I boarded my cat, Coconut, here for a 10 days. Normally, I would leave him at home and have someone come visit him. Unfortunately, two days before my trip he came down with a UTI and was treated, but I didn't want to leave him home alone in case of an accident. For those with a cat, you can understand the mess and stench created by cat urine! I didn't know if finding a place last minute would be easy. Best Friends was able to take Coconut and their rates at $19 / day for cat boarding were slightly cheaper than another local pet boarder. Since this was his first stay they gave us 1 day free. I felt awful boarding him. He's 2 1/2 years old and had never been boarded before. There were no other cats being boarded during his time there. There were plenty of big loud dogs in cages in an area preceding the cat boarding area. Coconut had an entire cage with his food and water. They came and played with him for 15 minutes every day. They also sent me a photo of him once during that week, which was a nice touch. The staff was friendly and liked animals. read more

This establishment is poorly managed. Don't entrust your pet to this establishment! They are UNPROFESSIONAL and IRRESPONSIBLE. As of 11/14/21, its been OVER 1 MONTH (10/3/21) since I picked up my HEALTHY 15-year-old silky terrier for a 1-night stay only to find a DEEP GASH on his muzzle when I got home. After several calls, emails including photos, and a vet bill, I have not received reimbursement for vet fees to the emergency room and compensation! They blew me off and said they were conducting an investigation. They are still investigating, while my dog SUFFERED ANXIETY AND WOUNDS TO HIS FACE due to the NEGLIGENCE of their staff. When I bought Frankie home and noticed the wound, his skin and hair were completely gone, only the white meat was visible and dried blood on other areas of his muzzle. It was clear that the INJURY resulted due to UN-SUPERVISED PLAY-TIME WITH OTHER DOGS!!! I hadn't noticed this when I picked him up nor did the assistant bring this to my attention. The impression of the wounds was in the shape of a bite, upper and lower incisions. Due to Covid, I had not toured when initially boarding him last year. When I finally toured before picking up Frankie that evening on 10/3, I found the boarding area less than SUITABLE, INHABITABLE very DISAPPOINTING. Not suitable for a house dog, more suitable for a dog that stays in the backyard. The suite area was SMELLY, OLD DOG FOOD LEFT IN BOWLS, DAMP SUITES, DEBRIS ON THE FLOOR, REEKING OF URINE, DINGY BEDDING, AND DIRTY KITCHEN. The front reception area is pretty, neat and clean, the staff is friendly and cheerful. The back of the house is a different story. There are so many other REPUTABLE pet hotels closeby, entrust your pet with a RESPONSIBLE, ACCOUNTABLE and PROFESSIONAL establishment. By the way - Best Friends, I am still waiting to be reimbursed for the Vet bill I emailed a month ago. This has been a traumatic experience for my pet. I would appreciate someone contacting me. Always have had a good experience at Best Friends in Windsor. And yes it is nice that they are making renovations to this location. They have excellent groomers there who always do exactly as I ask and our Great Pyrenees looks fabulous after his grooming. They are a little bit cheaper in price than these other fancy new boarding places that are popping up in the area and the services that Best Friends offer are equal to if not better to these newer places. They also have the videocam in the play area which I view often when my dog is boarding there. read more

This place is AWESOME! We boarded our cat Teddy for a long weekend and were very pleased with the care and attention given him. Everyday we got a picture of him and my wife would call daily to get a status. The staff were friendly, caring, attentive, informative and most of all professional. As a matter of fact, Teddy enjoyed his first stay at the pet hotel that when we brought him home he didn't want to get out of his carrier. We are definitely using their pet hotel services in the future and will recommend Best Friends to all the pet parents we know. LOVE this place and so does Teddy! read more

My doggie loves it here for doggy day care. Whether you buy full day or half day, they only play from 10 to 3, which I didnt realize when I bought the full day package. My dog Olly has been going to day camp at East Windsor Best Friends for more than six months and she has a blast here; lately she's been going 5 days a week. The new manager, Kim and an excellent and caring staff take wonderful care of her; I can tell she likes it because she gets super excited the minute we pull into the driveway. Staff goes above and beyond to take care of the dogs and their pet parents. So happy to see the corporate HQ realizes the value of this facility and staff and is putting some funds into "rehabbing" and updating the physical location which is small but well organized. Definitely the best of the boarding and day care facilities (and some of them APPEAR to be quite post.... and unnecessarily expensive) we have in the immediate (Robbinsville/Hamilton) area. I have used Best Friends for 14 years. My dog has been boarded there several times a year for his entire life. Now that he is 14 1/2 it is difficult to leave him, but I'm always comforted by the excellent care he receives at this facility. They are always friendly, professional and caring. They go out of their way to reassure me that he is fine in my absence, that he's not stressed, and that he doesn't even miss me. I know they take fine care of him and give him lots of attention. I was told that my dog was given a bath because the bath was the same price as a nail trim which I requested. When I got home the dog bed I provided was soaked in urine so my guess is that my puppy was also wet with urine so they bathed him. My pet never received nail clipping. Very disappointed read more

