I have only been for dogs nail trims and each time I'm impressed at how quickly and gently they get it done. I have been going for 9 years now. Taking all my dogs. At one point we had 5 dogs. Now down to 3 seniors. One of my dogs has odd nails. The veins are hard to figure out. But they never cut the nails at the bleeding point and I can't do this at home. I keep going because they do it right when I am not able to. read more

What a great experience I had! I have been taking my dogs to the vet and paying over $60 every time to get my dogs nails clipped. It has been hurting my pocketbook. With everything getting more expensive every where, I had to find a new solution. I called and found out this establishment did walk in pet nail trimmings for $10 a pet! I brought my 3 pets, 2 dogs, 1 cat in for a nail trim immediately. I wish I had got the name of the awesome woman that clipped my babies nails. She was such a wonderful and talented groomer! My corgi growls at me when I try to touch his feet, and he was totally quite for her. I could not believe how great she was. Even when I went to the vet, the tech would tell me how difficult Louis was. For this Angelic groomer, he was great. So happy with this place! I'm telling everyone I know. read more

Having grown weary of personally grooming my gorgeous 4 year old golden doodle, I brought her to this joint on a bad referral . Biggest mistake of all time; they kept her for 6 hours on her 1st time there !!!!! razor burns inner thighs, not a curl on her body blown up like a cotton ball dunked in cologne. I don't even recognize her. She didn't eat for 2 days. Wouldn't let me console her, no eye contact. She slept under sofa and coffee table, never once has she not slept w me and her little best girlfriend. Heart breaking. I couldn't speak i was so devastated My only comment was I am stunned. I am totally stunned and left. Angry Kelli stole the show and ran w it - it got worse. She left me an angry message as I drove home about my being ungrateful but she didn't pick up 5 minutes later when I returned her call. I wanted reason w her for 1/2 my $100 back. 10 am next day I return to discuss this experience... Twice she chomped: "I'm working - come back at 4" which I did, Kelli-butcher-job stomped out side before I even got out of my car yelling something about pepper spray and spewed a few choice words and stomped back in the bldg. So far I hadn't had the chance for one civil word. She told me to come back at 4 so i did The place closed @ 4 I waited a minutes for her to come back out -and next thing I know 2 GVPD squad cars pulled up.!! You cant make this stuff up. We adopted our German Shepherd mix from Sammie's Friends shelter last July and at first attempted to take her to a self-wash. She was so scared, so we abandoned that idea. Kelli at Your Pets Grooming was highly recommended to us by three different people, so we made an appointment for our girl. I was immediately impressed when I walked in the door.....super clean place and Kelli was very welcoming. I related Daisy's story to her and she told me how dogs can often be frightened by the burst of water when it's first turned on. She assured me that she would be gentle with our Daisy. We have been back several times since and continue to be very pleased, both with how comfortable Daisy is there, how well she is groomed, and how competent, efficient, and friendly the staff is. I am so happy we found Kelli and her staff. We now make monthly appointments for our girl! read more

Some of the negative reviews are pretty entitled to be honest. Maybe they don't understand how valuable Your Pets has been and still is to hundreds of residents here. This grooming shop has been around for, what, 30 years now, before "grooming shops" even existed in the numbers they do now. Kelly offers incredible experience in grooming. She has done it her entire life. We also want to thank her for taking us when we are in a hurry and leaving town and we forgot to have the dogs toenails done. Somehow, she fits us in every time and within minutes, even the dog that hates to have her feet touched, is done and done well. No bleeding. Nothing. This is a difficult dog for nail trimming and even vets have suggested putting her out for the trims. Kelly gets it done and has us work as a team to calm our dog TO get it done and well. Took our 3yo F-GS in without knowing what to expect - she is new in our home. There was another large GS in the office and they had everything under control. They took ours in and she followed their directions, did not cause a fuss and when done, came out just fine. We have used them for quite a while, and have the only issue in the past was when I was still in the room and and my Pom was in defense mode. Once I hid, all was well. These ladies know how to relate to the animals in their care. Four paws up! read more

Worst customer service. I feel awful that I trusted these people with my dog. My dog has been coughing all day like he had a tight collar on for too long. I was up all night listening to him cough. No cough prior. I don't recommend them and I'll never go back. The old groomer lady is awful and rude. read more

Melissa gouged my dog's stomach and penis with the razor. Owner told me NOT to go to the vet but I did anyway. Vet said it was worst case of razor-burn he'd ever seen and the proof was the teeth-marks left from the blade on my dog's belly. When I took the vet bill to Your Pet's, Melissa wanted to argue for 40 minutes that my baby had come in that way!! With a pre-existing condition!!! DON'T GO TO YOUR PETS GROOMING. My dog suffered for two week's with that penis injury and had to take prescription pain pills. read more

