We have had truly terrible things happen with other house/pet sitters, so we are hypersensitive on this issue. Amber is one of two housesitters I feel 100% confident about leaving with my critters, and that's saying something. She is organized, committed, responsible, friendly, flexible, communicative - and best of all, my dogs adore her. As much as I would love to keep her secret so she's always available for us (LOL!), knowing how we pet owners sweat these kinds of details, I can't in good conscience keep from sharing. Amber is absolutely awesome. We met her last weekend when we had a pet sitter bail on us at the last minute. She not only found a way to work us into her busy schedule, but she was amazing every step of the way. She stopped by our house to meet our two kitties and was more organized than I knew was possible...making sure she knew everything she needed to know...including detailed emergency plans and other "what if" scenarios. While we were gone, she not only took care of my kitties, but kept us up to date with text and pictures, and truly went above and beyond by coaxing my shy girl out and turning her into a trusted friend. We just returned from a 7-day trip and left our 4 large dogs in the capable and loving hands of Amber. We had used her before just to exercise the dogs midday and our crazy pack loved her, but this was her first overnight stay. We could not be more pleased with how well Amber cared for our dogs and homestead! We received daily texts, with pictures included, illustrating their daily antics and that made us feel that we were close by. She scrubbed their swimming pools and kept them well exercised and very loved. She happily cleaned up a large amount of various bodily fluids due to someone's upset stomach on day 6 (better her than me-LOL). We had not left our dogs home in over 3 years, and now, with Amber, we have a new-found freedom - she is just FANTASTIC- we give her our highest recommendation! read more

Amber, at Pet, Plant and Home, is the absolute best doggone house, plant and pet sitter there is this side of the Sierras. She is very organized and punctual, knows plants, loves animals and has taken great care of our home when we' ve been away for over 2 years now. We have never had a problem with her in charge, and we've got loads of stuff that could go south. Chickens, cats, fruits, bats, vegetables, ornamentals, lots of small plants and large plants, and an antagonistic rooster. We were going to be gone for 3 weeks and were reluctant to leave our crotchety old Manx and new kitten alone, but had nobody to care for them. I researched Amber and went to Animal Save to ask for a recommendation, and unanimously they all said, "AMBER!!" So, we called Amber and she came for an interview. We were immediately impressed at how professional she was. She came with copies of her in-depth contract, copies of all her certifications (I didn't even know there was such a thing as dog and cat first aid certification) and a laser toy for our kitten, Murphy, which he loved. We spent about a hour or more discussing what we expected, eating habits, likes and dislikes, and letting her get to know Murphy and Bob. Bob, who doesn't like anyone, was drawn to Amber, and Murphy couldn't leave her alone. So, off we went on our cruise. Amber kept in touch constantly by email telling us how our babies were doing and sent pictures so we could see them. When we returned, the house was clean, the cats well fed and happy and that's what we wanted. I wish I could give Amber more than the 5 stars allowed -- she is a treasure. I actually think Bob & Murphy were disappointed when we walked in the door as opposed to Amber! I would recommend Amber without hesitation. She was absolutely fabulous and we already have her lined up for our next vacation. When it comes to pet-sitting in Grass Valley, I don't think you could do better than Amber.
