The clerks are friendly and remember you,they stock a nice selection of both food and treats for dogs (don't own any cats or other critters, but I'm sure they're equally well stocked. I recently started going to Pet Supplies Plus because I saw they were working with rescues. I didn't even know they existed in a little strip near Home Depot in Lafayette until the rescue place advertised it. And I have four pets! They were amazing and I loved working with Amy Veach (assistant team lead). I started sharing posts from the rescues that were using them even. However, as of recent (very recent) a new manager came in Ryan Scrimager and did away with that and booted the great help like Amy out! Come to find out he even destroyed a backdrop one of the rescues was using and kept there. I was VERY upset to here they allowed someone to come in and do away with what was making that location great. That was the reason I was coming in - knowing they were working with rescues. read more

While it is considered a bit of a drive for me, and there are multiple pet shops along the way, I didn't want to waste my time stopping at each one, most likely they didn't have what I needed anyway. I went yesterday (9/15/2020) to give my dog Harley a bath, unfortunately my coupon had expired but the person at the register was super helpful and still honored it. Not all of them are as helpful as he was. Wish I would have seen his name but I didn't. We waited 15 mins for someone to finish up with her 2 big dogs. My two kids and I walked around to let Harley pick out a new big dog bone! He went straight to these new ones I've not seen before. HE LOVED THEM!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM! This location appears pretty dirty and neglected. I visited for the first time and received no assistance at all, though I definitely could have used it! The cashier was really nice and gave me a discount because of my new puppy but I really wish the staff working the floor would step it up and help out customers or at least say hello and point us in the right direction. I shop at Pet Supplies Plus a lot, and their selection of foods and other supplies is excellent. For some things the prices can be a little high but overall they're good. I just bought a new collar for my puppy yesterday and the price was probably less than what I'd have paid at other chain pet stores. I visited the store to use the self service dog wash... so gross. Dirt all over the walls, hair everywhere, standing water, and everything was just a mess. There was no place to hang any of your stuff and it plan smell like dog crap. I have been to several here in town and thought he I will give them a try... nope never again. All the other places have been clean, a place to hang your stuff, no water on the floor. I went home took off all my clothes and washed my boyfriend's and my clothes. Double checked that out dog was super clean. Also before we got in there we walked around the store to wait to get in and there was dog urine on dog food bags that were sitting in the middle of the aisles, why they have food in the middle not on a pallet is beyond me. Employees just standing around talking, not working and just didn't act like they cared at all. Should have known when we pulled up it wasn't going to be great, it was dark outside and their sign wasn't even on! Just stay away! read more

12/15/2021 My groomer moved to this location and I could not be happier. Rosa is a delight and is kind and gentle with my dogs. She does a great job on my Havanese. Not only is she a great groomer but keeps them for only 2 -3 hours. Many groomers take your dog out of sight for hours on end calling you are the end of the day for pick up. I do not want them caged that long so this is a big plus for me. Here you can watch them get groomed, shop or go for a coffee. Give Rosa a try! read more

This is a smaller pet store, but it definitely packs a LOT of food and treat options for a variety of animals! I also love that Pet Supplies Plus works with local animal shelters. The shelters can bring groups of cats or dogs into different play rooms so they can socialize with each other and Pet Supplies Plus customers-I've heard that quite a few animals get adopted this way, which is fantastic! There is also a low-cost animal clinic run by a local vet once a week which makes it easier for people to stop by for checkups/shots/whatever! PSP also has photo shoots and competitions for Halloween/Christmas/Easter/ etc where pets can come and get their pictures taken. It's a fun day for the pets and an equally stressful and fun day for the pet parents! I took a half star off because the staff is often a little rude and unaccommodating, and a half star off due to the prices. The dog and cat food and litter prices are typically more expensive than the exact same food and litter at other stores in the area. Off the top of my head, my cat's food is 10-20 cents more expensive per can at Pet Supplies Plus, and the last dog food my dogs were on (Blue Buffalo Wilderness grain-free/Large Breed) was about 1-3 dollars more expensive at Pet Supplies Plus. However, the toy selection is good and the prices are more standardized and comparable to other pet stores. This is definitely a good place to check out just based on the fact that it has a HUGE selection of high quality pet foods and great toy selections for cats and dogs. There are also a few aisles of food/accessories/necessitates for less common pets, so give this place a shot if you can't find what you need elsewhere! It's slowly going downhill. The customer service and knowledgable staff is fading away and the self serve bath is almost equivalent to a hose in a sink at this point. When they first opened a few years ago it was A+ all around. The dog bath had different soaps and conditioners and water pressure was perfect and the staff was awesome. Not anymore.... Today I even noticed the soap wasn't pumping thru, water pressure was like that of a squirt gun and manager said yea it's all good. I said no you can see it's not. He said oh you're right, just pour it onto the dog.... Smh. Just hate seeing good business's just slowly break down. The cashier that I told about the problem on my way out gave me a free dog wash coupon. (why would I want that??) I just explained why that's not good. I purchased an offer from Deal Chicken for "50% off pet food, supplies & more!" at Pet Supplies Plus. I paid Deal Chicken $15 for two $15 vouchers ($15 for $30). The first time I went in to use the voucher, the dog food (a very common brand) I needed wasn't in stock so I left and bought it elsewhere. The next time I went in, I selected $15 worth of Pills Pockets for my dog's meds, but when I attempted to redeem the $15 voucher, the cashier was clueless about the promotion and told me I had to spend $30, twice as much money, which is not a 50% off deal, just 25%. Obviously the employees are poorly trained, and I cannot imagine selling such deals and not training the cashiers. When I attempted to explain the deal, what I paid Deal Chicken, and what I am supposed to receive in store, but she wouldn't listen. She insisted you had to spend $30 to redeem the $15 vouchers even though that's what I paid Deal Chicken. I gave up, left without purchasing the items, and contacted Deal Chicken for a refund, which I immediately got. Supposedly their motto is "great prices, no begging!" It's been over a year and I've still not been back in that store even though it's quite close to my house. read more

