From the moment, I contacted the office, I felt "taken care of." I got an email from Diana Fazinna with required forms to complete that addressed my specific issues. The office manager, Antoinette Taamu, who had fit me in on a cancellation, made me a hot cup of tea as I waited for my appointment time. John Vincent Enverga, the physician's assistant, worked carefully and slowly to remove wax and boric acid build-up, from a recent botched ENT experience. He noted a middle or inner ear infection. The office was state of the art and you could see what John was doing up on the screen. He made me feel comfortable and relaxed even though I was extremely distressed. In consultation with Dr. Yu, he ordered a CT scan that very day, where a number of problems were identified. The doctor set a treatment plan including targeted antibiotics and olive oil to sooth my tender ears. Now, the next morning, I am feeling so much better. I feel the swelling in my ear reducing and I know that I am in good hands and on the mend. Words cannot express how grateful I am that these health care professionals really care and take care of sick patients. I am beyond grateful. Thank you very much.

However, listen to me carefully: absolutely insist on having the procedure done in a hospital or surgical setting under anesthesia. She gave me plenty of medication, but for me, it simply wasn't enough. The procedure was incredibly painful, and with all the medication in my system, I ended up in the ER afterward, violently ill. That being said, I would still recommend the procedure because the results have been amazing and I feel so much better. I would just strongly recommend discussing anesthesia and pain-management options with your doctor beforehand.

They are familiar with MARCONS and fungal issues, while most ENTs are not. John and Dr. Yu were wonderful and very thorough - I felt no pain at all during the scopes even though they don't use anesthetic (whereas I almost died when I did one at another clinic). They even have huge TV screens so you can see what's going on in your ears and throat in realtime lol. Nurses and staff are great, too! Another bonus is their on-site Xoran mini CT scan machine. I was able to get a CT of my sinuses right then and there, with reduced radiation exposure. They checked my ear pressure as well. Thanks!

A friend referred me to this office, where I was initially seen by PA Claudine Magtoto in June. After reviewing my scans, which showed almost no sinus opening, they recommended a balloon sinuplasty to help improve my drainage. The process was seamless from start to finish. Scheduling the procedure was incredibly easy and on the day of the appointment, everything went as smoothly as possible. Both the front office staff and Dr. Furze were very thorough. Since having the procedure done, I haven't had a single sinus issue. If you are struggling with ongoing sinus or allergy problems, this is definitely the place to go!

Surgery went well, or so I thought, and was able to breathe fine until January 2025 when it all came back and it was as if I never went through it all. After waiting all of 2025 to try and set up an appointment to resolve my issues, I took matters into my own hand and went to a plastic surgeon who recommended a doctor at Hoag. Although I wasn't able to book a consultation with that doctor, the Hoag website advertised Dr. Furze, and the rest was history. I'm incredibly grateful for him and his team, shoutout to Claudine, because they made the whole process seamless. Claudine, his PA, was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. They examined me and let me know what the issue was and how they would differ from my last surgery in an attempt to fix it. It's been 5 months since my surgery and I'm breathing great. I do appreciate they did a mini nose job, because I explained to them that if i positioned my nose a certain way, it opened up my nasal passage. Anyway, I would recommend his practice to anyone. At least for me, the main thing I look for in a medical practice is their ability to relate to a patient or make a patient feel comfortable, and everyone on his staff is super affable.

I have seen at least 5 ENT doctors before so I've gotten fairly good at catching ENT red flags and…read morethis practice has by far more red flags than almost any other practice I've been to. Here's what I've observed so far over a course of 3 months: 1) I was first referred by my PCP in March and couldn't get an appointment til April. Long wait for appointments, sure ok. Minimal wait time in the waiting room tho so that's good. 2) Most of the time you call during normal business hours, no one picks up. Supposedly they are only closed for lunch from 12-1 but it would take me days of calling at 10am and 2pm to reach someone. 3) Over the last 3 months, I was only ever scheduled with the PA, Phillip. He was PHENOMENAL, helpful, kind, and a huge reason I kept coming back. He was so considerate he even made sure i got in quick so I wouldn't get charged for parking. Guess what? By my 4th visit he was "no longer with the practice". I hope he quit bc if they let him go that's pretty a bad business move on their part lol 4) The two girls at the front desk are ok but Miryam the Surgery scheduler is incredibly rude. I had been open about needing my surgery to be treated with urgency bc I wasn't sure how long I'd still be eligible for insurance. They wouldn't even schedule me until my insurance approved everything so I had to wait weeks to even schedule. Ok fine. But when my insurance actually approved the surgery she kept saying it didn't. She even had the audacity to try to blame/gaslight me and say she didn't send the referral for it earlier bc I was "confused about my insurance". I wasn't confused I just didn't know how long I'd still be eligible for! She never even made an attempt to try to schedule me even before I told her about my insurance. So I filed a complaint with my insurance for negligence and refusal of care and ALL OF A SUDDEN I'm getting contacted multiple times over the course of days (by text) saying that I was approved and there were several surgery appointments available for me to take, appointments that were even sooner than what they had told me before. I'm calling BS on that. It seriously got to a point where I had to ask her "Do you guys even want to do this surgery?" Bc it felt like I had to force them to want to take my business bc they kept pushing my appointments far out and giving me the run around 5) Mind you after 3 months and multiple appointments I haven't even seen or MET Dr. Vakkalanka at this point and she's the one who I'm supposed to trust to operate on my unconscious body and conduct a complex revision septoplasty with turbinate reduction ?? Not even her coming in to say hi hello for two seconds. Extremely scary concept to wrap my mind around. 5) This Yelp page claims they have onsite CT imaging and they do NOT, they sent me to an imaging center for that procedure. That could've been due to my insurance but it's worth mentioning. 6) Did I mention the parking isn't even free after 20 minutes so appointments are rushed to accommodate this? To put into context how poor the service here was, I contacted another ENT to take my business to and I already have an appointment scheduled in 4 days. I had my primary surgery in 2020 that apparently didn't permanently fix my deviated septum in my right nostril or enlarged turbinates blocking my left nostril and these issues have worsened over the years and every day I am abusing Vicks inhalers and Vapo Rub just to get through the day. I can only sleep on my left side but really I have no airflow through either side and I have valve collapse. And I could've been getting help sooner and breathing again but I was trying to be patient and understanding and give the benefit of doubt. Don't waste your time and energy like I did, it's not worth it!

Hopefully they stay can compose the same mannerism even when they are having bad days or busy days. Those are the days that counts the most to customers. The first visit fee was understandable. First time patient and cash only. I get that the cost is high. I shopped around and his was fair. I feel the couple other follow up visits could be a lot less. There's a reason why people are cash patients. They cant afford insurance. Charging them a day and a half of work (considering they work minimum wage) for any follow up visit is beyond me. On top of that i have to buy the meds at a pharmacy. Every follow up I had was less than 10 min. I get we are paying for the doctor's expertise and mainly his medical equipment but cmon. I gave the place 5 stars mainly for courtesy, professionism, and genuine care. The doctor explain to me the cause, symptoms and treatment. Checked my nares and told me they were inflammed causing the ear fluid to back up in the ear (where no q tip or ear removal equipment could reach). Took 3 diff meds and a few follow up to have my left ear back to normal. The doctor is good at what he does. I recommend him. Follow up pricing could be more friendly to cash patients.

Then, one day after my appointment, I called the office because my ear was still completely blocked and I wanted to know if I needed to come back and pay for another consultation. That is not the way patients should be treated. From the moment I walked out of that office, I already knew it was not the right place. I hope this helps others make a more informed decision and look for better options.
