Lovely gem of a store on Main St. in Seal Beach. If their lush, flowing, blooming window display doesn't make you want to fall right into their gorgeous wonderland of flowers and succulents, well, maybe their whimsical rack of greeting cards might. The style is super one-of-a-kind. There are plenty of boutiques carrying the same kinds of flowers and arranging them in the same general formats, but the arrangements here look like something straight out of a Tim Burton movie mixed with an enchanted forest mixed with the hipster accents of a contemporary downtown loft. I have not bought flowers here YET but I plan on ordering a flower crown soon. Will update the review after that. In the meantime, I have found the cutest greeting cards, fit for all people in your life. The ladies here will wrap them up for you and tuck a tiny flower underneath the ribbon. I used them as my wedding florist in Palm Springs-- if you are in their area or areas they travel to, do not hesitate-- book them! It took me quite a while to decide on a florist, as I planned my wedding from across the country. I talked to 6 or so florists in the PS/LA area-- all of which told me my budget was unrealistic in one way or another-- basically by saying there was no way to "cut down" on their floral proposal, or by saying that there wouldn't be a way to pull it off with my budget without looking bare. Enter Petals and Pop-- no, they do not do full mood boards, mockups, sketches like most other florists do, however, they don't need it. They are a team you can fully trust after talking to them. First off, they gave me as much time as I needed to sign a contract. Second, they worked with me over months to get the proposal down to a reasonable budget that I felt comfortable paying. Never pushed me to add or keep something- they fully listened to what I wanted and suggested amazing things because of their expertise. I didn't know exactly how everything was going to look for the day-of and it was better that way. I was so excited to see everything and they did not disappoint. I could not have been happier with my experience with Theresa and her team. I only wish I lived closer so I could buy from them all the time!! We hired Petals and Pop for our wedding this past fall, and I am so, so, SO happy we did!! After meeting with Theresa to discuss my vision, it was clear that she instantly 'got it' and even had suggestions to take our wedding floral aesthetic to the next level. The fact that we got to chat everything through over delicious champagne (hello - it's also a champagne bar) made we wonder at times if I was living a dream... We wanted to get married under a rustic arch, and Theresa helped us brainstorm the design with her florals incorporated. And when we told her we wanted to keep the florals super minimal and natural on the farm tables, she suggested sprinkling loose flowers along the tables which ended up being perfect. The bridesmaid bouquets and boutonnieres were gorgeous, and my bouquet was beyond what I could have dreamed of. Theresa even found a white protea for me, because she knew I love them :) And on our wedding day, her team was prompt and professional when decorating the space (hi Jenna!). I always wander by Petals and Pop while walking on Main Street and admire all the beautiful flowers and cute/modern gifts inside. The ladies who work there have always been extremely sweet. For ages, I had wanted to get a small bouquet of flowers made up from Petals and Pop but never actually got around to it. But it was my birthday recently and my boyfriend took me to Seal Beach and got a bouquet made for me:)) Flowers: I LOVE the selection of flowers they they carry. They always have the most unique and beautiful flowers to add to arrangements. The lady helping us said she could throw together whatever I wanted; she was so accommodating:) I asked for a couple roses (she showed me two amazingly beautiful kinds of roses that they just got) and some filler flowers. Service: I could not have had a better experience here. The lady making my bouquet let me know the price ahead of time ($26) and arranged a beautiful bouquet and wrapped it so nicely:) They always have outstanding attention to detail here. The shop: I wish I would have taken a picture of the shop, but I was so excited to actually be getting flowers! Haha. It is lovely and cozy inside with gifts and knick knacks, and there are flowers in the window area and ribbons hanging beautifully as decor. *note: it might be hard to tell that Petals and Pop does small customizable orders/walk-ins. They mostly do floral for larger events I believe. But I highly recommend walking in and getting a small bouquet put together, they do amazing work. We'd seen that this shop carries the chocolates from San Francisco chocolatier Dandelion. One of the few chocolate makers that maintains a clean nut free process so that the Mrs. can enjoy. We'd been wandering Main Street and came on in to check what the availability might be. They had some and Theresa made some pairing recommendations to accompany the chocolates. We took some chocolate bars home. Paired them with some Champagne and various whiskies, Theresa was spot on and the taste profile worked really well with them. She wrapped them up enhancing the presentation of the chocolate bars that was photo worthy! We'd definitely be back. As well the Mrs. enjoyed the floral presentations as this was in that Valentines Day moment when buyers were coming in to pick up their orders. read more

Disappointing has been my experience with Petals and Pop. I had received a beautiful arrangement for my engagement that was delivered the same day as pick up and within 24 hours, much of the arrangement had begun to WILT AND DIE Obviously this wasn't an inexpensive arrangement and I was really distraught to see that an arrangement that had cost $80+ didn't even last a day so I reached out to the owners (Teresa and Jenna). Even though it took a few attempts, I was finally able to connect both on the phone and through email. At first they seemed understanding and accommodating and gave me the option to either come down to replace it or have a store credit sent to my house. Since I live an hour+ away, i oped for the credit. While they had PROMISED to send store credit in lieu of replacement flowers, weeks went by with NOTHING in the mail. When I had followed up NUMEROUS times, their was either a response that they were going to get it in the mail or NO RESPONSE AT ALL.... it has now been 2 months since our initial contact and I am still awaiting a replacement arrangement.... Needless to say, I have been EXTREMELY dissatisfied with the level of care this small shop has given to their customer base. For charging so much for their flowers, both the quality of flowers and the overall customer service has been disappointing and for the headache that I went through with this business, I would not recommend their services to anyone. read more

