I have patronized this Pet Vet for several years & was extremely satisfied with the doctors & staff. Extremely kind & courteous. I am displeased now with the continuance of "pandemic" protocols of not allowing clients inside the building after 2 YEARS. The windows are now covered as well - its beginning to look like an illicit business of some sort. The business & the building wouldn't be there without the clients but we aren't allowed inside? Dr. Monica Voci is the outstanding vet we have seen for over 10 years with several family dogs. She is extremely knowlegable, trustworthy and kind, as well as her great staff. There is no rushed appointments, as she is genuinely concerned and explains everything. Recently in an emergency, on the phone she advised us where we should go immediately closer to our home to get help. It is not about money. She truly cares! They literally do hundreds of spay and neuters per year, a service to our community at low cost. We respect Pet Vet greatly and appreciate their practical, honest and professional care for our dogs (and cats.). I asked for several recommendations before choosing a veterinarian for our rescued kitty as this is our first pet in Georgia. Local friends highly recommended Pet Vet and we were so happy to find this place. The prices were impressive, but the attitude of every staff member that I have encountered set them over the top. To this point, they have answered every one of my questions and done so with smiles. They are so kind. I have called to request an additional exam for our cat, and after hearing her symptoms, they suggested at-home remedies to try before subjecting her to an office visit (and me to an office visit fee) and it worked like a charm. As someone who worked for several years at a veterinary clinic in Virginia, I know exactly what I want when it comes to my vet. The owner of this clinic is not in the business for the money (or they'd be charging the prices that other local vets charge for basic spay and neuter). They truly love what they do and who they do it for. read more

It's low-cost with great service. My dog went in for a neuter & a rabies vaccine yesterday and they took really great care of him. The only thing that was odd to me is they give dogs human animal crackers as treats. I highly recommend them & will go back if/when needed! read more

My husband and I have been bringing our pets to Pet Vet for a couple years. First visit there and they saved our chihuahua's life. We have always had excellent service from the front end staff to the Techs to the Docs! The entire staff seems to love all our pets to death and remembers their names too! The disrespect from the vet was insane. I have two rescue dogs who have fealty with a lot of gramma from their previous owners. Trying to take them to a place that literally choked both of my dogs to the point I had to stop the vet tech was beyond disgusting it was offensive. My dogs bark when excited and even with a smile and waging tails the Veternarian told me my dogs were "Just crazy" and that when I addressed to her "There not crazy just excited to be surrounded by so many other animals in a pet store, they love people." she went ahead and just continued to state how loud they were being. Took a kitty that my son brought to us to this Vet. Yes you do have to make appt and no emergency walk ins, but they were WONDERFUL. Nibbler had a very large abscess on the side of his neck and face. They looked him over took a sample of the abscess and checked him out and lined him up for Neutering, shots and abscess removal. All for 85. I was like WOW. Very concerned about lack of professionalism and disorganization. Twice this month for two appointments I was given one set of prices and procedure descriptions over the phone only to be told at the scheduled appointment that my animal would need more or different services at a much higher cost than quoted. I was informed that this was a "lack of training" on the part of the office staff--?! The walls are way too think for them to take so long carrying on chatting about their personal lives. (Maybe they don't know we can hear everything?) Usually three ladies in the office either typing or on the phone consistently do not greet you when you enter. I felt invisible. Maybe a silent wave or verbal recognition of a clients presence or a quick "we will be just a minute" or "thank you for your patience" This was consistent for when I arrived or waited at the counter to check out being incredibly awkward. I've been recommending them for two years overlooking the lack of friendliness or outright rudeness of office staff, techs or vets since they were a low cost vaccine and spay/neuter clinic. Very sad to lose confidence in their competence. The face of the office is paramount to building trust for the client. Being great with animals is only half the task of running a clinic since actual people pay the bills. read more

I have used pet vet several times in the past for many of My animals And never had a problem until now. Last week I had my dog spayed and asked several times about services I was told were included with what I purchased. Later I found out they were not included and that the clinic was not going to make it right although I was promised it was included before purchasing. Then one of the employees called me a liar. When I had to go back to have my dog rechecked for an opening in her incision, the doctor said she would give me a cone to keep the dog from licking and that she would also need antibiotics and she was surprised I didn't already have a cone. When the other girl came out to give me the cone and medicine she said I was being charged for both although that was not what they said originally and after I was already screwed out of something else. I asked to speak to someone in charge and another person came out. She was rude. Called me a liar. Was condescending and overall did not care about customer service. I called the office to ask for owners information and was talked to rudely again when asking For the woman's name and then hung up on. So unprofessional and I will be reporting this experience. Beware of this misleading and unprofessional company. After reading more of the Bad reviews on this place it makes sense. The owner takes no responsibility and appears to promote unprofessional behavior. Never does the owner apologize and offer to address the issues with her staff. This company needs to be reported to the Better Business Bureau. Total greed and lack of care for the customer and patients. read more

