I traveled from Providence to NYC. The whole trip I was seated in the back of the bus near the bathroom, which I suppose was very dirty because I had to hold my breath for 3 hours to the smell of piss and shit. At the end of the trip I wanted to ask the driver for some directions and he was very rude and rushed me outside, saying he had to go to the bathroom. Come on, it was a 4 hour travel! My 3 year old kid can hold his piss longer than you. Terrible experience! Never again, I would rather crawl my way from Providence to NYC before stepping a foot on those buses again! read more

Let me start by saying that there is nothing inherently wrong with bus service from Peter Pan. My ride from Providence to NYC was no different (better or worse) than other bus rides I've taken on other carriers (mostly out of Boston). If not for the tale below, it would probably be receiving three or four stars from me. It is also worth noting that the only reason i did not make this my first one-star review was the positive experience while actually on the bus. The trip started out on the complete wrong foot because of what i feel is a huge gap in how they communicate their fares. Like most people would do, i visited their web site prior to my trip, to understand how much it would cost for the trip. I was unable to find a page that displayed the fare, so i just went through as if i was going to purchase a ticket online. When i finally got to a page that displayed a price, i noted the different options (student, standard, and reserved). I noted the 'standard price - around $50, and closed out of the site, figuring i would purchase the ticket at the station. I even thought to check the next day to see if it said anywhere that this was an online-only price (because if that was the case, i would surely buy online to save a few bucks). Imagine my surprise when i went to purchase my ticket at the station before boarding, and was informed that the 'standard' ticket price was over $80 - roughly $30 higher than what i had seen on their site. Asked for an explanation, i was informed that the $50 price on the website was only the internet price. Not wanting to hassle this person (not their fault), i got on the bus and wrote myself a reminder to go back and check if there is any indication on their site that the web fare is different from what you pay at the station. I did that later in the week, spending a fair amount of time looking for ANY indication of a web-only fare. I couldn't find one. Perhaps i'm just significantly less observant, or naive than the average person, but somehow i doubt it. While looking at their site, i noticed they had a 'chat with customer service' button - i thought - "What the heck - i'll give this a try, maybe they can point me to the right page, i can see how dumb i was for not seeing it, and then i can just drop the whole thing." My conversation went like this: Me: is there a page that displays the different fares for different routes? Agent: No, you would select where you are looking to travel to and from Me: right, and i've done that, but it only shows me the e-tickets Agent: Correct, those are tickets that are purchased online Me: right, i want to know how much it will cost if i purchase at the station - where can i find that information? Agent: from where to where? that information is not available online, you would have to call 1-800-343-9999 Me: why isn't it available online? and why doesn't it say anywhere that it is a different price? Agent: Tickets online are discounted [After roughly a minute, the agent ended the conversation without directly responding to my last question] You can draw a few conclusions from this conversation - the one i choose to draw is that Peter Pan has no interest in being transparent about the pricing differential between online and in-station fares. All it would take is a one-liner at the bottom of their ordering screen - it's really not that much effort. read more

Missed my bus by a couple mins due to traffic on the highway, so I called called costumer service so they could move me up to the the next bus, but costumer service refused to reschedule my fare of even refund my money. I had a ticket for two which cost around 110 dollars I had to call my bank to settle the issue. What type of nonsense, I blame Donald Trump read more

I just completed a round trip from PVD to NYC. I was a bit freaked out by the slew of bad reviews. Fortunately, I had no problems at all. The buses were clean and the drivers congenial. I'm giving four stars because they departed and arrived exactly on time with no inconveniences. The internet didn't really work, but it never really does in group situations w folks streaming Netflix. Also, there's a head's up at the parking booth when u enter that clearly states they accept cash/check only. read more

Memorial Day in Martha's Vineyard and was sad to leave the island but was hoping for a smooth day. Got to Wood's Hole late for the bus which we purchased tickets for online. Called customer service to see if we can board the next bus with our tickets but was refused. I tried to see if there was anything they could do for a veteran on a fixed-income on a holiday dedicated to fellow servicemembers who died protecting this country's freedom, but alas, the representative flat-out said no. Almost bought tickets online but decided to just get the tickets at the Wood's Hole Steamship Authority's terminal to skip the online fee. The cashier said the tickets purchased at the terminal are general tickets that can be used at any time of the day. So I can't use the tickets I got online but if I bought the tickets at the terminal, I can use them anytime. Makes perfect sense... Thank you Peter Pan bus for caring about veterans. read more

