Every other interaction was through the front desk. In May, a receptionist told me my cat had been diagnosed with stomatitis and gum disease and had already received two injections -- over $70 worth -- without anyone calling me first for consent. (They DID call me about bloodwork that same visit. So they know how to ask. They just didn't.) When I asked what stomatitis was, she compared it to a canker sore. Then said bring him back in two weeks if he's not better. That's it. No treatment plan. No written diagnosis. Nothing. I have been requesting his complete medical records since May 26th. It is now June 14th. His new vet has confirmed they have received nothing. I've had to piece together what's happening with my cat through my own research because this clinic's communication is that poor. I am in the process of filing a formal complaint with the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Examining Board. I never wanted it to come to that. I just wanted to know what was wrong with my cat, and I've done nothing but worry and freak out simply because their communication and ethics are so poor. Please, don't take your beloved pet there. Use Jonesboro Family Pet Hospital instead. They're my new vet home, and they are WONDERFUL.

I have…read moretwo rabbits and a tortoise, and I've used Crate Escape twice--for three weeks in December and two weeks in March. In my ideal world, my pet sitters would be hyper communicative. Karen and her team post daily to a private online "pet care journal," with a brief description of the visit and often a couple of pictures. When I've texted, Karen has responded within the hour. When I've scheduled service online, it's been confirmed by the end of the day. Oh, and she posts pictures and video frequently on Instagram, all full of adorable shots of Jonesboro pets. When my mother-in-law discovered this, she became Karen's biggest fan--she often sees fresh 'grams before I do. "Did you see the latest from Karen?" she'll ask, "It's super cute" (because it always is). In my ideal world, my pet sitters would play with my pets, would seem to enjoy interacting with them, would think up new games. Karen exceeds my dreams, in this regard. She sits on the floor and plays with my rabbits, brings new toys, comes up with creative search-and-find games where she hides a little bit of banana in a cup. And to be clear, Crate Escape meets every job description of a pet sitter, too: They give food and change water dishes and let you know if they notice strange or destructive behavior. More, too: They'll collect mail. They'll take trash cans out. They'll do pet clean-up. I understand that if your pets need walking (mine don't), that's part of the service. I often see Karen out by the Farmer's Market with a gaggle of dogs, throwing a tennis ball from a launcher. Given that my previous experience with a different petsitter in Jonesboro was a nightmare--long story short, my pets went four days without being fed/watered--I cannot recommend Crate Escape highly enough. Karen's awesome. And their rates are so very reasonable for the top-notch service they provide.

I was very disappointed to see that the only visible review is negative, and am writing to provide a contrasting perspective. The store is well-stocked and prices are reasonable. Sale items are abundant. More importantly, the lady who is there most often is very knowledgeable and cares about the fish and other animals. She isn't after a making quick buck at the expense of living creatures. If a purchase is imprudent, she will let you know. If you ask a question, you will get a detailed and correct answer. She has often directed me to a less expensive product after I had selected something that was overkill for my aquarium. I purchased a few fish there once, and noticed problems with the eyes of one of them after a few days. I went to the store to purchase medication, but the lady asked me to bring the fish in for an exchange instead. She said it must have been problematic to begin with and it wasn't fair for me to spend money on treating it. I hadn't so much as hinted at an exchange. All of the employees are knowledgeable and friendly. A young man who works there once spent half an hour looking up an answer to a complicated question I had. This is definitely a business worth supporting.

When asked why, they said that they are not a professional boarding place and recommended elsewhere. If your boarding place is not readily presentable, you should not have a boarding place to start with. Very disappointing and humiliating to board my dog at a place that is too shy to show where she lives. And I will never find out her living conditions. Be prepared they will refuse to show you their boarding place because they want to hide how messy and miserable it is. I asked to see the facility or even a picture before boarding and they refused. Who cannot provide even a photo? They are extremely inconsiderate as I didn't know what to prepare for my small dog as I had no idea how big the cage was. I ended up bringing a bigger cushion/bed and as a result, my dog didn't pee or poop in the cage due to no space was left for her to do so. It's extremely inhumane and inconsiderate. When I asked how many hours the dog was left in the cage unattended for at night, they immediately said they were not professional boarding place. Then why are you doing business there if you are not professional? I was simply asking a question. As a result of the original review (first paragraph), they called to say that they can't provide medical treatments for my dog anymore. They are a business where they had zero reflection on themselves, vindictive, and has very poor service. The manager Courtney just kept shouting on the phone and didn't let customer speak. She also hung up on customer. She refused to listen to customer feedback and said they were providing perfect service. What a joke. I highly suspect that they are actively discriminating customers. Stay away from this business.