I have been a loyal pet vet customer for 12 years and have sent everyone I know there way. I have a 8 and 4 year old boxer. My youngest boxer Zoey has had a lump on her leg for the past year and a half and now a new one on her stomach. The vet here said it was nothing to worry about. Today Zoey was not feeling well so my husband showed up as soon as they opened and we were turned away. I was initially very upset. My husband got Zoey into a different vet that was willing to help us (Crestview). Thank God because today we found out the lump that was nothing to worry about was diagnosed as cancer. Took my dog this place for a vaccine update given the wonderful below review. We will not be returning. Allow me to justify- the pre-vet assistants had to prick my dog 3x before drawing blood, inserting the needle directly in instead of an angle...my dog, having been to vets several times before with no problems, was frightened. I was frightened too, considering they did not seem knowledgeable on the appropriate techniques of blood withdraw. In addition to this, another vaccine was suggested in addition to the other booster set. When asked if the vaccine injected antibodies consistent with those which are present in the wildlife fecal matter and urine that she spoke of, she had no idea what I was talking about. I explained that, in the past, my dog suffered from fatigue following vaccine update, and is this a potential side effect to worry about. She said she would give him a small dose of benadryl to help. She brought in 1/4 of tablet and then added a $10 charge onto the bill. What really upset me though was following the appointment with the vet. Two weeks prior (when I initially scheduled his vet appt) I inquired about the grooming service. I thought it would be great to have the same location for groom and vet service, especially since we just moved to the area. The front desk assistant explained what services were completed. I asked about the charges for such service, and she said the groomer had to see the dog before giving me a definite price. I completely understood and mentioned that when I took my dog for his vet appt, it would be great to see the groomer briefly to figure out the cost. When finishing up with the vet appt, I mentioned this to the front desk woman, and she could not have been more rude and disrespectful. She said the groomer was busy with a dog. (Keep in mind, it would take 30 seconds to look over my dog, who has been regularly groomed every 4-6 weeks his entire 6 year life) I said I wouldn't mind waiting- she said the groomer would be busy for hours. Needless to say, if they could not spare a couple of minutes after I just gave them $200 for a check up/booster appt, I wouldn't want to even give them the benefit of my business again. This place was amazing for neutering my dog. My dog has anxiety and Jenny was extremely attentive to all of our special needs!!

I made the mistake of feeding two feral kittens so they wouldn't starve. In no time at all they had babies, and I realized I needed to get all of them spayed & neutered. Brought them to Pet Vet in Cumming, and all were successfully vetted. No more kittens for us. I am VERY pleased with them and recommend them to everyone. There were no complications, no problems, and I and the 5 cats were all treated very well. read more

I've relied on Pet Vet for care of my kittens and cats for years. They are the best.

I don't recommend them. I had my dogs on flea & tick drops (Frontline) and Heartgard before going here. They said I should put them on Advantage multi, and that it covers everything in one. It DOESN'T protect against TICKS, which is very important in Cumming, GA due to the high population of ticks, which may have Lyme disease and other transmittable debilitating diseases. They will not prescribe Heartgard, which I've never heard of a vet not writing a prescription for this. I will not be going back there. read more

I purchased a Kitten Care package when I brought my wife's cat in to be neutered. It was described to me to cover everything for initial care. As you may know you have to come back in 2 weeks for the second round of shots, which I did. When getting ready to leave I was informed that it would be another $55 dollars. When I ask about the extra charge and told the receptionist of the package I had purchased, I was told that its $55 every time I come in. I then inquired as to why I had paid more for the package deal and what I had received for the added expenditure. I was answered with silence. I really don't care about $55 bucks but I do not like being deceived. The prices here are pretty good and they seem to know what they are doing, however I will not return in the future. I seriously dislike being "suckered" , even when its for only a few bucks. So Over All review, reasonable prices, good with animals, seem to be good with neutering services, however be weary of add-on services or packages. I, however feel taken and have no plans to return with any of my other animals nor would I recommend them. Hope this helps with your decision Todd read more

