The office staff is horrendous. No one ever picks up the phone or returns text. You can't speak to somebody and numerous texts go unanswered. If I had a different insurance I'd find another provider. The only reason I stay is my nurse practitioner. read more

I had a Kareo Video Visit on February 15th, 2023, with Maria Companioni, APRN, practicing under Dr. Ventre, whom introduced themselves as "Doctor Campanioni." It was a TERRIBLE visit. First off, they are not an MD, at least not according to how My Psychiatry lists them, which is as an APRN: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. https://amamedicalgroup.com/whats-the-difference-between-an-md-a-pa-and-an-aprn/ They are just another practitioner looking to prescribe patients medications for "off-label" use which are far more toxic in long-term use than actually safer "Controlled" Medications like Xanax and Ambien, which have been around for decades. Maria let it be known that she will NOT prescribe more than one controlled medication and that any other controlled medications that I've been on would each need to be prescribed by a separate physician. She cited this as "The law" which is a DANGEROUS lie. In Florida, access to controlled medications was actually expanded to include Telehealth visits! Whom made it clear that she's willing to be liable for a patient to decline in mental health by stopping medications they've been on for years versus actually treating them for their diagnosed conditions. NEVER... EVER.... AGAIN! So, I initially treated with Dr. Ventre - told him my entire past, current situation and issues(s). He seemed like the first doctor to actually LISTEN to my complaints, and thoroughly explain things to me and a course of treatment, all of which I was included in. He wrote me my prescriptions and I was on my way with a follow up appointment a month later. I arrive for my follow up appointment to be informed my Doctor had change and I would now be treating with Dr. Hicks. I was in and out, with now three more months of prescriptions and a follow up for three months out. A week or so before its time to refill my first prescription I notice how the way the days fell I would be a couple short, it was like 3 days. I had never been prescribed this medication so I followed up with the office for the office staff to tell me "Well, Dr. Hicks says you should take a break, she wont be re-writing and you will have to fill on the day its already written for." When I was initially prescribed the medication by Dr. Ventre, he told me to take it everyday - there was no, maybe you should take a break on weekends or anything of the nature, it was prescribed to take first thing in the morning, every morning and I did JUST THAT. It was a week before my follow up appointment and I get a call from the office to be informed that the Dr. is really busy and wont be able to see me for another two months, I would just need to come into the office and they would have more prescriptions waiting for me. Do to things coming up, I was unable to keep that appointment and had to reschedule, there was no sympathy from the doctor - she didn't write me a new prescription to cover until I could get in there, I just had to wait it out. This wasn't entirely their fault, but had they kept my first appointment I wouldn't have gone un-medicated for two and a half months before they could get me back in. I finally arrive for what is now my third appointment in now 9 months, only my second time EVER treating with Dr. Hicks, and let me remind you that first appointment I was maybe in with her for a whole 5 minutes. The appointment started off OK, normally you visit with an intern first and then you go into the Doctors office. I explained to her, how the medication towards the end of the 7 months wasn't as effective as when I had first started taking it (It was a low dose of this particular medication, for my size and weight - even Dr. Ventre had said on my first appointment this was a starting dose and it may need a slight increase). She agreed with, asked me a few other questions, and then I opened my mouth, and was honest about some things going on in my life - LIKE EVERY PATIENT SHOULD BE WITH THEIR PSYCH DOCTOR. At this point the whole mood of the appointment changed, she basically admitted to not reading my file before prescribing me medication - she just wrote it and continued to write it without reading any of the notes from Dr. Ventre. That woman has no Compassion, No Sympathy, and is a major TOOL BAG.I haven't been to see a psychiatrist since! All the ones I've seen down here just want to write you a shit ton of meds and send you on your way - I did not feel like that with Dr. Ventre, but with Dr. Hicks it was the same thing all over again. She really shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine with her 'God-Like' complex. read more

Dr. Ventre is the best but I don't want to deal with the girls at the front desk. Patients annoy them. They hate their job that pays their bills and puts food on their table. There is also a Nicole Rebochack that plays "doctor" when the Doctors are busy. For every question you ask and she responds "no". When you tell her that is not what the Doctor said; she leaves and returns with a different answer. read more

I went to see Dr. Peter Ventre after he was recommended to me by my PP. After just the first visit, Dr. Ventre was able to make me feel like I was going to get all the support and help I was going to needed. Dr. Ventre is warm, cordial, and mashes you feel at ease, no matter how delicate your problem is. I'm now in my 5th visit and I couldn't feel more pleased with Dr. Ventre's performance. I am absolutely appalled at the quality of service I received from everyone at this clinic. My sister was a patient of his and my sister has a mental disorder and is very dependent on her medication to function properly. I was referred by Atlantic Shores Hospital to Dr. Peter Ventre and his associate Dr. Bret. He doesn't even communicate with you and keeps you in the dark as to what you're prescribed. He just shoves a bunch of pills and tells you to discontinue what you're taking without consulting your primary doctor. The first few nights were a nightmare because of her medication changes. The staff told me I had to wait until the next appointment to speak with the doctor. So imagine, I had to deal with my sister throwing tantrums at all hours of the night and day! When I made it to the appointment, I only could see his associate, she was very unsympathetic to my situation and under the direction of Dr. Ventre they changed her pills AGAIN! I follow his advice a few more times, and each time it only gets worse! I would call desperately for help and was told that he cannot talk to me and that I had to wait until the next appointment. I was finally told to discontinue all the current pills with no instructions or new prescriptions. I called to try to speak with the doctor for instructions and it seems the nasty lazy rude staff doesn't want to work and tells me "the doctor will call you later this evening" and I get nothing for over 3 days (mind you, I called every day with the same answer). Finally, I was fed up and demanded to speak with the doctor immediately and was told that I needed to make an appointment and the next available time would be NOVEMBER. I cannot wait 5 MONTHS for a consultation that would only take 5 MINUTES of his life! When I explained that I was so desperate to speak with him, that I would be willing to go personally to the office, the girl on the phone yelled to me to stop "threatening" them. When I tried to explain myself again, they had the audacity to hang up on me! Because of the lack of medication and communication, my sister's caretaker had to admit her to the hospital because she was in an uncontrollable lucid state and had to call 9-1-1. I have been so stressed with this that I even had to have a heart cauterization and was told that I need to de-stress myself! How can I with a unsympathetic doctor who only wants a check?! read more
