I love this place! This is the only place I really look forward to shopping because it doesn't make my wallet want to cry. Every time I go here there's a sale and on top of that I would have a coupon from my email. I would even have my rewards dollar and be able to price match online. I've gotten four dog treats for ten bucks when all of them are originally $6.99. I've even gotten a $40 dog food bag for $20 because there was a coupon for getting it half off. I was also able to get a $20 jacket for $5!! Everything is just so worth it and my dog loves getting free treats every time he comes with me. The customer service is also really great. I buy fish and shrimp for friends and family because I'm a biologist. I know how to make sure the tanks are set up right; how to quick start the nitrite cycle. (still, let it cycle for a few weeks). By use old filter material and share gravel from an established tank. I set up my brothers tank and over the next month, I bought and quarantined shrimp from Petco. Usually, the invertebrates die within the first few days or the first molt. The ones that survive are hardy and usually survive from then on. I talked to the store manager first without knowing that's what she was when she was "filling in" for the aquatics department. Told me she knows Nothing about fish... I explain the things about inverts that I like and talk shop about some of the fish stuff... After setting up my brothers tank, my home tank, my friends tank, my friend who owns a restaurant asked me to place shrimp in his tank. I bought some and tried to return the ones who didn't survive the first molt and the store manager who knows nothing about fish told me she wasn't going to allow me to do any returns on shrimp anymore. Went on the blame game... Yeah I was pretty heated and tried to explain what happens, but she wasn't having it. I went in to purchase a replacement door for my exo terra And while waiting to be assisted I decided to look at fish and reptiles because I own reptiles and fish as a hobby and seen a beautiful nice size flower horn and was looking for a store worker to bag him up and when I did I ask her did she have any replacement exo terra doors she goes and say no with out looking or seeing if there were any in the store I could purchase the lady had a really bad attitude and vibe towards me even tho I was purchasing a new pet for my collection/hobby and after she bagged my flower horn I Proceeded to look at what else might be in stock after seeing the flower horn and came across the shrimp tank and would like to purchase a few for me and my friend for a future project and I saw that the tank that normally has ghost shrimp we're out and I decided to look in to the high quality shrimp tank and saw There ghost shrimp were mixed up with the Japanese algae eater shrimp and u can clearly tell the difference between them and she proceeded to sell me them as the wrong species of shrimp with out trying to make it right then I wanted to see if there were anything new in the reptile section and I saw There were the same geckos I seen months ago because one has a broken tail and I was gonna purchase one until I saw two very small ones that look to not be any more than four weeks to one month old and at that size the need a lil more care than there parents and they were clearly born at the store and any animal born at the store can not be sold because it is inhuman and not apart of inventory makeing it unethical and the rehome them but she came back and proceeded to say there a different species and there clearly the same once again and walks away mad because she doesn't know her stuff and would like to be right when she wrong as all get out and i feel like when people go to purchase a new companion they should get the one they went to purchase at the price they sold for not over charged and lied to or one to small to survive because a person new to keeping them may think it's ok to give them the same amount of care because babies need a lil more help and I hope they can see this and get there stuff together and why I recommend shopping local breeders and going to local reptiles expos for stuff u want and examine the animals before you purchase and do your research and learn info from the breeder but I never go back I spend more money before I ever over pay from a local chain store and that's how the cookie crumbles read more

DON'T take your dog here to be groomed. I had an appointment at 2pm on Saturday July 3rd. Around 04:30 pm they called and said he was ready to be picked up. (2 hours they kept him and did nothing) When I arrived, they said my dog was acting poorly, trying to bite the clippers so they couldn't do anything but bathe him and trim around his eyes. THEY CUT HIS FACE. Now let me tell you, my dog is medium sized with long hair. He's a Tibetan Terrier, very calm and mild mannered. He's not aggressive at all! He's an old cuddlebug who spends most of his time sleeping. He's been groomed numerous times before and I've never had anyone tell me he's aggressive. I go to pick him up, and they still charged me 44 dollars. I saved the receipt and called Petco customer service. It wasn't until I was on the way home with him in the car that I saw the cut above his eye. No wonder he didn't want them to groom him, the first thing they did was cut my poor buddy's face. Petco has incompetent groomers. They will hurt your dog, not tell you about it and then charge you for it as if they did nothing wrong! Horrible people! Horrible establishment! If you love your pet, please do not bring them to Petco. Absolutely the worst place I've taken my dog. I would give 0 stars if I could read more

