Our Goldendoodle has been groomed by Petco multiple times, however, this specific location we went to while we were traveling was the epitome of awful. From the get-go, Hailey was rude and unprofessional; she was unsure of how to do his haircut because of minor matting behind his elbows and kept repeating "i don't know, I'll try.". To my understanding, Petco has policies and requirements for groomers and their respective credentials, but it seemed like the team as a whole lacked the fundamentals. After speaking with Hailey over the phone to provide clarification and ask if I could answer any questions, she said no and that I should expect Bruno in about 4 hours. About an hour and a half later, the "previous salon manager" Ashley calls me saying that he is matted all over and that I need to pick him up or else they will shave him as the only solution. In a passive-aggressive and condescending manner, she disregarded any autonomy we have in our dog's style and showed a complete lack of professionalism. Upon picking him up, I spoke with the store manager, Rendy who was kind enough to tell us the truth behind why they refused to work on Bruno. In a professional way, she said that they do not want to upset picky dog owners; every dog owner deserves to be picky if they spend a considerable amount of time maintaining their coat. Rendy admitted that Ashley should not have provided misinformation over the phone falsely claiming that he is matted all over. The salon tech showed my wife how they brush through the coat and the second a tangle stops the brush, they diagnose it as all-around matting and thus refuse service. Although Rendy was kind enough to try justifying the groomer's lack of professionalism, she agreed and stated "It would have been worse if they continued with Bruno." I have had a poor experience with Petco before in which headquarters reached out, once again apologizing for a store's lack of professionalism. I think I am recognizing the trend. I believe if you have a low-maintenance dog with fairly straightforward genetic coat patterns, Petco is actually not a bad idea. However, if you are looking for someone who is educated in more modern genetically cross bred dogs, find an actual professional; quality over quantity! read more

My significant other and I were more than comfortable bringing our dog here. Both of us are avid animal lovers and would come to buy him treats or purchase accessories for our other pets. If we ever saw an animal having problems (snake with stuck shed, rodent that didn't appear to feel well), then the staff would immediately check on the animal and take appropriate action. The staff seems to genuinely care about the creatures that are under their watch. When we had to rehome 6 pet mice that we'd previously purchased at their location, they stepped in and found them a home, giving us updates and making sure that they stayed together (as pets and not feeders). read more

The ladies were great! They were kind and very good to my fur baby. My fur baby does not get near as nervous at Petco as she does other places. She always smells fresh and clean. No loud smells at all. I enjoy taking my fur baby to the groomers at Petco! Keep up the good work girls! read more

Petco is horrible. It always looks like people just throw everything everywhere and the employees just look at it and walk away. It always smells like they let every animal just poop everywhere and leave it there for days. but today I TRIED to come in at 5:45 and they closed at 6, but the doors were already locked. We looked inside and there was a lady walking out so we waited. The employee just asked what we needed as I had my puppy in my arms. When I told her what I needed she was extremely rude. And kept saying "sorry we close at 6." So we went to Hollywood feed and will never go to Petco or anywhere else. Worse place ever. read more

We just moved to the area and we're needing some rawhide bones for our 2 dogs. We stopped at the Petco on Caraway and have never been more disgusted in our (mine and my husband) lives. We walked in yes I know it is a let store but it reeked of dog like to the point of it being hard to take regular breaths. We literally walked in and down one isle before having to leave without even finding what we went in for. We've been to many pet stores before and never had this problem. Customer service is horrible here. I just stood in line for 10 minutes while the cashier took her sweet time ringing up the woman in front of me. Another employee (Brian) walked around making small chat with other employees but couldn't be bothered to ring me up at the other registers (which were open). Then another woman got in line behind me and he told her to come to the next register to be rung up. Really?!! At this point I decided my small purchase wasn't worth dealing with this and left the store. This isn't the first incidence of poor service I've experienced here, but its the last time I'm coming in. I hope the aforementioned employees will reevaluate their customer service skills before they drive other customers away. There are plenty of other pet stores in Jonesboro. For fish, go to Reef Escapes. The employees there are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. There's plenty of pet boutiques too for cats and dogs. read more

So many bad reviews on here, but my experience was quite the opposite. I was already nervous about dropping my dog off to be groomed, since moving to Jonesboro, I've had such a rotten time finding someone who would groom my nervous puppy. They assured me that they knew how to deal with nervous doggies, and that put my mind at ease. They were very loving and cuddly with my dog, and I felt less nervous about leaving her. When I came back for her, she looked amazing! Lillie was her groomer, and she was so genuinely sweet and caring. The price was almost half of what Petsmart charges for the same package! All of the employees were so kind, talking to me about my dog and telling me stories of their dogs. They were also super kind to refund me when a coupon was left off by mistake. One word, horrible. I bought two budgies the day before Mother's Day (no person offered to help explain how to care for them so I had to trust the Internet) and one died after four days, we had thrown the receipt away because we didn't assume that our bird would die after two days. They wouldn't give us our money back, but we bought another one to replace it, I noticed there were almost all completely different birds from when I was there. Now today I got home and both birds are dead. I cared for them as best I could, changed their food and water once a day, cleaned their cage twice a week, and fed them the feed they gave them in their cage. I went up there today and we wanted our money back for all three birds, we had the receipt for one, the manager showed no sympathy for the death of three of the birds they sold me. I couldn't get the money back for the cage and everything I bought for them. I'd give this place zero stars if I could because it's horrible. No advice on how to care for them, no sympathy if they obviously sold you a sick animal and the manager is hesitant to give a refund. I highly recommend you don't buy birds from petco. read more

Had a horrible day today at Petco. Took both dogs to get a bath (nail trimming and such included.) One is 10 yrs, 11 lbs. The other is 6 yrs, 30 lbs. Appointment was made for 2 o clock. Dropped them off and came back around 5:30 to find that only one dog had been given a bath ( the small one) and the other had just been sitting in a cage all day. We sat and watched as one groomer walked around doing nothing and took a couple smoke breaks. Did not give us any updates as to how long it would be. The other woman was grooming another dog. The small one sat in a cage this entire time, panting. Finally our bigger dog was bathed. We walked to Old Navy, shopped and came back expecting her to be done. Bigger dog was left in the bath until woman was done grooming someone else's dog. Finally after like 45 minutes, she started in on our bigger dog and began giving her the deshedding treatment. Finally like two hours after we had come to pick them up, the bigger one was done. Then we figured out that our smaller one in fact WAS NOT DONE YET and still needed nails trimmed. Have no idea if anal glands and ears were done. I didn't see it happen if it did. Didn't get home until 7:30. Five and a half hours and eighty dollars for that. Going somewhere else next time. Unbelievable. (Also keep in mind the photos shown are NOT photos of the local Petco lol. It is NOT that clean and organized.) read more
