First of all, I want to say that the…read morewaiting room in Dr. Patel's office is very small, and if four people come, it's impossible to sit and wait for your appointment. You can hardly breathe. I asked to turn on the air conditioning so I could breathe. There are two women at the reception desk and they are very unhappy when you ask them questions. They look at you in such a way that you feel guilty. In the doctor's office, all the doors are open, both to the examination rooms and to his office. That is, you can easily hear everything while sitting in the waiting room. When I was called to see the doctor, I was taken to the examination room, one of the women at the reception came, took my blood pressure and told me to wait. I waited another 15 minutes. After that, I was invited into Dr. Patel's office; he himself came and invited me. I didn't even understand why I went to his office, but I went. The chair was opposite his desk. He started reading me questions about my vaccinations. Did I get this shot, did I get that shot, etc. The door to his office was open, so the people waiting in the room could hear all my answers. I asked why he was asking me about every vaccination. Wouldn't it be easier to give a form to new patients, like they do everywhere, and I could answer all the questions while waiting for my appointment, and no one would hear my personal medical information. After all, there's HIPPA. I got the impression he didn't like my question. He raised his voice at me and yelled that this is how he works and that things won't go that way if I keep asking questions. I could tell he hated me as a patient. He started asking why I came to him and said since I'll have different insurance starting in the new year, I should go to my doctor and let him treat me. My blood pressure was 132... I asked him to give me something for it, to advise, since my blood pressure fluctuates a lot and can be high. To which he replied that my blood pressure is normal... I asked for an electrocardiogram, to which he told me that it would be expensive... well, it was $200, maybe less. He also refused. When this horror with questions in his office ended, he told me to go to the examination room. I went in and sat down to wait for him. He came rudely, listened to me for a minute, no more, and left. I felt like I had come to the prosecutor, not the doctor. I felt some kind of terrible shame when I left the examination room. All the waiting patients looked at me, as if I had done something terrible. My son was the day before. There was also a terrible survey in his office, then the doctor had not yet finished chatting with his patient before my son's appointment. And when he finished his conversation, he came into the examination room where my son was sitting, and not even a minute had passed before the doctor finished the examination. My son wanted to ask questions, but the doctor had already left. I don't recommend anyone go to this terrible doctor. I didn't feel Dr. Patel was professional towards me as a patient. He wrote a referral for a blood test, but my son and I didn't do it because we don't want to deal with such a terrible doctor anymore

I will start out positively by saying that I LOVE the Doctors/nurses/and most staff of this office…read more(especially Tasheen Silva!) My incredibly irritating problem is specifically with the insurance coordinator, Cecilia (Cecile?). I have been a patient In that office for over 23 years. She consistently waits until the 11th hour to get approval for a procedure the next day. This is unacceptable, on every level! This causes extra stress for the patient, who already worrying about a surgical procedure! And what about the times she makes mistakes? The last two surgical procedures that I had scheduled, she not only was late, but then messed up paperwork, as well! To add insult to injury, last month, she wasn't even working the day when my case needed immediate action! Supposedly, nobody else in the office could figure out how to do her job?!? Does anybody actually know? My one surgeon's office says they have never encountered somebody who outwardly demonstrates complete and total disregard about patients' welfare. Furthermore, certain doctor's offices say that it's the NORM when trying to get anything approved through Cecilia. If this has happened to me no less than 3 to 4 times, it begs the question, how many hundreds of mistakes is she making per year? I hate to leave this bad review because I do enjoy the office and the doctors, but maybe it'll FINALLY spur the office manager into action. Having surgical procedures is stressful enough without having to worry about the insurance nuances. Thank God my surgeon has a competent and patient staff to do THEIR best to get it taken care of under the wire (read: Do Cecilia's job). In what world is this ok? I've complained a few times in office, buy I have yet to see any changes. I really wish the office manager would find out why she is incapable of doing her job in an efficient and timely manner, or hire somebody that can. It's one thing if a person makes a mistake but a complete other if they're not willing to learn how to do their job properly.
