I can't recommend Dr. Alexis Furze and his team enough! I've suffered from chronic sinus infections and severe allergies my entire life. A friend referred me to this office, where I was initially seen by PA Claudine Magtoto in June. After reviewing my scans, which showed almost no sinus opening, they recommended a balloon sinuplasty to help improve my drainage. The process was seamless from start to finish. Scheduling the procedure was incredibly easy and on the day of the appointment, everything went as smoothly as possible. Both the front office staff and Dr. Furze were very thorough. Since having the procedure done, I haven't had a single sinus issue. If you are struggling with ongoing sinus or allergy problems, this is definitely the place to go! read more

Nothing short of incredible. I have the worst allergies and through Kaiser, I had a septoplasty and turbinate reduction back in 2022. Surgery went well, or so I thought, and was able to breathe fine until January 2025 when it all came back and it was as if I never went through it all. After waiting all of 2025 to try and set up an appointment to resolve my issues, I took matters into my own hand and went to a plastic surgeon who recommended a doctor at Hoag. Although I wasn't able to book a consultation with that doctor, the Hoag website advertised Dr. Furze, and the rest was history. I'm incredibly grateful for him and his team, shoutout to Claudine, because they made the whole process seamless. Claudine, his PA, was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. They examined me and let me know what the issue was and how they would differ from my last surgery in an attempt to fix it. It's been 5 months since my surgery and I'm breathing great. I do appreciate they did a mini nose job, because I explained to them that if i positioned my nose a certain way, it opened up my nasal passage. Anyway, I would recommend his practice to anyone. Had a septoplasty to improve breathing in 2017.. including turbinate reduction and nasal valve implant. I continue to have breathing issues and my nose is deformed!!! I need a rhino to fix these issues caused by the implant. Of course insurance won't pay to fix it. I wonder if my nose was purposefully messed up to get me to come back to pay for a rhino down the line. I went back a few times after voicing my concerns, but I was told that "your nose is perfectly straight inside." It's actually not. The root of my problem was never fixed... I still have serious deviation issues in my nose among other problems that were never addressed properly. I also have a hump on one side of my nose from this nasal implant. Ughhh. So frustrating. Also, what they failed to inform me is, during a septoplasty, they remove the septum cartilage (not straightening it). And if you ever need a rhinoplasty, they use your septum cartilage to form your new nose. Well, since my septum has now been removed, they either have to harvest rib cartilage or use cadaver cartilage in a functional rhinoplasty to fix my current issues caused by this surgeon. At age 69, I finally decided to inquire about medical and cosmetic rhinoplasty to help clear my nasal passages, improve my breathing and improve my appearance. I was having some difficulty breathing through my nose during exercise and while sleeping. There was also a boney knot on the bridge (dorsal portion) of my nose partly caused by injuries during high school sports. It was not attractive and a constant source of self-consciousness. Originally, I visited a plastic surgeon in Orange CA that my daughter had recommended, but he was not performing the specific type of surgery I needed so he referred me to Dr. Furze who he had worked with in the past. I made an appointment and talked to Dr. Furze to discuss my issues and get his concurrence on whether he could help me. It turns out this is exactly the type of surgery he performs. Dr. Furze performed a CT scan and found I had a deviated septum as well as nasal obstructions. He explained the surgery he would perform and what to expect from both the medical and cosmetic procedures. He was planning to perform an internal rhinoplasty surgery meaning all incisions would be on the inside of my nose and he would use a piezoelectric tool to cut and shape the bone. He also noticed that my upper eyelids were sagging quite a lot and drooping over my eyelashes to the point that my vision was somewhat obstructed. He mentioned that, if I wanted, he could correct that issue as well by removing and tightening the skin in that area at the same time. After some thought I decided to have that done as well. Post op I was fairly uncomfortable for about 5 days. There were both external and internal nose splints. Dr. Furze prescribed pain medication, but it made me feel anxious after just one day so I discontinued taking it. There was a lot of bruising which took almost a month to clear completely, but I felt comfortable going back to work in under 3 weeks. I did follow the daily nasal cleansing instructions which I believe helped prevent any complications. At the second post op visit (less than 2 weeks) my stitches and bandages were removed and the results were amazing! Dr. Furze did an exam and was very happy with the results as well. My upper eyelids were noticeably better, I looked less tired. After several months when all the swelling had subsided, my breathing during exercise and sleep were significantly improved. My nose was much straighter and looked much better. I did notice, however, that the upper part of my nasal bone had a couple spots that I felt could be straightened a bit more. I discussed this with Dr. Furze and he explained that