    Sleepy kitty

This place was really fun! The cats and kittens all had different personalities whether you wanna chill with the sleepy ones or endlessly play with energetic kittens. The place had a/c and was kept very neat.

Just one of the highly qualified therapists waiting to assist you.

We booked a private one hour therapy session with the cats. Booking the reservation was easily done online and well priced given the feline therapist to person ratio. We arrived at opening and their friendly staff got us right in to meet with the purrfessionals (just came up with that). The cats were cool, mellow, and doing their thing, and I was stoked just to be hanging out with them. They have toys to play with the cats or you can just hang out with them... feel their vibes and relax. I had a great time and felt my blood pressure dropping every minute I was there. Thank you Cat Therapy for meeting us share some time with the cats and for getting them adopted!

Inside the cat lounge area. Over 20 cats to hang with.

This is like a cat cafe without the cafe. You pay a certain amount based on how much time you want to spend with the felines. There were over 20 cats in this very smallish, intimate, cozy space during our visit so you won't be searching for cats to pet or play with. They have younger cats, and older cats, and sleepy cats, and crazy energetic ones. There will most certainly be at least one cat available to suit your preference. I am a big believe in the healing power of cats so cat "therapy" aligns with my philosophy. To be clear, cats help heal humans and we help heal cats. I believe all of the cats here are available for adoption so, if you can, please save one or more of these precious felines.

You don't really need to reserve here! Yelp checkin gives 20% off admission which is pretty huge. One hour for two people was $48 (60-12) using the yelp checkin. Was it worth it? Well if you like cats it could be. The admission fee is pretty high but it goes to a good cause, to help shelter these cats and get them adopted. Some cats are very playful and others are very scared/ sleepy. We came from 4-5 pm and cats started sleeping at around 4:45 so I don't recommend coming any later than 4 if you actually want to play with the cats. I felt one hour was pretty long, I was pretty tapped out after 30. Definitely a cool experience especially if you're a cat person.

I love Cat Therapy's mission and activities which is what brought me in. However, the business should be more mindful of the cats energy and not sell walk-in tickets when none of the cats are awake...Would only recommend going in the first 2-3 hours of opening. Right away when we came in, the lady helping us had no idea what to do. We mentioned we're a walk in and asked how it works and she said you can come for 15 mins or 1 hour, when their website literally says 30 mins ($20)/1 hour slots($25)? We compared it to the website but she just said $15 for 15 minutes is all she can do. We saw her manually type in the price which made it even more fishy. After driving all the way to SB, we decided to give it a try given all the good reviews. Sadly, the cats were all asleep by 4pm! While letting me into the pen, she literally said haha looks like all the cats are asleep have fun. The website promises around 15-20 cats but there were only 10 cats inside with only 1 cat awake. A good variety of cats if I could have seen any of them to begin with! I completely understand that working with pets is like this, but don't accept money for an experience you won't deliver on. It would be nice if it was more mindful of customers' time and the cats' health (aka don't close at 7pm).

So fun and amazing clean environment. The cats were so sweet. We stayed for 1 hour. Really simple process to spend time with the cats.

We made a reservation here after walking past their sign on the main street while on vacation in Santa Barbara. Always down to hang out with some kitties! We booked an hour and were the only ones in there for the most part. We were in during the afternoon which seemed to be nap time for everybody, the cats didn't seem interested in playing much, but that was fine. We were more than happy to just sit with them and pet them for a while. It was very relaxing and I love supporting cat rescue and adoptions!

If you are on vacation and missing your cat, look no further than Cat Therapy! However, you may be enticed to leave with a newly found fur baby. We decided to do the last call session based on the recommendation of an employee. She said it's a little slower then and the cats are more active. This session is only 30 minutes instead of an hour. We thought an hour might be too long. Boy were we wrong! The 30 minutes flew by! We were the only ones there so we had the kitties all to ourselves. We asked a lot of questions that were answered by the staff and almost considered taking one of them home. We had a great time playing and getting to know each of the cats. Some were ready to run around and play, while others were winding down for the evening. This is such a great idea and a great way to spend some downtime after all that walking around. If they add a café, it'll be even better!