After losing the wonderful Bubbles and Bows, we needed a new groomer for The Dude. He was loved and had loved them, so we hoped for the same with Your Pets. Although I was not terribly impressed with them after our first visit, I took The Dude back. We had a 9:00 appointment and we showed a couple of minutes before. There were only two other dogs ahead of him in line and I asked when he would be done. "We'll call you," the groomer said. The Dude whined when I left. I should have listened. Now he only needed a bath, trim around the paws and nails clipped. At 3:00, we called to see what was taking so long. "He'll be ready at 4:00," she said. Seven hours? I got a call at 3:15 saying he was ready and I drove down. The bill was $60. After I took him out, I stopped by a bush for him. By how long he was there, it was obvious they had not taken him out in all that time. On the way home, he was panting heavily. When we got home, I filled his water dish and he lapped it dry! I filled it again and he drank over half! The poor guy was dying of thirst. For the almost seven hours he had been away from home, he'd had no water all that time on a hot day. In my book, that's cruelty. I promised The Dude, "Never again." And I meant it. read more

What a shame this place is. It truly broke my heart to leave my dog here - I feel guilty that I trusted these negligent groomers. From the moment I walked in the woman who finally walked over had the worst vibes and attitude. Being a compassionate empath I felt for her and brushed it off as she must have personal issues but then she was blatantly rude and had attitude with me for no reason. I simply was dropping my dog off excited to see the results later. I told her exactly what I wanted done. Just a hair trim. Over 6 hours later I come get my dog who was clearly traumatized and dehydrated. Had been tethered for 6+ hours under a fan in muggy conditions, and they had done some fancy "blowout" brushing and shampooing and never even trimmed her hair "because she was stressed out". (She was stressed out because of the poor service and horrible energy and unprofessionalism of the place.) To make matters worse, they harassed me over the phone, never apologized, and had no feelings of remorse or care. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. The owner bragged of being in business over 30 years & extracting dog's anal glands and taking advantage of people's naivety. Gross. Innocent pet owners who think they're getting good treatment for their dog but really just handing them over to inconsiderate selfish people who are just wanting to get paid, not actually loving animals. I'm disturbed by the whole thing, and will never take my pets to ANY groomer now because of this. Just wrong. Wear a shield to protect your heart if you go in there. I went to Your Pets for a few years but recently they have become very rude on the phone and seem to think they are doing me a huge favor in order to find an appointment available. The same treatment has happened to a few people I know; both family and friends, so now we will all be going to another grooming facility for our dog's care. I have heard River Dogs is wonderful and there is a new place called Best in Show that receives great reviews...not lacking in choices in the Nevada County area for sure! read more

If you have a very nervous or groomer-fearful dog, I can't recommend Jaime at Your Pets highly enough: she's kind, calm, obviously loves dogs, and does an excellent job. It's kindof a pain that they only take cash or checks, but all you have to do is plan ahead! I have taken my dog here, twice. They did a fair job- neither great, nor bad. The first time I went there, they informed me AFTER my dog had been groomed that they only take cash or check (who doesn't take a check card, these days?)- thankfully, I had enough on me, but wasn't happy that I'd already been to the bank that day & would have been better prepared had I known. Well, this last time I went in there, their self-grooming was full and they said there would be a wait. So I asked them what time they were open until, they told me 4 & I said that I would come back. (As a side note, I noticed a much larger sign on the counter saying they only accepted cash & checks.) Anyways, I went back in at 3:30 & was told that self-grooming was closed. When I told them what I had been told earlier, the gal said that that is when the whole place closes, but that self-grooming closes at 3. Seriously? Why would someone give me the 4 time when I had been inquiring about the self-grooming. Anyways, I think the whole thing bugged me so much because, well obviously there was 0 common sense going on in there, but the attitude of the worker was annoying- it definitely showed me that they do not value their customer's time or potential business. I will definitely not be returning. It does make me wonder, though, how they keep being voted "Nevada County's #1 groomer"- I now believe the whole thing is rigged because there is just no possible way. read more

My 10 year old cat had developed matts in his fur, never a problem before recently. He is terrified of anybody but my husband and me, and he knows how to defend himself. So I called around to vets and groomers. The vets recommended that he be anesthetized and shaved, but would need a complete physical exam first. Lowest price quoted was $375. So then I call a bunch of groomers. "We don't do cats." AND THEN I called YOUR PETS in Grass Valley, CA. WOW! Kelli was able to comb out his matts in about 10 minutes while I waited. My cat was putty in her expert hands. She learned her trade at age 16 at Lion Country Safari, so yeah, she is truly a cat whisperer. read more

my dog is an inside dog that had NEVER in 7 years had 1 flee.... Until I went here. They put her on a table that still had clippings and hair on it. and had baby puppies (so cute) in a little pool in the room connected. we left from there, and I noticed THAT day an itch. I searched through her fur and found a single flee. I called to tell them. Kind of expecting an apology or a discount on a flee bath or really any kind of acknowledgment. Instead they treated me like a lower class citizen. told me there's no way she could have picked up a flee from there! They were so rude to me. I picked through her hair and didn't find any more. BUT I went and got a flee kit just in case. Honestly I would have been happy with 5$ off a flee bath. But was treated with complete disrespect. I do not recommend this business.