he is very careful during surgery to do everything necessary to achieve the desired results, but is also very careful not to go too far. He also explained that it's difficult to know exactly what the final appearance will be due to the unique way each person's body heals. There are many factors involved with how the body responds to the disturbance of bone, cartilage and connective tissues. Because Dr. Furze is very interested in the best possible results for each patient, he offered to perform a revision surgery. At that point I also asked him about performing a blepharoplasty to smooth the bags under my eyes. This is another surgery that Dr. Furze regularly performs. He has developed a unique way to lift the septum and connective tissues under the eyes along with a fat transfer to build up and smooth out the cheek under the eyes. The staff arranged for a second surgery for both the revision rhinoplasty and blepharoplasty. They also worked with insurance for financial coverage. The second surgery was performed and it helped tremendously. My nose is very straight and the bags under my eyes are nearly gone. The lower eye lid blepharoplasty was a bit of a challenge for Dr. Furze because I'm quite thin and had very little fat for the transfer to my face. However, he was able to obtain enough fat from my upper legs to fill in and smooth the cheeks under my eyes. He did a great job and I'm very happy with the results. It's been a big confidence builder for me. Dr. Furze is very conscientious and dedicated to his profession. He is very personable; he will take the time to answer all of your questions and is honest about what to expect. Above all he will do everything he can to make sure you get the best results possible. During the last two years as a patient of Dr. Furze I have learned a lot about his dedication to the practice and skill in performing this type of surgery. Hello. I was very much looking forward to meeting for a consultation to schedule a possible surgery. I have had a very difficult time with your front desk. The standard of patient care is just not there. I was supposed to receive a link for a zoom prior to the meeting. I did not receive one and was standing by my email waiting for it for the meeting to start. Eventually since it was past the time I looked at my phone (I presumed they were running behind) to have a missed call. I was told my appointment had been cancelled in a very accusatory manner and that a link had been sent. I told the receptionist I did not have a link and asked her to please forward it if it was sent. She couldn't do this for some reason, and I didn't feel comfortable with her tone or attitude. I don't think that level of customer service is appropriate for retail, let alone a plastic surgeons office and would recommend she have more training. I asked to speak to a manager and she said they were not available but could call me back. It has now been over a week and I never received any call back which says a lot about the quality of patient care. I waited many weeks for my appointment and have chronic sinusitis which is agonizing and was looking for someone who could finally help me. I am overall very discouraged. read more

The place is a total SCAM. 3 "appointments", and never spoke with the Dr. Terrible service and outrageous charges. First issue I have there was no contact or conversation with the actual Dr. Only the initial visit was in person but the PA handled it. The next appointment was via zoom with the PA, which they forgot to send me the link. Finally got it scheduled, and with the PA, just for Q&A. When I called in for a follow up question, I was told I had to make a 3rd appointment so they scheduled me for another zoom meeting. Now I know why- got a bill in the mail- They charge $360 for each virtual zoom appointment, $545 for the in person appointment, and NOT once did I speak to a Dr. read more

Dr. Furze has the best bedside banner of any surgeon I've ever met. I came to him complaining of facial pain which turned out to be from TMJ, and in the process discovered anatomical issues causing my poor breathing and reoccurring sinus infections. He was honest and upfront that he wouldn't be able to relieve the facial pain due to TMJ and I really appreciated his honesty. I NEVER once felt pressured by him or his staff to opt for surgery. He genuinely cared about me as a patient, and after surgery he answered panicked phone calls multiple times in the middle of the night when my pain meds didn't work, which wasn't his fault. His staff, especially Lorena, are so on top of things, and worked with me via email when I couldn't call due to my work schedule. This place is a scam. This is a fraudulent business out for nothing but your money. I never even saw a doctor, I saw a medical assistant. I had an initial tele-health visit and was told to come in for an in-office visit for their basic, standard screenings. I was assured by both the front desk and the medical assistant (multiple times!) that they were all "standard" procedures, all covered by insurance and I wouldn't owe anything but my co-pay which I'd already paid in full. The screenings proved to be unhelpful, I never saw an actual doctor, and I later received 3 different bills, each more expensive than the last -- First for my co-pay which I'd already paid, then for an endoscopy which I didn't even have, and finally for a CT scan. So incredibly dishonest. If you are looking for answers and more than a large, surprise bill, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. read more