I have visited twice in my years going down to Santa Barbara to see family . Last time I went during the Old Spanish Days festival, it was pretty busy. Which is a good thing! I want the cats there to be supported (even if they try to eat the entire churu)! I proposed to my girlfriend during our hour session and the seven cats surrounding her made it very memorable. A worthwhile experience for a first time visit or someone who enjoys just the company of cats.!

The cats were amazing , I loved the decorations, the different type of cats and of course the affection you get while playing with the cats with the toys found on a shelf! Something you have to keep in mind is when you go at 12:00 or 1:00 they are pretty zonked of all the people playing and petting them! Imagine!! Over an amazing place to spend with your cat family lovers!!

Comfy areas to sit and play with the cats all around the room

We absolutely loved our visit here! My girlfriend has always wanted to go to a cat cafe, so I found this spot to take her to. We called ahead of time and made a reservation to visit after we finished having some coffee down the street. We had an hour to sit and play with the cats. A lot of them were taking naps, but we still got the chance to interact with plenty of cats, all ages and sizes! I have a cat allergy and thankfully it didn't act up. I attribute that to the staff keeping the room and the cats clean, which I really appreciate! Thank you for a great experience!

I arrived about 40 mins before closing, and the lady was kind enough to let me spend half an hour with the fur babies, and there were many great cats. This was definitely worth the money, as she gave me a little cat treat to feed the kitties, and there were tons of cat toys for playing with kittens. There were a huge variety in the cats, from kittens to seniors, fluffy to shorthair, and calm to stimulated! There were some cat toys in the gift shop, as well as jewelry and stickers. Overall just a wonderful place with a wonderful cause!!

I'd like to bring my kids; thought there was a minimum age but now I can't find it. Are kids allowed?

Kids over 7 but below 12 are allowed in with a parent/guardian for regular visits. Children under 7 require a private reservation with parent/guardian.

I also knew a lot of people had bad experiences there. Last visit I went by on bike. I couldn't find a bike rack anywhere near the store. I asked the owner if I could bring it inside. She immediately shouted no and launched into a speech about all her stuff in her store. She told me I could leave my bike propped against a tree out front. This is terrible advice. Anyone in Santa Barbara knows you leave a bike- ANY bike, much less an expensive bike leaning aguante something, that bike is no longer yours. Totally fine if she doesn't want the bike in her spacious store. She could suggest the closest bike RACK so the bike could be locked. Lots of people bike in SB so I'm sure I wasn't the only one needing a little direction to park and shop. Her rude attitude and irresponsible advice- plus ridiculous prices, no thanks!! Will never come back here. Tons of super rad boho stores like Dylan Star and Sirena with nice staff to spend at instead.

I knew Brandy Melville for having good basics and was in search of a black bralette / bandeau, which I did not find exactly what I was looking for, however, I did find a few cute basic tanks and a pair of shorts with Santa Barbara screen printed on. Since I didn't need to try anything on -- most items should be O/S, I will comment that there was a long line for the fitting rooms. There was also WAY TOO MANY people who did not really need to be inside (like guys just standing around with their girl friends, etc. taking up space for other shoppers - just my opinion though). You can do a few short laps around different sections of the store, viewing tables and walls of which you were not able to see when you were standing around those spaces to begin with. The cash register had what looked to be 2-3 girls taking anyone who made eye contact for checkout. I wouldn't say they were the most engaging nor friendly, but I wasn't there to have a good experience, I just wanted to grab my things and go - therefore, checkout was quick, unpersonable, and I suppose, expected due to the type of customer or experience they might usually have? Not sure -- like I said, it's been a minute since I've been to a location and usually in Walnut Creek or Los Angeles. Prices are still okay though which is why we go.