I had never had an issue with this vet until they recommended I let them give my indoor cat a feline leukemia vaccine without telling me the huge risks involved. After my cat developed a large firm lump at the injection site I did some research.... I learned that this vaccine comes with a significant chance of developing cancerous tumors and that unless your cats lifestyle puts them at risk your vet should not administer this shot to your cat. I let them know of the lump my cat developed and they immediately wanted to remove it if it hadn't subsided within 2 weeks. They also told me that they would not perform a biopsy prior to removing the lump (which is wrong). A month went by and it finally went away. This office should really do a better job of informing their clients of such high risks. And not be so quick to advise surgery... Will not be going back here. read more

I took my puppy here to get his shots. He was on antibiotics for a stomach issue a few weeks ago so they turned me away. This was fine except I had an additional question for the veterinarian and they refused to even see the dog since he was "sick". So as I am clearly frustrated sitting in the doctor's office I can hear them outside blatantly making fun of my dogs name. SERIOUSLY? Very unprofessional. Take them to a real vet. I love my personal vet for illnesses and regular checkups, but for a spay or neuter, Pet Vet is where it's at! They do their job better because they specialize in spay and neuters. I wish I had known what a good job they do before I got my lab spayed at our regular vet. We spent close to $300 to get our lab spayed and the incision was huge and long, and they used external sutures (which she wound up being allergic to). It took forever for the scar to heal up properly and the marks from the inflamed sutures to fade... On the flip side, I told my sister about Pet Vet when she got her Am. Staff mix puppy because of the prices. They did an awesome job with her. The incision was 1/3 of the size, they used internal sutures or glue which healed up a lot better than the external sutures... AND it only cost $100 including the extra pain meds. This is the way to go! Seriously. I think their rating has suffered simply because its hard to make everyone happy, and the angry people are usually the only ones to write reviews :) read more

We have recently adopted a sweet puppy and are taking her to another local vet (which I love) but it was coming time to have her spayed and chipped and the expenses that we have were already incurred were a good chunk so upon recommendation by my step daughter and my current vet I decided to bring her to Pet Vet for the procedure....wish now that I hadn't!!! The procedure yes did go fine BUT lack of care and concern was not worth the price difference! They were rude to me and my 7 year old granddaughter (who loves our puppy like it is her own). They seemed like they were trying to find something wrong with her when I know for a fact she is very good in health!! The big tall girl behind the counter was very rude and seemed more concerned about what her and the other staffs conversation than wanting to answer my questions! I had to call and see how my puppy was doing, no one called me to give update. I felt liked my puppy was another number in their pocket. It has been 5 days since procedure and not one person has called to see how she is doing! So, needless to say Pet Vet will NOT get anymore of my business nor will I refer them!!! And in case they read this...my puppy is doing good and thank you for not wondering how she is!!! read more

I had another bad experience with Pet Vet that I am pretty uncomfortable with. When I brought my dog in as a new patient, there was a form asking who, other than myself, would I allow to bring my dog in for an appointment, etc. I wrote down my boyfriend's name. Yesterday, my boyfriend was taking our dog to get her nails clipped and needed her medical records in order to get her groomed. He called the Pet Vet and told them my name and my dog's name but never was asked his name. The girl who was on the phone, without hesitation agreed to send him her records and then asked if he wanted them sent to my address. She then told him my address over the phone. Again, my boyfriend has not yet disclosed his name on the phone. This could have been anyone calling and the fact that she just up and gave out my personal information is very unsettling to me. My boyfriend took her to a new vet this morning who we absolutely love. This vet actually examined my dog and made her feel comfortable. We are 100% not going to return to the Pet Vet. read more

I am an animal rescuer - anything from stray dogs to feral cats plus I have a dog and 5 cats of my own (all rescues). I have been going to Pet Vet since 1998 for all my spay/neutering and vaccinations. Whenever I have an issue that is beyond what they handle on a daily basis, they refer me out which I very much appreciate their caring enough to do that. I have been more than pleased with the staff, the facility and the Vets. I consider them all friends and ones I can rely on wholeheartedly for my animal care. I would not consider going anywhere else for my pets or any strays I find. I also work with several other shelters that rely heavily on the care this clinic provides. I am not really sure exactly how many animals they have spayed or neutered over the years but that has been the goal of Pet Vet and Dr. Tracy Land - the original owner.