Oh just wow... Where do I begin? Is there a way for me to give them zero stars? It is hard not to admit their work is beautiful... Unfortunately their customer service and their professionalism was completely the opposite. Here is the full story for anyone that is looking into hiring them for their wedding. I booked my initial consultation with them, unfortunately I got into a car accident and was unable to make the appointment. Things were so chaotic that I didn't even have the chance to call them. I emailed them the day after, and let them know what happened and asked to reschedule. They got back to me 11 days after... We rescheduled... I accidentally showed up a week early... (My mistake again) they were pretty busy at the time, couldn't take me... Which was fine... I asked if Jenna could just email me a quote. So I can know if it's even worth driving back down for... Her words were "I'm so sorry but we can't really send you a quote via email unless we have a meeting. Each meeting is catered specifically for each bride and we close up the shop and pop champagne and make the meeting very special for each bride. We then discuss each bloom and we can start figuring out the quote from there" I was sort of bummed I wasted a drive there... But it was my mistake and was totally fine. Oddly - the day of our final scheduled meeting Jenna sends me a quote that she said she could not do over email. And to my surprise this quote was almost twice what other florist have quoted me. I let her know that much higher than what others have quoted me and that I wanted to spend a specific amount. I also clearly stated that it would not be worth it for me to drive down there again if the quote will stay the same. When I told her this, she sent me a new quote with a quote that matched my budget. So I said I'd meet her since we had already planned this meeting. I show up... The store was open, there was nothing prepared for me... She did not even offer me water... All very contrary to what she said a consultation meeting looks like for a bride. (This was all fine - I would not have expected anything if she didn't mention it... But she was the one to mention all of the above... So why was it not prepared when we had planned for this meeting way in advance??) But when I got there and we were discussing my vision, the quote went even higher than the original quote... And there was no room for adjustments. She did not try to provide me other options. This was pretty upsetting considering I told her very clearly that it'd be waste for me to drive there if they could not work around my budget... And she said that they could. Things got even more awkward when I told her how I was referred there... She began to say that my friend that referred me there was dishonest with them. That she told them her bridal bouquet was for an engagement shoot but she ended up using it as a bridal bouquet, and that the store was very upset about this. Since their trade mark is the bridal bouquet and her bouquet that they made was not anything close to what they would be proud calling a bridal bouquet. It is one thing to think this... But to discuss this with a potential client? A potential client who was referred by this person? I was so confused and started feeling really uncomfortable. I was trying to gather notes of the meeting and see the breakdown again before I ended the meeting. Jenna printed the quote and used it as a reference... Which I thought she printed for me... As we were discussing it and when I was trying to make notes on it to keep it - she said "oh this is actually for our records, and I need to keep it to show Theresa what we discussed, I emailed this to you already" I told her I was having trouble locating it in my inbox... I thought she would print me another copy... She did not. I asked her if I could just take a picture of it... She denied me from doing that... She could have easily printed another copy... My friend was very upset to hear this happened... She called to complain... After my friend did that I got an email from Theresa saying that she will not work for my wedding. I called to discuss the event, and she refused to discuss the matter. I stayed calm, but let her know that as a customer - I felt that I was owed an apology. Her reply to that was that she felt that they were owed one. I expected an apology whether it would have been sincere or not. This whole experience has been very bitter for me and would not want anyone else to go through this. I feel obligated to give a review on Yelp to inform other potential brides of the unnecessary stress that they can cause. Do not be fooled by 23 good reviews. read more

She was able to capture exactly the atmosphere we were dreaming of. This store is so sweet and lovely, my heart was melting looking at all of the beautiful winter floral arrangements decorating the shop, the neat gifts, the darling little cards (many of which are made by the beautiful rifle paper company!) I have an arts background, and I really appreciate and admire the vision of the owner. I get so excited when I come into a place, or view a piece of artwork that is as aesthetically pleasing, and as thoughtfully arranged as this entire shop. She is a doll and has created a truly exquisite environment. We used Petals and Pop for bouquets for our bridesmaids, corsage for our mothers and grandmothers, and boutonnieres for our groomsmen. Also, we had them do a nice flower arrangement on our arch for our wedding ceremony. The all turned out amazing! We have been coming to Theresa and her business for some time now, mainly just getting flowers for the house. On our wedding day, my wife really wanted to use them for the important flowers at our wedding and we weren't disappointed. The arrangements al turned our really nice! We had our wedding at a brewery and they used hops in our boutonnieres! We are right now drying out several of the flower arrangements we got from them so we can have them for years to come. If it's an important occasion RUN TO A DIFFERENT FLOWER SHOP!! I wanted to buy flowers for my wife for her first birthday since we got married so I googled flower shops and unfortunately found this one. The store looked nice so I figured they could make something nice for the love of my life's birthday. I preordered the flowers a week in advance and couldn't wait for my wife to be surprised. The shop said that not only could they make it but they were willing to deliver them for me. For an entire week I imagined the smile on my wife's face when she unexpectedly received a beautiful bouquet of flowers on her birthday. The day of her birthday arrived and I couldn't wait to hear from her about the beautiful bouquet she had received - the shop said they'd deliver them first thing when they opened around 10:30. By noontime I was getting a little worried that I hadn't heard anything from my wife so I called up the flower shop....Got the answering machine. Called again... same thing. After calling every half hour after that I decided to call their other store... Got their answering machine. I was starting to freak out. So after work I raced over to the flower shop and what did I find? IT WAS CLOSED!!!... On a Thursday?!?... In the beginning of Feb!?! I happened to catch the employee who took my order coming out the door where she had just picked up her paycheck and I asked her what happened. It took every drop of restraint not to scream and yell at her and tell her how she had totally ruined an extremely important surprise for me. Apparently they were closed because they were closed at the beginning of January??? My advice to you... Save yourself a ton of aggravation and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