After I had an accident in the summer in which I incurred a huge contusion on my nose, I received referrals from all of my community on my InstaGram for the most respected plastic surgeons in Los Angeles and Orange County. Having been a model and on-camera host for 30 years, and still doing some modeling as a mature woman, I was extremely anxious and particular in vetting whom I would trust to fix my nose, and after researching many surgeons' Before-and-Afters and determining that Dr. Furze was a nose-specialist - double board certified in facial plastic surgery and ENT, as well as the department Chair of ENT at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach - with exceptional artistry, known for perfectionist care, I knew he was the surgeon I would trust with restoring my nose. Because I had a collapsed right nasal passage, a septum so deviated that it looked like Harry Potter's lightning bolt scar on the PET-scans, and a grape-sized polyp inside my sinus cavity, I knew my nasal/septum/sinus surgery was a very tricky prospect: I had fractured it once before - snow-skiing - and had had two subsequent corrective surgeries. Because my nasal bones had been fractured so many times, Dr. Furze assured me that a conservative, minimally-invasive closed surgery would be best practices in my case, and he did not even need to reposition my nasal bones. Dr. Furze explained every aspect of my surgery to me in detail, making sure I was comfortable and had all my concerns and questions responded to. I had to wait eleven months for the surgery because I am in graduate school and can't take time off during the school year to have surgery, so I was finally able to have surgery this past June of 2022. At my first post-op appointment - six days after the surgery - Dr. Furze removed the tape and the silicone septum splints and I looked in the mirror and almost cried!! My nose was straight and symmetrical and I could breathe!! I included a photo of that day, six days post-surgery, and you can see small superficial skin wounds on the dorsum of my nose from the septum sutures which came through the surface of the skin; these little scabs healed within a few weeks but at the time, I didn't even care about them because I was so so elated with the symmetry of my nose which I haven't had since my skiing accident when I was 13 years old!! I am so so grateful to Dr. Furze and his entire staff for caring for me so well and making what could potentially have been a very stressful surgery as smooth as possible, with an outcome I couldn't be happier with. If you have ANY need for nasal surgery, don't go to just any plastic surgeon who does the whole gamut; go to the specialist whose expertise is the nose and works only on noses day in and day out to the point where he is now a fine-tuned artist. After I called them at the time of my appointment asking for the zoom link they informed me the appointment was canceled and can't see me till the next day. I had my Septoplasty on November 9 2018, had two broken bones. Although, there is of course lots of swelling, my nose is straight and my breathing is incredible. Dr Alexis and his assistant are simply amazing. Had my 3 follow ups and everything is looking great. Update: Most of the swelling is gone, there is a bit of swelling still on the tip of the nose and is still a bit sensitive there. But it is getting better and better as time goes by. read more

This doctor and his PA are the best in the business. I had a septoplasty done in 2006 and my septum ended up deviating back over the years, blocking off 90% of my right nostril. Fast forward to 2020, I got really sick from a neti pot and resulted in multiple antibiotics and another sinus surgery in 2021 that didn't fix any issue. My right nostril was still blocked and ENTs were afraid to operate on it due to the lack of cartilage. The PA at Dr. Furze figured out that the reoccurring issues I was having was due to inadequate airflow and had the right techniques to restructure my nose. About 7 years ago I had an incident where I fell directly on my face and broke my nose. This caused me to have a deviated septum which was left untreated for years. This greatly impacted the quality of my breathing as I could only breathe properly out of my right nostril and when blowing my nose it was extremely challenging to blow out of the left nostril. It also made a whistling noise when I slept and was overall a huge inconvenience. Upon meeting with Dr. Furze, he went over with me how he planned to fix my nose and carefully went over the procedure with me in detail. He took photos throughout the whole process and initially showed me the "projection photos" of what he believed my new nose would look like. After going through with the surgery, my nose looks EXACTLY the same as the photos. I am incredibly happy with the result and most importantly, I can breathe normally again. This has greatly improved my quality of sleep as well as my day to day life. I also just feel more confident having my old nose back because it looks much better not having a bump in the middle. I have had issues breathing through my nose and dealing with post nasal drip for over 5 years. I originally went to a different ENT who told me that I needed to have both sinus surgery and surgery done on my nose in order to fix my problem. He recommended I do the more invasive sinus surgery first despite the fact that my sinuses were clear on my CT and that my main issue was structurally in my nose. I came to Dr Furze and his PA Eugene for a second opinion and they wonderful! They listen to your concerns and take into account everything- including the fact I didn't want a major surgery. They agreed that I didn't need the sinus surgery and that my issue was primarily dealing with my turbinates. They offered an in clinic procedure that would reduce my turbinates and zap my posterior nasal nerve to slow down the post nasal drip. The procedure was quick, painless and I was in and out of his office that day. I was able to go back to work the following day. I am 6 weeks out from my procedure and I am feeling a ton better! I can finally breathe better when I'm sleeping or doing physical activity. I'm not waking up in the middle of the night choking on post nasal drip and my husband says I don't snore anymore! Dr. Furze is a great plastic surgeon. He took care of a reoccurring Keloid that I had on my ear that had been there for years. One surgery from his magic hands and that keloid disappeared and it looks like I never even had a keloid, no scarring. