What a beautiful spot and such great history. We love coming here as a family. In the autumn the ground is covered in leaves in the picnic area and makes for a great spot to hang out with the kids.

We went as a family we loved it!!!! Lots of picnic spots for the family there is no barbecuing so you would have to bring sandwiches or something like that but overall its very nice

Wonderful place for weekend exploration. Many activities -posted on continually updated calendar- offer a hisotical venue. The staff- docents are so friendly and obviously love working here!

There's a tiny person with the cacti if you look really hard!

My husband and I had business to do in Petaluma and we noticed a sign for this park down the road. We were so glad we checked it out! Jennifer was the most awesome tour guide ever! She explained the history of the park that was the home and ranchero of General Mariano Vallejo. I got the true feeling of how it was to live back then and was so appreciative of my comfy bed when I got home! The grounds are well tended to and the adobe building is extremely well preserved. The huge row of cacti with prickly pears was a cool back drop for pictures. Check this historical place out if you can!

Our first stop between San Francisco and Point Reyes. Largest existing adobo brick building in the US. It's the largest existing adobo brick building in the US. Authentically restored 1700s ranch. It's a CA state park.

Love this place. Every room is open to the public and is well preserved. The trail/walk to the adobe is nice as well.

I opted to explore both levels on my own, which had information signs and period furniture throughout.

With all the reviews about the bird shit, why has it not been addressed??? The City of Petaluma…read moreneeds to own up to this!! There's sprinklers that go on the walking path in an area where the birds do not shit. If they put grass and sprinklers next to the building where they have yoga, it would clean the sidewalks. Lucchesi Park, the place you take your spouse to announce you want a divorce…read more Lucchesi Park, take your girlfriend here to say "it's over". Lucchesi Park, come here to reveal your terminal diagnosis. When something bad happens in someplace nice that place is forever tainted by the memory. This is exactly the reason you should come to Lucchesi Park with dire news. It'd be hard to ruin any memories of a place that's already this crap-tastic. Rather than googling "best parks in Petaluma" someone googled "nearby parks in Petaluma" and there's a big difference. We had a nice bottle of wine, some plastic cups, and poured ourselves a little splash after parking the car. We wanted to sit on a bench by the water, sip our wine, and enjoy the ambiance. In one direction the water-adjacent path was so littered with duck/goose/bird poop that I headed the opposite way. I rounded a bend and discovered the same thing in that direction: A shitstorm the likes of which I've never before seen. I turned around and opted for a bench in front of the building with merely a view of the most egregious poop mounds rather than a close-up. I laughed: this place is disgusting. There's a hiking trail at the other end of the park and a playground across the water but I really had no desire to explore. Later that evening I found Penry Park and imagined what could've been. Always google "best park", never "nearest park".

Playground at the park. Two structure, swings, teeter-totter. Getting a little old and dirty but still good.
