Nice service from cashier. The lady working on fish acted as if she was the costumer and I should wait as she rolled her huge cart by and checked on things while staring at me as I waited for her I'm middle of the aisle. Not a huge problem as the main challenge is very low dog collar collection and dogs tag machine is broke. I guess thank God for Amazon when I wanted to support local as much as possible. I start off by saying that the vet we saw was knoweldgeable and caring. I can't complain about the level of professional care that we received. The Vetco manager Maria, however, could not judge the reaction of a very upset pet parent to a clerical error which did not affect them, but rather the medication for my pet's health which does affect her. Without the proper training for her clerks, she took the position behind her clerk instead of seeing the big picture and approached me, the customer with her problem of not being able to manage and train her employees. I have no problem paying for my pets health needs, which we all know are costly, so I have no problem spending my money somewhere else where the customer is appreciated. I am a consumer. You are one of many veterinarian clinics. Your customer service, irrespective of the bilingual ability of your clerk, is the worst I have ever experienced. We have taken our dog to get groomed there twice. The first time was just a scissor cut all around and was very choppy. She had chunks missing from her fur. It was so bad that a customer stopped us in Petco asking if we just got her groomed here and gave us a business card of the groomer that she goes to. The second time (see pictures), we had to go because nothing else was available for the next four months. They shaved her completely even though we brush her every night and make sure that she doesn't have mats. Her face was so choppy and uneven. You can have a great location, which this place does. You can have a nice store, again, which this place does. Then you can have a not so great staff to ruin it all. The store itself is well maintained and fully stocked. They have a great selection of pretty much everything one would need going into a pet store. I was just immediately turned off by the lack of customer service. I came in this morning to get some cat food for my little babe and not one person working said hello or looked up to acknowledge my existence as I walked by at least four employees. I found the food by myself (I say this with pride as I am new here and could not find it for a few moments) and it had a $3 off coupon! I walk up to the check out and realize right away there is not real line to signs telling you were to start a line. I decide to make an educated guess and stand by the empty registers behind the gentleman currently being helped. The cashier had to have noticed me but again I must have been medusa today because he dare not look at me. When the man is finished being checked out I start to walk forward until another customer cuts me off and puts his things on the counter. I totally get this is an awkward situation so I didn't expect the cashier to really say anything to the man who cut in line but I maybe expected him to acknowledge the situation happened when it was alas my turn. That did not happen. I put the food on the counter and start the process and realize the food didn't ring up with the $3 off coupon so I ask him and tell him "hey there was a coupon posted in the back for $3 off" yeah.. he did not care at all. I didn't know if I should walk him back to said coupon or what. He just stood there like he didn't care, which we already established he didn't. What's a gal to do, so I just said "alright" and paid after the awkward silence filled the check out area. On my way out I knew that I'd probably never return to this location and instead look into chewy.com or another service for my pets food. Took my 8 month old puppy to be groomed today only for them to refuse him simply because he was scared. I've used two other groomers in the past and had nothing but positive things to say about them. Usually when you take your dog to be groomed, the groomer will take a few minutes to let the puppy become comfortable. They will let the puppy sniff them and slowly let the dog come to them so that they are comfortable during their grooming. This in particular groomer, immediately came at my puppy with a leash and didn't give him time to be accustomed to her scent. When he refused to let her pet him, she told me she wouldn't groom him despite the fact that he was 100% not aggressive, simply scared. Called a groomer in Savannah and explained the situation and they got him in at 8 AM the next morning. There is nothing worse than bad customer service. Never again. read more