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience I had to admit that Dr. Furze job is really good but, the people he work with are not. I requested he billing lady to please fill out my unemployment papers. After 2 weeks I call her and her answer was " Since they didn't give a due date I'll do it whenever I have time" It's been 4 month and it seems that she still very busy.Now I will definitely have to look for another Dr. I will definitely NOT recommend this place to my love ones if I appreciate how hard they work for their money. read more

My husband has broken his nose twice in the past 2 years, and my husband gets better looking each visit. :)- All kidding aside, from what I've seen and heard from my husband, Dr. Furze's practice and professionalism is top notch and he goes above and beyond to make sure his patients feel comfortable and confident in the process. I would imagine that my encounter with Dr. Furze was a bit more unconventional than most of his patients, but it was definitely to my advantage. It started with a surfboard to the eye and an ambulance ride to Hoag Hospital Emergency Room. Lying there in shock, hooked up with IV's and monitoring sensors, Dr. Furze was a welcome sight to my ER bedside. His easygoing, but professional demeanor was a welcome relief to me as I sat there worrying about this swollen, bloody eye of mine and everything that went with it. Before the night was through he stitched me up like a pro, reassuring me that it's all gonna turn out fine. A week or so later after the swelling had subsided it was time to get the ball rolling and I went under the knife to repair my shattered eye socket. Dr. Furze delivered the goods, zero complications, and a speedy recovery. He does great work, so I'm told by others who have seen my eye. As of this writing (approximately 3 months after the accident), I have virtually nothing visible that would give any indication of the severity of my accident. From start to finish I had a very positive experience with Dr. Furze. He really is a great, likable, guy. He knows his stuff and like he said, "Everything turned out fine". I have been dealing with chronic nosebleeds for over 20 years. My nose would bleed for any number of reasons, and sometimes for no apparent reason at all. I'm not talking about a little blood on the tissue when I blew my nose, I'm talking dripping nosebleeds all the way to full scale gushers, on a regular basis. I also had a pretty badly deviated septum that was exacerbating the problem and meant I was always breathing through the same nostril. I had seen numerous ENTs and had my nose cauterized three times. Each cauterization made the problem worse. It got to the point where I'd given up and resigned myself to just living with it. Problem is, it stopped me from exercising or doing anything active and, after 20 years, at 47 years old, my sedentary lifestyle was a disaster waiting to happen. I found Dr. Furze here, on Yelp, and all the 5* reviews led me to make an appointment. Best thing I've done for myself in a LONG time. Dr. Furze and his staff are great. All the good reviews don't lie. I'd never had real surgery in my life and was a bit nervous, but the doctor knows his business and made me feel confident that he could fix the issues I was having. The procedure involved removing a small benign tumor (the source of the bleeding) and straightening out my septum. The surgery was easy. 1. Show up. 2. Go to sleep. 3. Wake up. 4. start healing. The pain was minimal. I may have taken two pain relievers the day after my surgery and that was it. The splints in my sinuses were probably the worst part, and that wasn't that bad. Two weeks of what essentially felt like a stuffed up nose and then they took them out and things have been getting better since. I've since starting exercising again along with all the other activities I've been avoiding for so long because of the nosebleeds. Getting back in shape has been where the real pain is. You can't sit on your ass for 20 years and expect getting back in shape to be easy. The good news is, as you may have guessed, I haven't had a nosebleed since the surgery. I would have been happy with that alone, but fixing my septum made it so much easier to breath! Bonus! Doctor Furze fixed my messed up honker and I can't thank him enough. Dr. Furze first of all has such great bed side manners! Not only does he make you feel super comfortable right off the bat by being so personable he is also extremely thorough! I'm a licensed Esthetician and have worked with doctors before. He is by far the best that I've had for my Botox and fillers. When i leave i look so refreshed every time! He's always so gentle and i never have any bruising! People will compliment me and say your skin is looking so good or whatever... little do they know it's the Botox and or fillers that he thought were right for me!