We boarded our two dogs for four days at best friends. I was thrilled with the service. The staff genuinely loves pets and they answer all of your questions thoroughly. You receive daily photos of your pets and you can see how the dogs are doing through a live stream. Our dogs were happy when we picked them up. After years of using a kennel which was closed on Sunday and only had limited pickup and drop off hours we needed a change. Best Friends is open 7 days a week and has great hours. I love that I can reserve online and that my account lets me know when my dog is due for vaccinations. Plus they email you a picture of your dog during their stay. The lose a few stars because the runs are smaller than our previous kennel and after grooming our dog was placed back in his run instead of being kept in the cleaner grooming area. However, we will definitely be using Best Friends Pet Care in the future. read more

This place is the greatest! My Pets LOVE it there! The staff is so friendly and accomodating. I have my dogs groomed there regularly and always love how they look when I pick them up. The groom staff is attentive and patient, always willing to spend a little extra time making sure my dogs look perfect! Boarding is terrific, they have big play yards and lots of space in the pet runs. The place always looks and smells clean. You can tell alot of hard work goes in to what they do. 2 of my dogs go to camp here a couple of times a week, and they come home tired and happy. This is the third Best Friends pet care we have used, and this one lives up to the others we have used. We chose the location by which direction we are heading in (flying out of Newark). Boo-boo (our big black dog) came out clean and soft and happy to see me. The staff did make a note of his behavior (he is shy around men) but did not seem stressed from being boarded for a week. I discovered Best Friends by accident, because my pup wasn't neutered and they were the only place in the area that would board him for the day while my house was being renovated. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise. He loved going and was wiped out when I picked him up. The staff is over the top friendly and seemed happy to be working there. Most important, my dog loved them. The only downfall was that it was the opposite direction for me to go to work. Sooo, when he eventually got neutered, I thought now I can take him to a closer facility. NOPE.....he wouldn't have it. The other facilities made me pick him up because he "wasn't adjusting"....when actually he wanted to go back to Best Friends!! My Dog has spoken - even though it's 20 minutes out of my way, I know that my dog is being cared for and given the attention he deserves. They recently spruced up the place and it looks fabulous. I can't say enough about it.....I have piece of mind when he's there and if I wanna peek I can log onto the doggy-cam site and see him. I've been boarding my dog here since she was a puppy. She is 12 now. Let me preface this review by saying that I don't think my dog gets poor treatment at this facility but I will say I have been treated horribly. They must be under new management because the interaction between management and the customer has changed dramatically. Suffice it to say, new requirements for boarding were implemented. That information wasn't shared with me and I boarded my dog in the spring never being asked for the updates. I called to confirm my August reservation and was told I needed this. Mind you, had I not called, at drop off my dog would not have been boarded. So my vacation would have to be cancelled or at best altered. The manager, Stephanie, was so rude she told me to take my business elsewhere. After 12 years as a customer that was the best I got. I eventually spoke to the district manager who apologised on Stephanie's behalf but that doesn't say much about the way anyone will be treated. She obviously can't handle herself in any professional capacity so how will she take care of an animal? Customer loyalty means absolutely nothing here. The reality is there are so many amazing places to board a dog that people don't have to settle for this inferior treatment. Remember Best Friends, if a customer is unhappy, they take it to the internet so they can reach many people about your declining facility. read more

She is a one-person dog, but has gotten along great at Best Friends Windsor and actually accepts going there. When my spouse died and was buried over Labor Day weekend, they made room for her even though they were booked solid and gave special attention to a very confused and stressed dog. We have been bringing our cocker Shady here for years, love this place. Clean and always on time. Our dog can be a bit temperamental, but he has no anxiety at all when coming here. It's pretty obvious if the animal had a good experience or not, by their reaction when they return. And Shady is happy,,,so we are happy. read more

I had a very poor experience from the very start with Best Friends. Before even leaving my dog, the staff lost our paperwork three times. After making sure to let them know that our dog had not been boarded before and might be hesitant to eat, I let them know that they should leave her food out all day and give wet food to entice if she wasn't eating. I called during my trip and was told a very generic "everything is good, she is happy" statement, but when I picked her up I was given back exactly the same amount of food that I left her with...we were gone for 4 nights! Worst of all, the staff was totally clueless about what actually happened, I was told at checkout that she was not given any wet food and that her food was not left out all day for her. To top it off I was given a "report card" (which again was full of generic statements that I'm sure are used for all pets) and it had the wrong owner name on it, and this was not a small typo, this was a completely different last name. Unfortunately, since it seems that the basics were neglected I have very little faith that she received her 3 playtimes. My dog is a very important family member and I would caution anyone before leaving your pet here. read more