This is on of the most unprofessionally run companies I've ever experienced in my adult life. Bought a ticket at 9:00 today for my daughter going back to Boston on the Bourne to Boston bus. The bus showed up 45 minutes late and my daughter was told there were no seats left on the bus. After a 15 minute wait on hold I got a representative sitting at a call center who said I would hear from a supervisor in 7-10 days. The same goes for filing a refund request. Really? How does a company specializing in logistics and moving people from location to location not know they've oversold the bus? Impossible. Had my daughter needed to make a flight she would have missed it and lost her airfare not to mention the cost of purchasing another ticket likely at two or three times the cost for the emergency fare price. This company couldn't care less. Avoid them at all cost. read more

Wish there was more service from and to NYC with other buses and more later stops on other services. People on the bus are nicer but the price is definitely higher and Peter Pan corp has bad customer service. We had a mix up with a ticket and got a terrible run around, got stuck talking to some woman who was supposed to be a supervisor called Caroline P. who was no help at all and basically flat out denied us help and wouldn't transfer us to a manager who could do anything for us. I swear customer service is so bad these days. I'll be writing to the corporate office as well because if you make a mistake you should help the customer correct it not have them pay an extra $20 dollars because you screwed up. The bus terminal is clean, the buses leave on schedule, and the staff is courteous. The main terminal (the building closes at 8:30) is a pleasant alternative to Kennedy Plaza, which turns into Skid Row after sundown. The only downside is the lack of accessibility by public transportation. The student rate for a roundtrip ticket from Providence to New York City is only $30. Whenever it is feasible, I will travel with Peter Pan Bus Lines. read more

I went to Peter Pan and not only are they the only company (probably in the world) that makes you print out your ticket still, but they advertised 20$ ticket on website to purchase, but my printers not working so I figured I could get the ticket at the ticket window. When I get to the ticket window the guy says 42$, twice as much! Talk about a convenience fee haha, I wanted to ask if he was a lunatic! How does it go from 20-40$? I could see 5$ extra 10-$ most for this kind of thing, but let's be real who needs Peter Pan bus when Go Bus and Mega Bus are right next to it ? What you need to know before going from Boston to Woods Hole: *Buy your tickets on line but before you print it out, triple check that you have the correct time and date. Their site is poorly designed an error will cost you dearly. The line at South Station can be long and often unattended. And often rude. *Get to South Station at least a half hour before departure time and GET IN LINE. You think having a ticket gets you a seat? HA. The bus arrives with passages from Logan and there is no guarantee you'll get on the bus. Especially on a Friday afternoon. I've had it happen to me. *Peter Pan's South Station to Woods Hole schedule is pure fantasy. No one in the history of the Commonwealth has left South Station at 4:00pm and made it to Woods Hole in 1 hour and 45 mins. Prepare to be on the bus for at least 2 hours. And then miss your ferry.... *Although most of your fellow passages are going to Woods Hole to catch a ferry, Peter Pan has devised a schedule guaranteed to arrive just after your ferry has sailed. The idea of creating a schedule that matches, in any way, the Steamship schedule seems to be beyond Peter Pan and have for all the years I've put up with it. The slightest competition or lower fares on Cape Air would run them out of business, but alas they're Peter Pan and never grow up or get smart read more

I've taken the Peter Pan bus from Providence to Boston/Logan twice now. It was $20, got me there within 10 minutes of when it was scheduled to, and the staff was nice. If you don't want to deal with taking the T up through south station and then to the airport this is the way to go. Clean buses, safe drivers, and on time departures/arrivals - I'll definitely use them again. read more

I have taken Peter Pan bus over 40 times in the past year and a half. I take Peter Pan bus at least once a month from Providence to NYC then NYC to Providence. The bus is very convenient and goes straight into Port Authority bus Terminal. The tickets are fairly cheap if you buy them online. Recently I have been paying $ 40 round trip but only a couple of months ago it was $ 30 round trip but with gas prices at over $4.00 a gallon the price increase is understandable. The bus drivers are very friendly and they load up the buses quick so they can get on to the journey. Okay so I do have some complaints. 1) The bus is usually never on time 2) There is no organized line to get on the bus so there is a big cluster of people pushing and shoving 3) The bus is nice and toasty when you get on and then half way through the trip the bus gets freezing. Overall I have had positive experiences on Peter Pan and will continue to use it as my bus service. read more

