I'm still disappointed in the lack of compassion from the hospital office manager in Palm Bay Florida. bethanie was rude, unprofessional, and uncaring. when I questioned her about a med that they didn't have - she used the worse interpersonal skills and began speaking of her budget. once I informed her that I wasn't interested in the. budget but was more interested in the plan of care for my pet. she then said " I will not purchase that med for dog as I just threw away expired meds. She threw her hand up and excited the room. I have not witnessed this type of behavior from someone in this type of senior leadership role ever!!! oh my my my!!!! Came in looking for some dog life vests. They didn't have life vests but lots of other fun pet items. Unfortunately we saw a large number of dead fish. Something I see a lot at Petsmart and Petco these days. Some previous reviews also mention poor experiences with the dog grooming at this location. You should look at the photos and read those reviews too. Puppy training classes. Grooming as mentioned before. They have items for dogs and cats as well as birds and fish. A few turtles, some adorable sleeping ferrets, rats, mice, guinea pigs, and a few lizards. Toys and treats. Food and medications for any ailments your companion may have. You can even bring your pet inqide while you walk around and shop if you feel so inclined. All in all a nice pet option in the neighborhood. Parking out front and they have a rewards program is you choose to frequent this chain here or anywhere else. read more

Macy was very rude and told after I stood there for numerous minutes that because I wasn't in "line" the guy that came after me was entitled to go first. Went to buy flea medicine for my cats. Noticed it was $20 HIGHER than chewy.com. Also, on Petcos website it says they price match chewy.com and Petsmart. Asked the manager about it and he says that they don't do that. Which makes no sense when their companies website says they do. Luckily Petsmart is right by the Petco and Petsmart had the same price as chewy.com. I would highly recommend going to Petsmart instead. read more

Most hobbyist complain about the big stores like petco, but I have nothing but praise for this store. I have been here several times throughout the past few years and all my experiences were positive. The one experience that prompted me to write a review was the level of service and expertise that I received yesterday. I am looking at a starter aquarium for my kiddos and met Christina (I hope I spelled it right), the fish area manager. She was amazing! Very knowledgeable, gave me great advice on setting up my tank and what I needed. Took her time to explain everything, what a great level of customer service. She walked me through the setup and even helped me compare products to find the best ones for my needs. Christina was also a sweetheart with my kids! She made a "big store" feel like a friendly neighborhood store with her kindness and expertise. PETCO you really hit it out of the park when you hired her. Avoid this store. This store is run by the absolute worst management. I had a grooming appointment booked and was called a week later to advise me that they had a corporate policy that did not allow dogs to be groomed past the age of 12. I contacted the corporate offices to find out why the policy exists and was told that was not a policy of theirs. I called back to speak with them grooming manager and she acted like she was not the manager, and then transferred me to the store manager. That manager explained that it was up to the discretion of the salon manager. When I asked why I was lied to, the store manager berated me with abusive language and left me with a suggestion that I find another place for my pet needs. Absolutely unprofessional read more

After moving to Florida from New Jersey, we wanted to continue using Petco for our dog's grooming appointments. We have had great service in our Raritan NJ store, however the experience today at the Viera FL location was an utter and epic failure! It started at the check in counter, where the attendant stopped in the middle of the process of checking our dog (an 11 pound mini poodle) to speak to two young people who looked like her ( blue hair, piercings everywhere) and left us waiting. Then about an hour in to the grooming appointment, we received a call stating our dog was anxious, nervous, and being uncooperative, we asked if we should return to the store to pick up our dog, they said no it will just take longer then expected. Our dog has been groomed many times prior to today. An hour later they called us to pick up our dog, when we arrived back at the store, another heavily pierced young lady started to berate us, stating that we should not bring our dog back, and the reason was that she was overly anxious and would not sit still, in fact she stated that this particular Petco was understaffed and the groomers were young and inexperienced! Now with a groomer virtually on ever other corner, we will definitely not be patronizing Petco for any future grooming needs. Do yourself a favor and avoid the Viera FL Petco store for any of your pet needs. read more

I have used Petco for years for my pets. They are always amazing. Yesterday I went to have my Shepherd groomed but due to an ear problem with her they said they couldn't groom her. She really needed it. Pleasant surprise they now offer a self bathing service. They provide the area,shampoo and plenty of instructions. Sarah the grooming manager was the best. She actually made it easy for us to get it done even made it fun. Will definitely be using this service the next time her ears flare up. The rest of the time I'll let them have the fun. read more

My doodle has had plenty of horrible haircuts including shave downs and poodle style, but Brittany has given us hope! She was extremely patient and took the time to listen to what I wanted, which I have learned is not as common as you'd think. She also called me before doing anything when she thought in my dogs best interest, we cut more then originally planned. Best of all, this was the best and cutest cut she's ever had AND my dog seemed to be more comfortable with her than any other groomer. This update review is for two visits to the grooming section at Petco. Brought my Husky in the middle of Sept and yesterday (24 Oct). Both times Denise took care of her and did an awesome job. She got the standard bath along with a de-shedding trim and the almond scent for Sept and pumpkin scent for Oct. She looked and smelled great. Now she was ready for Halloween costume contest, which was today. Since was born and raised in Hawaii, it was fitting that she dressed as a Hula Dog. She won 3rd place in this years contest at this Petco. read more

