    Birthday treat for dogs
    Shelby S.

I love Pet House for all things pets! They have a large selection of pet supplies. I stopped in yesterday to get a birthday treat for my dog. They always have fresh treats for animals. Perfect spot to find something for a variety of animals. Plus, parking is super easy.

I love Pet House! In Santa Barbara, they are entirely unmatched. The staff is always upbeat and seems to enjoy what they do. Their animals are always healthy and well cared for. I initially was introduced to Pet House as "the place to go" for a fresh water aquarium set up and I was blown away. They have a great selection of fish, and have stuff that are very knowledgeable in the pairing of species and tips and tricks for your tank. Ps: They also have the cutest dog toys and treats!

This is a nice pet shop in Goleta. They sell live small animals such as finches, parakeets, cockatiels, fresh-water fish, rats, mice, guinea pigs, bunnies, hamsters, etc. Staff is friendly and greeted me shortly after I entered the store, offering assistance. I was looking for dog puzzle toys and did find some, though not a huge variety. They did have a nice assortment of bird supplies for both pet and wild birds in your yard. I like to come here when I'm in the neighborhood to see what they have new and exciting. The store is clean and their dog cookies look so delicious!

In-store fish expert recommended Melafix. I saw results within 1 day

Shout out to the in-store fish experts. There are no fish doctors in town but Pet House has the next best thing. I wasn't sure what was going on with my cichlid but it looked like he had a giant pimple growing out of his head, plus white bubbles on his fins. It was not ich. I had no idea what it was, so I took pics and brought it in. I wasn't sure if it was due to bacteria, parasite, etc. so I asked for a recommendation for a broad spectrum anti-everything. The fish expert took the time to go thru all the options with me and answering all of my Qs. I opted for Melafix, which is like tea tree oil for fish. I chose it b/c neither of us really knew what was going on with the fish and it was natural antibiotic. I tried it and I saw results within a day. White bubbles gone after day 1, pimple healing by day 4. Today is day 8 and he is pretty much back to normal. I appreciate that the ppl at Pet House are not just paid employees but that they actually know their stuff and they stop to take the time to listen to you and help you. Our pets are our children and they treat them like such. The staff are all very knowledgeable and patient and easy to talk to.

Titan in his cage at Pet House before we bought him. 2-3 months old. You can't tell from this picture how huge he is.

I love Pet House. Their items are overpriced compared to chain pet stores, but I'll willingly give them my money for the care they provide their animals. I was lonely in college at UCSB and decided I needed a little companion, and since we can't have cats or dogs, I decided on a hamster. I think this place has the best rodent breeder in the world. My little Chewie has the coolest personality, he has never bitten anyone, and doesn't chew on his cage. The workers are completely knowledgeable about their pets and take good care of them while they are in the shop. I've noticed they sell out of their rodents quite quickly. You won't see the same ones in there two weeks in a row. Not only do they have hamsters, rats, and mice, but they also carry rabbits occasionally and guinea pigs. A friend of mine got his guineas there and he adores them. Now, one day when I was in there with my boyfriend, we were looking at the hamsters (I'm a little hamster obsessed now) and we saw the biggest hamster I have ever seen in my life. Now since I recently moved away, I knew my boyfriend was missing Chewie... so I convinced him to get the gigantic hamster and he named him Titan. Needless to say, he is a badass and just as nice as Chewie. Titan though, is a master escape artist and we can't seem to train him to not chew on his cage like I did with Chewie. You can see videos of both Chewie and Titan on my youtube channel, http://www.youtube.com/woodlandfairy They also get props for not selling puppy mill dogs and for supporting local cat rescues. I love to just walk into this shop when I'm in the area to look at all the adorable animals.

I highly recommend Goleta Pet House. They are very knowledgeable. I love talking to Erin for all my fish needs. She's helped me out with all of our aquarium problems (from starting a tank to dealing with pesky pond snails). She even helped me figure out why my male guppies were acting weird (turns out they were female bettas that Petco sold me mislabled). I can always rely on the pet house for advice. From dogs to fish to hamsters. I also love being able to support a local, small business. Goleta Pet House is better than any other chain pet store. Shop here first!

This is literally the place you need to go. My son has been begging us for a snake for years, and as he is pretty young, we didn't want to just dive in with it. He's in sixth grade now, and his little sister's in third grade. We figured they're probably old enough now to be able to take care of a reptile. I had seen this place advertised previously and we happen to be down in Ventura so we went and checked it out. We talked with who I would imagine is the owner, an extremely knowledgeable person who also happens to be friendly and helpful. He gave us what I would call almost too much information as we are brand new two the whole reptile thing, there's so much to learn and there's so much knowledge he wanted to impart on us The kids are interested in a baby snake of some kind, and we were lucky enough that they had a fair amount of young snakes in the shop of all kinds of different exotic varieties. We ended up taking a small python home in our kids are over the moon with it. It's a beautiful creature and they had a lot of of the items that we needed in stock there to be able to set up our terrarium correctly. I would highly recommend the shop, as everybody we spoke to there was very kind, professional, and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back

(obviously racist) Today I stepped in with my mom looking for some supplies for my fishes.. We were wandering by the fishes area looking to find what we needed, we saw a white girl worker there but she didn't even hesitate to ask if we need something. I was talking in Spanish to my mom because she doesn't speak English, and I mean, that's wouldn't be an impediment to have helped us if I already asked her some questions before. At the moment we were on line to pay, she was attending a white guy, but at that time we paid, other person attended us. The second time we came back to get 3 fishes she was the one who attend us to get them. Once I had chosen my fishes she only took the bag with the fishes and headed straight to the counter without saying any word like "do you need anything else?, or can you follow me to the counter." My mom and I were confused, when we headed the counter she was the one who attended us at the counter this time. And the thing is... you know what was the difference between the white guy who she attended first and us? She was completely indifferent to us, she did not even said a single word to us except for asking me my phone number and that's it. Instead, she was using her phone and giving us her back, and nothing like "it will be with cash or card?" Unlike, with the white guy she had greeted to and was so nice to him. When we left I didn't say anything but mom noticed it and told me that I shouldn't come back to buy at this store again. This country is already messed up to Latin people lives with the government that their citizens chose, (not everyone) and you go out and make others feel worthless. Yikes petco, I know you care about the pets welfare, but remember that your customers are the ones who look for them. Watch out for the workers you hire.