Booked bus online from Bourne to NYC Thursday to Sunday. Cost $105 rt. Bus arrived on time in Bourne, made stops in new Bedford, Fall River and Providence. Stayed in Providence 1/2 hour. No bus change so no worries of luggage. On time and drivers pleasant. Bus not crowded. Seatbelt a pain but my tush is bigger than it should be. There is an electrical outlet to meet phone charged. Will travel this way again and recommend it. read more

this bus trip gets no stars, in fact they own stars. I purchased an online rt ticket from their terminal to logan several weeks before my flights. I even went to the terminal to speak to the people there to make sure that the driver knew he had a passenger for the 10:30 pm bus. No problem they said. I was at the terminal waiting at 10:30pm and the bus finally arrived at 10;40pm. He pulled and then left. Of course when I contacted customer service there was no one there. I had to call someone to come and get me from RI at 11:30pm. this is the sec ond and last time I will use Peter Pan Bus. their customer service is a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

On a recent trip to Boston and Rhode Island we needed inexpensive transportation and found Peter Pan Bus Lines. They picked us up at Boston Logan and dropped us off in Providence. Booking the tickets was quite easy on their website and was much cheaper than renting a car. The only bummer was their pickup times required us to wait at the airport for an hour and a half for our bus. I wish they ran buses on the hour so that we could have maximized our day. The best part was the pickup was right outside baggage claim so we didn't have to trek far with tons of bag. The buses were clean (except the bathroom was a bit scary) and the driver was pretty friendly on our first leg. They were a bit late picking us up at the airport which caused our arrival to be delayed by about 20 minutes. This wasn't a big deal since we had family picking us up, but some customers almost missed their connections. All in all it was a good experience and I would use them again in the future. read more

PVD -- BOS. In off hours it can be faster than the train. or it can make strange detours and random stops at parking lots in attleboro. It's almost always a bit more expensive than MBTA commuter rail, and can even be more expensive than amtrak depending on when you book. It's more convenient, I guess, for getting to logan, but it will cost you $10-15 more just to avoid changing to the silver line at south station (and the total time is about the same). But the amazing thing is this: in 2015, this company requires you to PRINT OUT a ticket. For a BUS. Even the MBTA commuter rail has had a ticket app for 2 or so years at this point. The stone-age mentality is actually the biggest reason not to bother with Peter Pan. read more

I had no problems with the actual bus ride; but this Providence station, never anything special, has deteriorated dramatically in the several years since I was last here. Broken or missing chairs in the waiting area. Nowhere to get food or water. Marginally clean bathrooms. Even the Peter Pan history displays are a disordered mess. No one in there cares about the condition of the terminal. But you can get lottery tickets!! At least the air conditioning worked, but I don't think I'd want to go through there in the winter. read more

If I could give Peter Pan zero stars, I would. In the last 3 years, on multiple occasions and different days of the week, I've tried to take the bus from various Cape Cod locations (Bourne & Falmouth) to Logan. But the bus has either showed up late and full of passengers or didn't even bother to stop at the pick up location. Some pick up locations aren't bus stops, so the person that sells the tickets doesn't know anything about the status of the bus. 75% of the time, we've had to forgo the $40 ticket/person and drive up to Logan. Most recently, we waited 1 hour for the bus (which was 15 minutes late) only to find out that the bus was full and not taking additional passengers. Oh yes, another bus was on the way, but the driver was not sure when the next bus would arrive. You guessed it, another $40 ticket wasted and another drive to Logan. All I can say is I will never, never, ever take a Peter Pan bus again. And for those who will take the risk, be prepared to waste your money on a ticket for a bus that doesn't have an available seat and have a Plan B to get to your destination. And heaven help you if you have to make a connection at your intended destination... Hands down, Peter Pan has CONSISTENTLY been THE WORST travel service I've ever experienced. read more

I needed to get a ride from the Bourne Bridge to Logan to catch a flight for the work week on a Sunday. The bus, comes from Woods Hole which they conveniently oversold the bus and left me in gas station parking lot to find my own way. I missed my flight. Still working on the refund. Could not think of a worse experience and a terrible business model. I will never use them again. They are on the same level as United and all the other airlines that oversell their service. I have been traveling back and forth from Providence to New York regularly to both visit my girlfriend and work on the weekends. I happened to leave my wallet on the bus on a Friday and did not realize I lost my wallet until the next day; I did not even know I left it on the bus. On Monday I received a facebook message from someone saying their dad had found my wallet on the bus. The bus driver, Joe Lemos, found my wallet and found a way to return it to me. I cannot thank him enough for the kindness and honesty. All my cards, and money were still in my wallet and he returned it just as I had left it. I booked a trip to NYC and back and it was awful experience. Afterwards I attempted to reach out to their customer service and was blatantly ignored. No team member ever bothered to get back to me. The return bus arrived more than an hour late at port authority which would have been understandable if there had been any form of communication. We boarded a bus that the driver seemed confused by the hordes of people wishing to board. After a long boarding process the driver begins the trip back to providence. The only issue is the bus driver gets lost, pulls over on the side of a busy highway off-ramp to ask someone directions to the correct highway unsuccessfully. He then drives the bus down through the bronx, river dale and the Yonkers before finally correcting himself onto the correct highway. (When your job is to drive a bus between NYC and Providence you should know the way.)His driving ability was sub par making sudden jolts and stops and didn't appear to be professional. We ended up getting back at 1AM. The real insult was the lack of action or response from the customer care of Peter Pan. Horrible company, highly recommend Amtrak or Greyhound. There was no apology or redemption for this sub par service which is inexcusable. read more