We've been to many Petcos. I have to say...this was by far the best experience we've ever had. My husband has recently fallen in love with geckos. I have to change my rating and sorry I have to do so. We took our dog to get pictures with Santa. The setup was atrocious. It was right out in the open to the left side when you opened the store. A women had a tablet and was taking pictures we had our dog well behind and down the aisle. The woman yelled over to us if we could move away into the store. Our puppy was excited. She said it was too much of a distraction. It seemed rude and also stupid. We left and went to petsmart. Much more professional and friendly. They smartly (no pun intended) had a closed off walled section to take puppy pictures with Santa. It was all free and very pleasant. I wont be going to petco again read more

I shop at petco all the time for live fish, fish supplies, cat supplies & more. I usually don't go to this one because it's a little farther but I was in the area and needed to pick up some things. When we saw the live fish section, every tank was mislabeled, sooo many dead fish were in the tanks, one tank was 'under observation' and it was a huge mess. No one came back to that area the entire 30 minutes I was in the store, we had to eventually go up to the front where two employees were talking, they then got annoyed that we asked for help with a fish and live plant. Aside from all that, once they got us what we needed we asked if we could have a black bag for our fish so he'd be less stressed (light can cause more stress when transporting) and the girl there said "Black bags are for dead fish." When we replied by saying that the dead fish would make more sense in the white bags they use for the live fish who can still get stressed... because they're alive.. she said "there's a lot of kids in the store by the hamsters usually and we'd have to walk past them with a dead fish. We aren't trying to traumatize the kids." I was so confused because like I said, every tank in there fish section had dead fish. I literally just said have a good night and left. read more

Prior to change in grooming management at the Viera Florida store I loved bringing my boys. Jessica (Previous grooming manager) and Denise are amazing with animals. Not to mention I referred many people and I have been going there for the past 11 years. But the past 2 visits have been very concerning.. 1st - I received a phone calls stating that I could pick up my boys, but one was not finished.....??? Crazy after 8 hours of them being there! The employee was told by manager she was out of hours and had to clock out, I felt horrible for them to be crated so long. I Talked to Manager said it would not happen again, she was very nice and understanding. But my very next visit, yesterday, I received a call after 5 hours saying I can pick up boys, but she couldn't finish couldn't finish his face and front legs, but if I wanted to wait longer when Denise comes back from lunch she could finish - this time they were there for 6 hours. Would not recommend until grooming manager gets more help and training. read more

I have been taking my 5 year old Yorkshire terrier to Petco groomers since he was a year old. I have never had an issue since last night when I took him to get groomed at the Petco in Viera, Florida. His appointment was scheduled for 2pm, and my boyfriend gets a call at 6:30pm telling him he needs to pick up my dog, Bentley, because he accidentally fell on a razor blade and is bleeding and needs stitches. Upon my boyfriend arriving to scene, my dog's skin was hanging and blood was everywhere. He took Bentley to a near by 24 hour animal hospital where my dog ended up having to get 6 STITCHES! And he is on antibiotics. My dog has not stopped shaking since and I am completely appalled at the negligence from the employees and the general manager at this store. I have not received even a phone call asking if my dog is ok, and Petco has definitely lost me as a loyal customer for life. A $50 groom that turned into a $402 medical bill. I don't understand how my dog "accidentally" slipped and fell on a razor blade, just shows how careless these groomers are. I hope in the future there is a better training program for these said groomers and I don't understand why I made a 2pm appointment when I didn't get a call until 6:30pm saying he was just getting groomed and got cut. What is the point of me making an appointment that early? Also it seemed that there were way too many grooms booked for that one day, and that this said groomer was rushing to get all the grooms done which leads to poor work ethic, and had a serious effect on my dog. He has not had an appetite all day and has been so loopy from his antibiotics. I wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy and am not at all happy about the outcome nor the fact that the employee nor the manager on duty have contacted me or compensated my animal and I during the pain and suffering of my dog. It is absolutely ridiculous and would have never expected this from the place I trusted my dog was in great hands in. Serious thumbs down to them. read more

We have been bringing our golden to Viera on a regular basis for a while. Denise has been very professional and helpful. However our dog got a staph infection on our last visit and we are concerned about returning. He was not in contact with other dogs before or after his grooming. We paid over $100.oo for vet treatment and meds and had to make a lot of arrangements over holidays to avoid dog to dog contact. Very disappointed read more

Our dog has been groomed at Petco for 7 years, 4-5 times per year. We have a Rewards card and even have Petco gift cards given to us. On Mar 2nd my wife called for an appointment and was told Mar 14th was the first available one. She asked for something sooner as the dog was to go to the vet on the 13th but was told No. I couldn't believe it so I called the next day and was told that they had 1 full time and 1 part time groomer. After 7 years of loyalty I was appalled but had an unused gift card so I stuck with the schedule. On the 14th at 9 am I had my dog there for the grooming along with new vaccination certificates but was told "policy" requires shots 48 hours before service. I was floored, the dog has been there maybe 35 times, never had any kind of reaction. PetCo asks for customer loyalty but doesn't reciprocate. We have put up with rotating groomers, canceled appointments because a groomer was out sick and to be slapped in the face like this is unbelievably horrible customer service. I will never set foot in Petco again and I gave a $35 gift card to a lady that was walking into the store as I left. Warning-get a local independent groomer instead of playing rotating groomer at Petco. Get someone that knows your dog and sets their own policy. read more