Just had about the worse experience you could every have with a clerk. Trying to return something's I had bought online with Petco, somehow they double ordered the items I had bought. So I was returning the extra that I didn't order minus the shipping they would not refund. Not my mistake, I only ordered one item each. We also was getting some more canned food and was using a store coupon for the food. I was to get 1 free can for every 4 bought. Needless to say our clerk Allah did not know how to scan the coupon for the second free can. He said we needed another coupon, yet he would not try to scan that coupon again. It was a store coupon, what was the problem??? All the coupons had the same code on them!!! If I could have given negative stars I would have. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Will Knick the dogs and not say anything to let you know!!!!! First off let me say that my dogs were groomed here twice. At first I asked for rush rover service because of my dogs having anxiety about going into a cage. I paid for that. A lot more expensive to wait for your dog to be groomed. I didn't care these are my family. I didn't say anything when your company knicked my dog to the point she was bleeding. Accidents happen. I put neosporin on it, she was fine. Then I had to cancel an appointment due to a family member dying. That's when it all went downhill. I called to let them know and they asked if I wanted to reschedule. I think being as upset as I was I said no. Then I called 3 weeks later to reschedule. I took them in may for the appointment. I didn't use rush rover I just needed them done. I actually spoke to the groomer who was very pleasant and she said they did fine. Come to find out this groomer said I was rude. I am very appreciative when I was picking up my dogs from petco both times. I wasn't rude until they canceled 2 appointments in a row because there groomers both got hurt. I understand about employees being hurt but you always have a back up plan because pet parents pay good money and expect you to keep an appointment. So my husband got a text not even a call saying they were canceling the appointment and that someone would call to reschedule. No one called. I waited no one called. I called 3 days later and talked to manager Ryan who really needs to learn customer service skills. He stated they are down to one groomer. I said I understand that but I had an appointment and no one called to reschedule. I was upset and basically hung up. I called around to find another groomer everyone was booked. I called petco again and once again at their mercy I got Scheduled for Friday 10/23. I got text messages to confirm my appointments. Then I get a call from Ryan on 10/22 at 3:30. He canceled my appointments saying that I cursed him out. I hung up on him upset. When they canceled twice in a row. He stated we have notes that you were rude to the groomers. Not true. Let's play the video of when I came in. I was never rude to the groomer. I have a problem with incompetence and lack of regard. This store will cancel on you after waiting many weeks for an appointment and text you. Not even the consideration of a phone call. I will never use petco again. I ask all my other pet parents that love their dogs and cats to send them a message. Bad customer service is just that bad customer service. read more

My husband and I are new to the Statesboro area and our 9 year old German Shepherd needed grooming and nails trimmed. My dog has been going to a groomer since he was 5 weeks old and never had a negative experience. We trusted Petco would take good care of our dog however that was far from expected. I took my dog out to our vehicle while my husband waited in a very slow line to pay the bill. I noticed my dog was behaving very stressed so attempted to soothe him. While doing so I noticed a substantial amount of blood on the back seat. I took my dog back in Petco and brought it to staff's attention. They were slow in resolving the issue and one employee actually scolded my dog for moving. I asked if I needed to take him to a Vet and was told no. My dog's toe nails look horrific. Some haven't been touched, others look mangled then the bleeding came from those that were cut to the skin. I called the store as soon as I got home with my dog. Asked to speak with the manager, was told I was speaking with the manager and his name is Gerrick Muse. I proceeded to ask if he was the store manager and he stated he was not and that persons name is Kaitlin Thompson however she can't be reached until Saturday or Sunday. I asked for the name of the District Manager and was told that's confidential. I'm not a fool. I worked in the legal system for over 20 years and my husband recently retired from the military of 26 years as a Disabled Combat Veteran. I expressed my obvious concerns to "Gerrick" and he stated I should have requested to speak with a manager so we wouldn't have to pay the bill. I told "Gerrick" my dog was bleeding and in pain therefore the last thing I was thinking about was the bill! It's not about the money, it's about the maltreatment of my dog. I'm horrified by "Gerrick's" lack of empathy and his nonchalant attitude regarding this matter. At one point during our conversation, he actually giggled. I have been seeing to my daughters chihuahua and he needed to be shampooed to help cut back on his hair shedding. When my husband when to pick him up they told him that he would not be allowed to come back because of his behavior when they went to clip his nails. He really does't like for his nails to be trimmed so I do them myself. My husband told the groomer that I had already trimmed his nails and she insisted that she could get the front ones closer than what I had. She said he totally lost it when started trimming them and they put him in one of the cages and he wouldn't come out for them. He would only come out for my husband. She said he did wonderful during the shampooing process. So now he is not allowed to be carried back even for the shampooing and we didn't even want to have his nails clipped because I had already done it. I thought the groomers behavior was rude and unprofessional to my husband. I am very surprised at her behavior....I don't like for my puppy to be mean or unruly. I clip his toenails just for the reason that he does get very nervous and upset when it's being done. I don't know why she felt that, after being told we didn't need it done, she still insisted. I recently moved to Statesboro and was happy to see a Petco in town. I've been a loyal customer in PA, MI, and OH for the past seven years. This grooming salon is by far THE WORST I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED. They're always short staffed meaning it often takes much longer than expected. The groomers are poorly trained so the experience is inconsistent. And the staff turnover is astounding. Do yourself a favor and find a local groomer. Statesboro Petco is a disappointment. read more

The store smells like a dirty hamster cage, it assails your nostrils upon entering. The staff is young and helpful if you can find them. Looking for a shopping cart? Good luck with that - they are nowhere NEAR the entrance. The product selection is excellent, but this is not a pleasant shopping experience.
