I booked a two-week stay and arrived at 5:00 PM on a Friday, the night before an early flight. During intake I mentioned that my dog had a small skin-level growth removed by her vet the week before. The site manager then pinned my dog down repeatedly to search for a stitch, found a single concealed suture under her chin -- one I hadn't even noticed myself -- and refused to board her. Her words: "Sorry, we can't take your dog. Corporate rules, and I could lose my job." That rule appears nowhere on their website and was never mentioned when I booked. Their published health requirements list vaccines and state that pets with medical conditions are welcomed case by case, with a vet waiver if needed. I was offered no waiver, no individual room, no manager, no options at all -- just take your business elsewhere, at 5:00 PM on a Friday. Golden Paws was already closing when I called. They heard what happened, took her anyway, and gave me a full tour. Night and day. Best Friends is cheaper. It isn't worth it. Tour your local options first -- and ask them point blank what conditions will get your dog turned away at drop-off.

The woman even told us that when she was there the last day that as soon as she cleaned the litter box, the little guy ran in and used it. Good customer service would have been to clean that usage as well... not the case at all. There was so much clumped up liquid waste at the bottom of the litter box, my wife filled a 1 gallon Ziploc bag with the clumps. When confronted about it, the woman said "well they definitely used it after she had cleaned it"... NOT that much. We were home 2 hours after her last cleaning. My wife knows when these cats go and how much... we saw days' worth of waste left. The first time we used this service, there were photos every day via text message. This time we got a video the first day and a text message the last day. I am guessing that is the only visits our poor cats received in four days. She returned our key but did not have the decency to return the check for services NOT rendered. Steer clear of All Paws.