The staff at this store is wonderful! I shop in the cat section and the staff has always taken the time to answer my questions and point me in the right direction. If you're looking for grain free food, I recommend trying Redford, which is the chain's brand. My cat broke out in a skin rash which my get couldn't identify, but two weeks on the Redford food cleared it completely! read more

This pet store is the absolute worst in town. A few years ago things were so much better. Better staff, better product selection, better animal selection, and BETTER CARE FOR ANIMALS. These images show the grossest ferret enclosure I've ever seen. Where are the employees who are supposed to clean these multiple times a day? The pile on the other side (blurry) is about twice the size of the pile in focus. The bedding was pretty well soaked in urine as well. I am absolutely disappointed in what this store has become. Everytime i call i am always left on hold and call never actually picked back up. Hung up and called back again asking if the woman (i think her name was Melissa) could just give me 5 seconds because i just wanted to know when they were closing (this was new years day) and she proceeded to seem like i was wasting her time for not doing what she asked so i let myself be on hold for another 5 minutes before i hung up again. i now have canceled my membership with them and now get it for almost the same price on amazon! all other workers are nice but she ruined for me i would rather go to petsmart and pay 20$ for a 5$ bag read more

I use the bath area somewhat during the winter months because I don't want to get my bathroom full of fur. It is basically just a hose and tub that you're paying $8 for. They do have some nice features such as: Free nail clippings every 1st and 3rd week of the month (Toenail Tuesdays) and the local Wildcat Veterinary Clinic does a low cost vet clinic on specific days which is very convenient. I will say while the products are of high quality, they are also more expensive when compared to other pet stores in the area even though the products are the same. And the staff is often quite rude and unaccommodating, they don't really seem to care about you or your pet. read more

DO NOT get your pet washed here!!!! Just got a bath and grooming service for my Ragdoll cat. First time had my cat groomed here but I did not take him out from kennel to check him when I pick him up due to trust on the store. When I got home, I then figured out my cat is only hair dried for upper body- back legs, belly and butt are all wet. Not semi wet but wet as hair still tangled together. Also, he is still shedding like he hasn't been brushed much at all. My cat was there for 3 hours and they told me he was good with hair dryer when I picked him up. I don't know why he is left half wet and I really hope he didn't get cold in this snowing weather. Anyways, won't go there again. I would just rather wash my cat at home. read more

The groomer is extremely rude and doesn't know how to talk to customers. I dropped my dog off for her appointment at 12pm and was told I would get a call back when she was done. I checked in at 2:30 and she hadn't done anything but wash my dog and was rude about me checking in. She told me she'd call me when it was done. I never received a call and went in passed 5 pm wondering why she wasn't done and the lights were all off my dog was in a cage in a corner and the groomer had already went home. The manager told me the groomer said my phone was disconnected when she tried to call me. I would rather go to petsmart pay a little more but receive much better service! read more

Held out as long as I could, but I just had to update this review to relay the rest of the story. As soon as I posted my original review (and it became a public image problem for THEM), they suddenly cared about me. I was contacted the same day and offered suitable compensation in the way of heavy discounts on my order. I thought for once I was going to be taken care of and I could put this ordeal behind me. However, I was wrong again. On the day the frogs were slated to come in, I was called and informed that the supplier was out of that species at the time. As someone who worked for a private pet store for years, I could completely understand that. But I also know that this particular species is prolific in the pet trade and is never out of stock for long with good suppliers. They told me that I would be updated ASAP. Of course, that never happened. After another two and a half weeks of never hearing anything back, I called them to check in. The girl on the phone naturally had no idea what I was talking about and no one that was there with her knew anything either. She said she would have to have someone else call me back another day. Of course, I never got that call either. It's now been well over a month without hearing anything one way or the other, so I've clearly been forgotten about yet again. I've been dealing with these people for about three months now. If you can't provide even remotely satisfactory customer service, then you shouldn't be running a business. End of story. read more

Utterly disgusting and disappointing!! Was in a pinch before the holidays to get our goldendoodle clean and wish I never stepped foot in the joke of a bathing area. I wrote a review 5 months ago about how pathetic the bath area was and as you can see was told by management they were renovating and should be done a week or two after my initial visit. There were no renovations, same old crappy hand towels (glad I brought my own), and hair all over the place!! That area seriously had not been cleaned in weeks with combs, hand gloves, etc all over the place with hair from two weeks ago!! The shampoo and conditioner had to be the same from 5 months ago as it was disgusting!! I was made aware that the store owner owns a doodle and you should know that your store does not meet basic standards for a bathing area!! NEVER AGAIN, NEVER AGAIN!!
