Long term customer suddenly I am told the cost for grooming is almost double because I have been charged wrong for the past 6 years. This after I had to struggle to get my poor elderly dog in the car and drive him there. The person was rude, didn't even try to offer me an alternative. Very shady bait and switch. I got in with Petsmart who did a good job for half what Petco was trying to charge me. They lost a long term customer. read more

I went on Sunday to a location in pottstown for treatment of an ear infection. The good thing is they got me in on Sunday when no one else was available. They treated only with ear drops. The infection did not get better. I went to another petco . I was hoping for a discount since their treatment didn't work. While I was given another kind of ear drops. She as better for a couple days but the infection returned. I appreciate their attempt but had to return to my vet for treatment. The total for both visits was over $400 dollars and problem was not solved nd had to pay another $300 at my vet. read more

Went to Petco . I groomed my dog and the next day the dog had large. Welts with oozing pus. I took him to the vet. the vet said he had a serious bacterial infection that was caused by using a dirty grooming tool. the vet cost was Five hundred and twenty five dollars. read more

I had my 15lb dog here for a hair cut with Audra. It took her three hours. As I was at the register paying, another customer informed me that Audra was very physically rough with my 15lb dog; cutting her nails and throwing her leg down, spinning her around roughly, and making comments that she is sick of this. My dog had no behaviors, just nervous because it was her first hair cut. The other customer had let the manager in the grooming area know that she saw my dog being treated terribly for over 30 mins because she stood at the window and watched. You know it's bad when a stranger speaks up for your dog. When I went back in to ask Audra why someone would report that and ask what she did, it was panic on her face. The manager jumped in and said she would be watching the tapes and call me. No call yet and it's been five days. You always hear bad things about petco and petsmart hurting animals, I tried to give them a shot and look... they lived up to the animal abuser claims they are known for. DISGUSTING. I can only imagine how she treated my dog in the back room. Audra said she is a new groomer. If she has lack of patience already, this isn't the job for her. read more

Went to get OTC medicine for my pupper and realized that the cost online was $5 less than the store. She gladly matched the price and was very pleasant to boot! 30 minutes later I had to return for the nail clipper I forgot. It was $4 cheaper in the store and once again another employee cashed me out at the online price no questions asked. Felt like I scored both times! read more

This is our regular store. They carry EVERYTHING our dog needs and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Our dog Lucy took puppy class 1 & 2 with Hector. He is a great trainer and we would recommend anyone looking for classes to take his. He works very well with the dogs and owners too haha. Lucy loves to say hi to Hector every time we bring her in. They always have her food in stock and she loves the petco brand treats Whole Hearted. If you do shop here check online and on the petco app. They sometimes offer an extra 10% off when you order online and pickup in store! We don't have our dog groomed there and don't use the vet services so I can't say much about those services. read more

Has a bunch of choices, and I have 23 animals so I go there quite frequently. But when I go into the fish section I can't help but feel bad, for instance today I walked in looking for a betta fish and there was easily 50 glofish cramed into a 10 gallon tank, as well as the goldfish, all the bettas did not look healthy, as they were sitting on the bottom of the cup barely moving. But my dogs and cats absolutely love petcos toys and food! read more

We just got our dog back from the groomer. The grooming job was normal. Not great, not horrible. Some awkward looking spots and redness in other spots. But he came back from the salon with a couple fleas on him. When we called back to warn them that they may have some fleas in their holding cages, they denied everything and tried to make us pay for a flea bath. We have an indoor dog. He had NO fleas before we brought him in. I am 100% sure of that. So he definitely got them from Petco. We weren't looking for a refund, we just wanted them to check the cages so no other dogs get fleas, but they just denied everything. They seemed unprofessional and we will NOT be going back to that groomer. read more

My dog has bloody spots at the areas where she has known cysts that were pointed out to the groomer. And she hasn't stopped scratching herself constantly since the grooming appointment was completed. read more

Low and behold,we went to Petco for a bag of dry dog food and i jad 2 pals rewards loaded for $10,they weren't set to expire until May and June and they are gone! Do not shop at this store they never have what you want and now this. They probably took them for my bad review last month. You can go to hell. We found another pet supplier and with a much better supply of dog treats and food. I will never step foot in a Petco and will try ro get as many people i know to stop buying from you. read more

Never been to a Petco before so I didn't really know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it only smelled like dog food throughout the store instead of a less pleasing alternative. My wife has been looking to adopt a dog recently so she coerced me into the store to try and convince me that I wanted one as well. Although I wasn't set on a dog when we left, they do offer some nice freebies such as grooming and training sessions among other things. You also get the benefit of going to a larger pet store so the bulk savings are passed on to the customer. I'm not sure I will be getting a dog anytime within the next few months, but when I do, this will be the first place on my to do list. read more

I took my dog for grooming. He has autumn M. she was great. My dog looks wonderful and he smells great. autumn did great. I got the spa works package they used degreasing shampoo, luxury conditioner (ps. he feels supper soft) , blubbery facial, 2 step dental, nail buffing, even a watermelon cologne ( all though i didn't smell that, i smelled his shampoo), and ear cleaning. Tried to take my dog to another groomer to get him fixed but nobody had openings for the weekend. Called the store to talk to the grooming manager to see what could be done about my dog looking so ridiculous and he connected me with the store manager, who had refunded my money the night before and had made no attempt to introduce herself to me or ask what was wrong, and she immediately began telling me that my dog looked fine and that the reason why they hadnt offered to fix my dog for me was because i was angry. Clearly commonsense and customer service are things that are frowned upon at this store because OF COURSE im going to be upset when my dog looks crazy and when i come in trying to get him fixed ur groomer immediately starts giving me attitude AFTER she has messed up my dog for no reason and u, as the store manager, walk up with more attitude without saying a word! Its ur job to make me not upset and offer me solutions, it's not mine to babysit ur attitude. Anywho, she told me that her higher ups had emailed her my review and told her not to respond to me so here i am again =) ensuring that NOBODY goes through something like this with this store ever again! I have been a loyal petco shopper for all of my pets for years but after my experience with this store I WILL NEVER GO BACK! The fact that petco doesnt have better judgement and hired these people to run and work at this store, it says a lot about them as a company. Save ur self the headache and go elsewhere! read more

I got three female fancy mice, and these were my first ones that I've ever gotten, so I wasn't sure if they were or not, but they all looked sick, both males and females. Well, turns out they were sick and all three of my little girls died in a month, the first two kicking in the first week I had them. I feel guilty on my part for not realizing they were sick, but please if you get any animal from here I'd suggest taking them to a vet right after the purchase, just for a checkup to check for any illnesses. The mice were also way too crowded, ten or more than should have been in each tank. I'm glad I got to give my little sweetheart girls a good life for at least a short while. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. Bought a 500 circulation pump after the employee promised me it would not be too powerful in my 30 gallon tank. Sure enough, after trying it out for a month, no matter where I put it, it was blowing bare spots in my sand. I take it back and because I didnt have the original receipt, even though they were able to verify the price on pals, they would not let me return. I have spent thousands of dollars here, and to be treated like this is an absolute insult. No wonder the salt water section looks terrible with this type of customer service. read more