This is how pissed I am. Rather than finishing a book I've now decided to use 3 hours and on-board WiFi to take my time to write this review. Today quite a few people had at least the latter half of their day ruined by the incompetence of the Peter Pan ticket booking dept. I, along with many others booked a (apparently super popular) bus from NY to PVD. Not at one point did it say that the bus was sold out as this would have been PERFECTLY FINE and I would have just bought another ticket for a later bus. Because they chose to NOT DO THAT and instead turn half a bus full of people away at the door only for them to wait TWO+ F&%#ING HOURS only for the same thing to happen. This is absurd. I had to leave my date early to try to make the bus. We were LIED TO (The bus attendant said another bus was coming shortly to pick up the overflow) only to wait for literally the next coming bus. If the site had just said SOLD OUT I would have happily bought a later ticket and just... did other things. Instead, you hijacked two plus hours of mine and half-a-bus-full of other peoples time. You're inconsiderate af and suck because rather than lying and dealing with a line of incredibly pissed off people you could've just said SOLD OUT and allowed people to take personal responsibility for not booking their tickets sooner. THE Worst customer service I have ever experienced! Traveled on a busy summer holiday weekend from Woods Hole to Providence & they added a bus to accommodate the demand, which was good, BUT the driver had no idea where he was going! He repeatedly got lost, never called for support. It took him hours to get off the Cape and there was no traffic. He just drove around trying to find highway and when he did he headed to Boston (north) not West to Providence. Passengers finally gave him directions from their phones. Meantime I called the company customer service (and the depots in RI) and they had no idea! I had to give them the location of the bus lost in Fall RIver (thanks to GPS). The bus arrived 3 hours late. The worst part was the there WAS NO APOLOGY from the bus company. I wrote to them and they did not respond. I had to rush to get the bus passenger to the airport & barely made it While to customer service receptionist on the phone was helpful the management is disgraceful! read more

This company left me and several other passengers out in the cold early in December. The bus drove right to the parking lot did not stop for us even though we are waving our arms. The company then proceeded to refused to refund her fares even though we had to spend three times the amount on cabs and trains to try to get to our destination. Scam alert!!! read more

I don't know why they moved it from Kennedy plaza to the conventional center. It was my first time taking the bus there and I was supposed to go to Hartford, so I was waiting for a HARTFORD CT bus, but I was supposed to take a Boston bus so I can go to CT. If they had told me that, it would be alright, but I had no idea that I was supposed to take the Boston bus. So when I was about to ask a bus driver (Providence-NY 5/18 at 11:15 AM) he was rude and he didn't even let me finish my question. So I had to go back to the ticket place and the guy was nice enough to change my ticket for me. And I was trying to call a uber so I could go to the bus terminal and take the direct bus to CT but they wouldn't help me with wifi so I had to pay a taxi $21.00 in order to go to the bus terminal. Worst service I ever experienced. Never going to the conventional center to take buses anymore. read more

Additionally, the passengers had lined up in an orderly fashion by the bus stop until one of the Peter Pan bus drivers moved everybody into a completely inchoate clusterf*** mob. You have to be kidding me. I'm from CA visiting family in RI. I went to their site for schedule info and it says we're sorry call 1-800-343-9999 or email customer support. I call the 800 #; guess what customer service is closed. It was 10:20pm; no website for schedule info and no 800# customer service. I went through several phone prompts hoping that I'd hear schedule info all I got was, "please visit our website", which was down. Come Peter Pan/Bonanza you have to do better than this. One other point, their site isn't that hot either. I won't go into all of that as I have to text my friend who is in CA coming to Providence tomorrow morning (red eye from CA) and let them know that Peter Pan is sleeping and not available right now to provide schedule info. read more

This bus company was forty five minutes late to the station in Falmouth, Cape Cod. At the first stop the bus drier got out and did not return for thirty minutes. I was on my way to the airport. For these reasons plus a little traffic I had to call my airline and change my flight time to a later time. This cost e an extra fifty dollars. I will never be using this bus company again. read more
