. But this last weekend she had room and boy was my England lucky. One thing to know about me is that even though I could leave my dog at the vet clinic that I have worked at for 10 years and love and trust, I don't because he would be in a kennel all day with minimal interaction. When I have left town with my family in the past I either bring our dog (and cats sometimes) with us or I have friends take him. So for me to take England to a kennel is a big deal. So this was my experience: I contacted Happy Tails about vacancy and talked to Bonnie right away. She emailed me forms which included one information sheet and two very simple/short pages to fill out. Due to timing and logistics, I ended up filling out the paperwork and taking photos of them along with my dogs vaccine records and texted the photos to her and she was happy with that. (I did bring in the hard copies when I picked my dog up). My husband took England in during break at work and he said the check in process was very quick and easy. After the 4 days I picked him up. This was after a busy weekend and the boarding building smelled great and looked clean. No dogs were barking. Yes, that's what I said-NO DOGS WERE BARKING. I don't know if that's normal but still impressive. And yes, I did walk through to see there were at least 10 dogs still boarding at that time. I think they get pretty tired out from playing all day. Bonnie had several stories to tell me about England's stay and his new best friends (Remi and Reba). She does a lot of doggy daycare so she is pretty good at figuring out which dogs will play well with each other. There are two outdoor play areas for the dogs to run around in along with several enrichment toys such as tunnels and slides. The dogs get potty breaks plus a long morning recess and afternoon recess when they play together outside. England is home now sleeping. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful and safe place to take my dog when I go out of town.

I wish I could find the words to fully express how wonderful Spooner Veterinary Hospital is. From…read morethe wonderful Julie (and others) who answer the phone and booked my appointments, the highly educated and skilled Veterinary Technicians to the Veterinarians themselves, you will never find a more compassionate, kind, supportive and caring staff. I brought my best friend Yeti in, my beloved German Shepherd, to be checked because of a few concerns that came up quickly, never in a million years expecting to find out he had cancer throughout his body and a very short time to live. Needless to say, I was devastated. From that first appointment to 4 days later when I had to say goodbye to him, the loving support and comfort the entire staff showed both me and Yeti truly made a difference to us and it's something I will NEVER forget. I am switching my other animals to Spooner Veterinary Hospital as well. I wouldn't even think about bringing them anywhere else, now. If you love your animals as deeply as I do, you will want to bring them here for care. They are absolutely WONDERFUL!

We called the vet nearest us in Danbury and they would not work us in to their schedule. We called Spooner and they told us to come and they would work us in. When we arrived we were greeted with friendly smiles. They put us in a room where our Golden could be examined by the vet and his assistant. They determined that they needed to take the whole nail put and said it would take about 45 minutes. It took exactly that. Everything went well and our Golden's urgent situation was resolved. We really appreciate the prompt and professional attention we received. We aren't a regular patient because we live in Illinois, but they reacted to our need for help and we are so grateful!!!

ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND 125%. We've legitimately have only used her twice, and already seems like one…read moreof the family friends with a future ahead of that. Crazy to think that ending up with 2 rescue style dogs, within months of eachother that were more so in the "timid" category. One we have had one since last November that just went for her first time about a 2 weeks ago, then came home, saved another and decided he was breaking out of his shell and after just the first experience, we figured "let's see what Jess can do!!" Sure enough, the dogs once again loved every bit of it, the contact each time was on point, her attitude and hospitality while also giving you a hint of how she runs her business. Thats how it's done!! But also, the flexibility was perfect, easy to get ahold of and definitely knows what she's doing. Even on our trip we got to share with everyone all the pictures AND videos she was gladly enough to offer!! Our little girls kept saying right off the bat how much they missed there puppy the first time, but shortly after the pics and videos started coming in and had the whole rental car holding back tears of joy and definitely some laughter. Blows your mind sometimes that just from just a random call from word of mouth, BAM! Just like that, it might not be often, but the "shy, timid" doggos that once were, now have a second home whenever they visit just like that. And she sure is a whisperer, because that shell they were trying to break of is gone!! We're not quick to judge good or bad, but remember it's all in the real time confrontation. She nailed it! We caught on to the "Auntie Jess" as well and if I even mention it while referencing, doggos ears perk right up! Well from one big family again to yours.... THANKS AUNTIE JESS!! PS. Did I mention we highly recommend?!?!