I would like to clarify a misinformed comment that was made about the Crimson Giant Day geckos in an earlier review. The gecko with the "broken tail" did NOT in fact have a broken tail: he can curl and utilize it just as perfectly as any other gecko in the enclosure. He has always had that deformity from the day he was delivered to the store. As for the very small baby day geckos, petco was NOT trying to breed them and sell the babies. They are not equipped to house and incubate eggs, for one thing. For another thing, the babies were shipped that size by the vendor: and they have the purchase order to prove that they did come from a vendor. There are several people there who know a good deal about reptiles, and if people ask instead of making assumptions, they would be far more informed. read more

we called a day before and they said they had 2 of the pet we wanted we then told them we were going to buy one, so a day went by and we drove 2 hours, we came up with a name on the way there! , we ran in ( mind i got my socks wet ) and we looked for the pet we wanted and we asked a lady working there for the pet and they had the audacity to say "we sold them minute before" outrageous! do not recommend! read more

I brought my yorkie in to see the groomer. Since she is a yorkie, she has been to the groomers often and I have never had a bad report given about her. This time when I came in, I was told that they did not clip her nails or finish her face because they were afraid what she would do to herself and I was told she bites. I asked how I was going to get her nails cut, and I was told that I would need to take her to the vet and possibly sedate her. This came as a shock to me because I have never heard of her causing problems with any other groomer or vet. They also charged me for the full service and they did not perform the full service. She also had no bow on her head and her tail was not done. I am not usually a picky person when it comes to the grooming of her, but an incomplete grooming and still charging full price, I don't see how this is right. I will not bring her back to this place and I will not recommend this groomers to anyone else. Everyone was kind, but from my perspective they were not fully qualified. read more

I got my dog the first of November (this occurred the beginning January) and her previous owner seemed to have taken good care of her. After a couple of months she needed her nails trimmed as well as a professional bath and I figured since it was my first time with her I would go ahead and take her to Petco and just get the full service grooming. First of all, Paul (I believe was his name) wasn't very friendly when I called up to schedule her appointment, but I'm a big girl and can handle poor customer service. The real issues started when I brought my dog into the physical store and only one worker actually helped me find the entrance to the grooming area. Once I entered, I met "Paul" face to face and he explained that she would only be given a trim and it would probably take four hours to complete. No biggie there, that's standard for a grooming anywhere really. When I returned to pick her up, she looked TERRIBLE. Her nails were cracked and not fully cut so she had multiple hangnails and her fur was shaved so short (in the middle of winter mind you) that it was white instead of her normal black coat. Not to mention they forgot to even touch her tail and stopped midway up her neck so she had a terrible black fur line. Now that I have made their lack-of training clear, I can go back to their poor customer service. Even despite the initial sock of her terrible grooming job, I maintained my face and was very friendly to the workers. The female that was at the computer this time was far worse than "Paul" could ever be. Since they failed to call me to let me know she was finished like they said, I waited an extra hour and a half and just went there myself. Due to this, I immediately greeted her and pointed out that I knew they weren't expecting me since I never got a call and if Morgan wasn't ready I could come back. She responded with the most disgusted look I have ever received by a professional and said with a strong attitude that they had called me and left a voicemail hours ago. Naturally I was embarrassed, so I pulled my phone out just to double check and there was nothing there. I told her it must have been a glitch and she pulled up her recent call history just to prove me wrong and read out a phone number that was one digit off from mine. After informing her of the mistake and reassuring her that mistakes happen, she continued to talk to me with short responses and an attitude. Will NEVER be sending her to any Petco again since they can't figure out how to hire professionals. read more
